I'm telling you, Trive, that issue option doesn't do that. It was something else entirely. I have my suspicions, but I'll keep those to myself ;)

Sciongrad wrote:Okay, Grosse has been on a couple of times in the past few days after we reached a consensus, so I withdrew my endorsement of him last night. Waiting for him to formally declare me vice-delegate was only a formality. A couple of announcements, though.
1. The WA environmental summit hosted by the IDU is beginning on Monday, May 2. All IDU members are welcome to participate. It looks like we're going to have a decent turnout with 13 GA regulars and representatives from several regions, including Forest, Yggdrasil, TSP and TRR.
2. I will be announcing a cabinet reshuffle. I will be creating a position for "Minister of Culture," which shall include only organizing regional events and roleplaying. I'll find someone with the technical proficiency to administrate the forum, but this responsibility will not be under the culture portfolio.
3. We need to develop a policy on Osiris very quickly. I will post my opinions on the forum - if I could get as much input as possible as quickly as possible, I would appreciate it greatly.
4. The CIDUS Charter was repealed, so we need to draft and adopt a new regional constitution. I distinctly remember Omigodtheykilledkenny (who is also a member of this region through a puppet) having some suggestions that he wanted to share. We should discuss those (and suggestions by others) on the relevant forum thread.
Alright, I look forward to working with you guys to revitalize this region! If anyone is interested in a particular cabinet position (they're all up for grabs except Minister of Hospitality/Regional Ecologist, whicheers and jubilationsch shall remain with Bears unless he explicitly declines), please telegram me.

Cheers and jubilations for our new delegate, and what sounds like a really fun plan.

Sciongrad

It appears I'm very popular this morning. Two Notices in two hours! Hold your horses, I'll find my notes and post them soon. :P

I am inspired by you. Capitalist/Imperialist/Condemned by WA buddies?

The best kind of commie, true story.

By the way! In the interest of actually cultivating working relations with our allies, I do plan on enlisting two or three (depending on an internal foreign policy decision that will be released imminently) ambassadors who will each be responsible for a specific region. The Foreign Minister will likely serve the dual role as an ambassador as well, in the interest of preventing our regional government from becoming too unwieldy. If anyone is interested in this (or the Foreign Minister role, which is still open), please TG me or message me on the forum.

“Hrarroom!” (= “Greetings”), and a hearty "Welcome to the IDU", for The thespian, Theudland, Auralia in the idu, Iallagus, and any other nation that has moved into this region since the last occasion when I greeted any on this page.

*(sends over a gift basket of this nation's produce, including a large jar of high-quality honey and a large bottle of high-quality maple syrup as well as assorted fruits and nuts, for each of those countries’ national governments)*

Hopefully the regional ‘Welcome’ TG was sent automatically to all of you when you arrived here, but just in case:
As the region’s ‘Minister of Hospitality’ I am responsible not only for welcoming you but also for validating new member registrations on our regional forum (If you do decide to join us there…) and for answering any questions that you have about how this region — or the World Assembly, or Nationstates as a whole — works. Please send your enquiries by 'telegram' to The Ursine Northlands, which I check regularly and whose inbox is more likely to have room than this nation’s one is: just click onto that nation's page, and at the bottom of that page there'll be the option to send a telegram to it.

I've just used the region's Founder to make some administrative changes (official appointments & removals; pinning a dispatch to this page) at the request of our new WA Delegate, Sciongrad. For the information of any among you who didn't already know this, the founder isn't my (or anybody else's "main" nation, it's a jointly-held puppet that currently has three players as its caretakers.

why so much corruption

Congrats, Sciongrad!

For those interested, we are discussing the possibilities for a new regional government here: http://s10.zetaboards.com/IDU/topic/7571036/1/#new

One of the participants in an NS [Association Football] World Cup a couple of years back made countryballs for all of the nations whose teams had qualified for the World Cup proper, including Bears Armed. You've just reminded me that I need to look through the NS Sports forum and save a copy of that image. Thank you.

Np m8. I was thinking about making a new one.

Is it possible for me to create a poll? I've tried selecting 'poll' but that just takes me into the existing one (reminding me that I needed to vote!) but I couldn't find an option to create a new one.

I believe there can be only one, as MacLeod would say.

Ah - that makes sense.

I was just wondering how people interpreted some nation stats so no big deal :-)

I'm very disappointed that, somehow, I'm not ranked last in the region for an industry. This is an unfortunate development. :/

I may be over thinking things but I've been wondering if anyone else has given any thought to a nation stat that would indicate the quality of the products produced by it's industries - I wonder this as size alone doesn't indicate quality.

In my world I'm using 'safety' as a measure of quality control based on the description given for it. I'm thinking that for insurance 'corruption' could serve a similar purpose.

Any thoughts?

An interesting question: I'll think about this.

Okay, a brief update!

1. Gnejs will be serving as our vice delegate for the remainder of my term. Additionally, both Gnejs and Nova sodor have been assigned the culture portfolio. I have no doubt they'll both do an excellent job.

2. I have also tapped Schuttegod (aka Kenny) for the foreign minister position and we were fortunate enough for him to graciously accept. There should be some exciting developments coming out of the foreign ministry in the coming months and I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

3. I've updated the embassy application dispatch. The update included minor edits such as removing references to CIDUS (which no longer exists) and redirecting the "foreign minister" link from Sanctaria to SchutteGod.

4. And finally, the IDU Environmental Summit is well under way and it appears as if it will end up being quite fruitful. Remember, all members of the IDU are welcome to participate.
