That's funny!

Grosseschnauzer

As soon as y'all choose a cpnsensus for a Vice Delegate, I will resign as the elected Delegate.

There;s been a lot of unexpected issues going on, one of which are internet access in my building, both through my ISP and the service offered in my building. I've been having to trek to the local library to at least retrieve my email (one hour a day on weekdays only) and download such very important files for my annual manuscript, The building is switching its service to a new provider as of May 1st, but until that happens, and I can see how reliable it will be I cannot assume my access issues will be at least partially resolved. As to my ISP they are having capacity issues that only they can resolve. There's a lot of construction within five blocks of my apartment in all directions, and until they fix that capacoty issue, I will continue to have problems.
Let me know by TG when y'all have sorted it out and I will resign from the WA for an update to effectuate a succession. Even if these RL issues weren't there, I might have resigned anyway since there is so much resistance to giving anything beyond what each of you were doing before I was elected. Unfortunately, unless there is a greater contribution nothing that is needed is going to be accomplished.
Finally, the repeal of the CIDUS charter has passed with no opposition, so the next Delegate is obligated to convene a convention to write new laws for the IDU to replace them.

Grosse, I'm sorry to hear that RL has taken over. I hope that everything is resolved in the near future and you'll be able to join us again.

Regarding the new delegate: I imagine this situation is unprecedented so I'm just spit balling. I currently have the second highest endorsement count and will gladly carry out the rest of Grosse's term if a consensus is reached. However, there technically isn't a vice delegate currently, which makes me wonder if an election is necessary. My only concern with holding yet another election is that we would essentially be without a delegate during a rather important time. First of all, we have no official policy regarding Osiris, despite having formal diplomatic relations with the region - we need a delegate to make a statement before doing so will lose any meaning. But secondly, an interregional conference is quickly approaching, and we will be without a either a delegate or an active foreign minister to conduct the events. These are not exigencies that demand a delegate, but they are things to consider.

How do you guys want to move forward?

New guy here, no idea still exactly how anything works but I think this Sciongrad guy should take over the rest of Grosseschnauzer's term as it sounds like there is important business to attend to! If the nomination is contested, have a vote.

This is a highly unbalanced statement. Several of us have proclaimed our wish to help revamp the region, and have offered to serve in different capacities. Nothing has come to fruition, however, because you as our delegate had very specific notions on what was needed. Like bringing in people with special competence from outside the region to fill wide positions. If we (the active ones who have pledged to participate) have not done much different than we did before, it's because we've been waiting for you to reveal your grand plans. I sympathize with a complicated RL situation that renders one unable to devote time to this game, but I frankly find the picture you're painting grossly unfair.

Good luck to you, I hope everything works out and that you return to us when your time allows it.

I support Sciongrad as delegate for the remainder of the current term.

I support Sciongrad as well.

In the circumstances Nova Sodor also supports Scion as delagate.

Have a look on the forum - it's not super busy but there's a place for you to introduce yourself!

Sciongrad and Cagontia

If Grosseschnauzer appoints Sciongrad as vice-Delegate and then stands down then there's no 'constitutional' problem about the idea of Sciongrad completing this term. So, unless anybody objects strongly to the appointment, I'd say go ahead...

(Had lots more to post about stuff, but RL currently isn't leaving me with enough time neither...)

Cagontia

I'm not in the WA for this region, but I'd support Sciongrad as well.

I'm in crisis. Yay.

Haelsa from Theudland.

This seems an apt region for the Commonwealth of Theudland.

We are a commonwealth confederacy of peoples. We hope to achieve regionalised direct democracy and a national government composed by proportional representation.

We attempt to maintain the tripartite balance of state management, corporate business and workers guilds of the Nordic Model.

Welcome!

I tried to adopt a similar strategy when I first arrived last August - it is possible (although some issues will really test and frustrate you).

I rethought my strategy after my tax rate went north of 70% - I'm still trying something similar whilst working hard to maintain a pristine environment in a technologically advanced society...oh and whilst keeping my tax rate south of 20%...some things are having to take a back seat for now 😉

I suppose good government is never easy, even with the best of intentions.

Hello Nordic friend!

Seems like Nova Sodor made a friend.

Certainly!

I'm rather winging it all at the moment. I understand there are ways of predicting statistical outcomes of issues.

If there are I'm struggling to find them - be warned as there is a strong element of satire in the issues and the results are often more extreme than what you'd have hoped for (ask Trive about NS logic!) good fun nevertheless.

The IDU has been a little quieter than what we would have liked recently but there is an effort underway to reinvigorate things so you've joined at a good time.

If you get a chance have a look at the forum - there's a thread where you can introduce yourself and lots more besides.

I am anticommunist, but I got communist once. All I did was make the firefighter squads govermnment-owned...

That's not what did it, trust me.

It was the only issue who could do it. The other 4 were not related to economy at all

Okay, Grosse has been on a couple of times in the past few days after we reached a consensus, so I withdrew my endorsement of him last night. Waiting for him to formally declare me vice-delegate was only a formality. A couple of announcements, though.

1. The WA environmental summit hosted by the IDU is beginning on Monday, May 2. All IDU members are welcome to participate. It looks like we're going to have a decent turnout with 13 GA regulars and representatives from several regions, including Forest, Yggdrasil, TSP and TRR.

2. I will be announcing a cabinet reshuffle. I will be creating a position for "Minister of Culture," which shall include only organizing regional events and roleplaying. I'll find someone with the technical proficiency to administrate the forum, but this responsibility will not be under the culture portfolio.

3. We need to develop a policy on Osiris very quickly. I will post my opinions on the forum - if I could get as much input as possible as quickly as possible, I would appreciate it greatly.

4. The CIDUS Charter was repealed, so we need to draft and adopt a new regional constitution. I distinctly remember Omigodtheykilledkenny (who is also a member of this region through a puppet) having some suggestions that he wanted to share. We should discuss those (and suggestions by others) on the relevant forum thread.

Alright, I look forward to working with you guys to revitalize this region! If anyone is interested in a particular cabinet position (they're all up for grabs except Minister of Hospitality/Regional Ecologist, which shall remain with Bears unless he explicitly declines), please telegram me.
