The Queendom of Danmark! Just a quick announcement. I have commissioned a new flag for the Icelandic International Community, and it is now being proudly displayed here on the regional page. I might try and enlarge it, a little, but I think that it is rather nice. Comments appreciated!

I like the flag. Good idea to have it in two colours only, it looks distinctive. The shape of Iceland is small but at this size can still be recognised well.

"Presidential Announcement"
Good afternoon, everybody, and thank you for your patience during this chaotic period of regional refounding. As of today, I am reforming the regional government in the hope to kicking some life back into our government. Whilst this will not be a democratic shuffle, there will be elections within the opening weeks of the new year. Most significantly, however, I am going to physically restructure the nature of government - there will be a Presidential position, a Vice Presidential position, and a series of parliamentary representatives who will be associated with numerous groups and committees. I think that this will allow more to be integrated into the process, and hopefully encourage some more debate via both the message board and private telegrams. In other news, I'd like to express my congratulations to all of our member nations who have reached the landmark of over one billion citizens. It is no mean achievement, and means our region is continually expanding!

"Presidential Announcement"
Good evening, all.
Speaking as your president, The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull has several important points to annouce.
The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull has, over the past few weeks, been informed that the leaders of many nations within the Icelandic International Community are leaving NationStates - whether permanently or just for a temporary while. After a period of negotiations, The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull has volunteered to operate these nations under the Ejyafjallajokullian sphere. Whilst taking the form of numerous "puppet" nations, it is the intent of the President to operate these nations as if they were seperate entities. This should maintain the friendly nature of the region, as well as preventing its eventual destruction. Consequently, government has been substantially overhauled. With pro-Ejyafjallajokullian states now dominating the region, elections are difficult. However, in truth elections were never truly effective. Instead, the President will friendly appoint government as is seen fit.
Those nations now under the sphere of The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull are Vatnajokull, Vestmannaeyjar and surtsey, Gullfoss, Geysir-strokkur and Arnarsonland. The constitutional monarchy of the latter has been dissolved and the nation is now functioning as an open-borders trade state. A full-depth analysis of regional constitutional change may be outlined within the coming days.
As always, issues may be telegrammed to the President directly.

Good afternoon to all,
I just thought I'd update member states regarding the recent restructuring of the Icelandic International Community. Numerous nations have experienced major changes in their governments and territory, and this is something that must be recorded publicly. With the creation of an international sphere under The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull, five nations have been incorporated into a state of close economic and political unity. They are listed in the above post. Regarding governmental types - negotiations with the former government of Arnarsonland has resulted in the creation of Arnarsonland - a free mercantile state under the protection of the Icelandic International Community and now the official home of the Icelandic International Bank. Both Vatnajokull and Gullfoss have adopted new systems of government (republicanism and confederatism respectively) via plebiscite, and the refounding of Geysir-strokkur and Vestmannaeyjar and surtsey has been well received amongst the general public of these nations.
Importantly, the traditional currency of the Icelandic International Community - the International Icelandic Króna - has been dissolved in favour of the more traditional conventional Króna. Whilst member states of the sphere of The Icelandic Hyperdemocracy of Ejyafjallajokull have adopted the Icelandic variant, member states of the Icelandic International Community are free to choose their own (by popular vote).

Regarding currencies, it could also look nice for nations with volcanic names to have currencies that remind us of the volcanoes. I like using custom fields for trying out words with non-ASCII characters, which I'm delighted NationStates supports. Perhaps check out this thread for The Blaatschapen's research on custom fields throughout the game.
