Sakura Zensen
Is a name synonymous
With basket weaving
Single purpose
of the present moment
nothing else to do
Naked friends
is a name synonymous
with no clothing
Weaving is zen-like
Away from the racing rats
Of cities too big
Away from rat race
making a basket case
can Haikus rhyme
Defence means offence
It is a euphemism
We are peaceful here
Sad tales over there
Sometimes we should stop and brag
Just for living fine
(Poor flight over there :( )
Another hot day
In the Canary Islands
I'll go to the beach
Haven't been in weeks
But today is Saturday
And I feel like it
It's Monday morning
And back to reality
But the sun still shines
This is a good ruse
Mentioning days of the week
Today is Wednesday
It is a topic
Which will change from day to day;
Thursday tomorrow
How do I keep my
basil plant alive and well?
It's wilting away...
Why don't you eat it
And go buy another one?
That's what I would do
We do not make cars
In the region of Haiku;
We're healthy and green
It's another weekend!
Drink tea by the balcony
Watch cars zoom below
Sunday morning tea
On the shaded terraza
It is quiet still
The name of the day
Makes the news seem old unless
You wait seven days
Before reading it,
But Tuesday must be welcomed
Or will feel left out
No 'average'* nation
Among us here in Haiku;
I think we knew that
See the asterisk -
Say it in the British way,
Two syllables work
Asterisks are wrong
And should be banned from haikus
As average*, banal.
Basil needs water,
not too much. And bright sunshine.
Might need repotting!
Shake soil off the roots,
Check for weevils, then repot.
And water it in.
Pinch out the main shoots.
As it grows give liquid feed
occasionally.
Feeding not needed
Until a few weeks after
repotting the plant.
As Community
of Naked Friends suggests, do
eat some of the leaves!
Basil's excellent
with spag bog and in salads
and in pesto sauce.
This is probably
much more info than you want. :D
Enjoy the basil!
Cheers, Prudence Wombat
I'm eating some of the leaves;
Excellent basil.
Glad to hear that you
are eating the leaves! Do try
purple basil too.
Number forty-six
In the world for being nude;
I'm good at something!
It's too hot to move
But I must do something now;
Get myself a drink.
We make no weapons,
Hardly any to speak of
In peaceful Haiku.
Most compassionate
In tests involving kittens
That's Floreria
I went for too long
My glorious nation gone!
Don't worry! I'm back!
