Aquitayne has recently come out with "power rankings" for the nations of Astyria. I wonder what similar rankings of GD nations would look like?

I mean, some do. But by the very nature of NS roleplaying, I'd hold more faith in my fellow Díenstadi than that. While I'd like to see my little island on the list, the world will not collapse upon itself if I'm not. Just realistic. You know?
Power rankings lead to butthurt. I agree with whoever said that. Not gonna go in-depth (couldn't be bothered). All the stuff detailing pop cap, gdp whatever, yada yada yada won't work in terms of NS RPing. It's good to be idealistic, but people are selfish (me included). It's always about what you or them can get out of the system, or situation
Best to just go by what Max (Barry) provided us with. Only real official things are stuff like World Assembly, etc. and even these stuff can be put aside/not be acknowledged by you or me, because that is the nature of storytelling; freeflow and flexible
Anyway, the reason I chose GD is because it's the more relaxed of regions out there. It's not gud not having to worry about stuff like 'who are the top dogs around' (a less PC way of writing 'List of nations by GDP' in some fictional encyclopedia or something)

Tell me if I am wrong (I didn't even bother to check that thread). I guess whoever do the power ranking will judge by:
1.) Randomly looking at your in-game factbook articles and/or your IC factbook related threads in National and International Diplomacy forums (I doubt though they would even bother to forum search your name for historical posts; too much work for such a thing... only the more devious of us do it for... fun watching aka peaceful stalking hehe(!))
2.) Quickly forum searching/history searching your latest posts under the N&I Diplomacy forums so they can judge your IC potential (and OOC potential, let's not beat around the bush - both are almost always connected with one another).
3.) How close your OOC or IC name is to them. Have they heard about you? Do they know you well? This one is as influential as number 1 and number 2.

Diplomatic, economic, military, and cultural power/awareness, I would think.
Hardly - it doesn't address the poor diets encouraged by so-called modern lifestyles, nor does it address lack of exercise. Taxation is one aspect, but encouraging proper diet and fitness must come into it.
In the UK i'd support a high sugar levy (more than planned) to fund the cost of fatness to the health service. Its a more progressive way of dealing with that cost the lifestyle has to society.
