I love Costa, and I have a Nespresso machine - I'm not sure I could live without coffee.

I'm on the other end of that... dislike the smell of coffee, and never tried it.

Hence why I only call them "Sh1tbucks".

Got a British '68 Pattern DPM Jacket and 1979 Fragmentation Vest in the post today.

Beret I can pick up cheaply from local military surplus shops, boots are another matter.

I could do with full height proper ones or if I wanted to all out historically accurate (ie do a bit of military re-enactment) I'd need DMS ones with ankle puttees.

Question is which option do I go with?

That's easy, go historic. Go big or go home!

Iirc the blanks for automatic weapons in war re-enactment is expensive. (The .50 cal horror stories lol) But if you're down with that, I say go for it.

Plus, BFAs ruin the lines of a weapon, imho.

Nice photos. My mate used to let his friends do war re-enactment on his property just to annoy the neighbours.

Man, watching the presidential race here is hilarious. The ruling government party (KMT) back in June decided to go with this heavily hardcore pro-unification candidate, basicially she's like in Taiwan's version of the Tea Party. For the last few months, her polls have steadily declined and she can't be trusted in public without a scripted speech, before she resumes to switching to her old self. She's so far right, she's make the opposition (DPP) look moderate which has only increased their support (they're leading 56-20 even in KMT internal polls).

Anyways, now the party realized they can't just sacrifice a random candidate, she's so unpopular she's hurting their legislature candidates. If the KMT can't get a majority in the legislature they're finished. Anyways, right now they're going to host a party congress and replace the current candidate with the chairman himself, but it'll make him unpopular since he has repeatedly promised over the last 10 months that he will not run for President to the point that it became a running press conference topic. Plus he's the current mayor of a special municipality, which means he'll have to step down in order to run for president, which means the citizens there won't be happy and it might go to the DPP in a runoff election.

If the KMT get absolutely destroyed in this upcoming January election my cynical self is now scared of what China will do. Once they realize their main pro-China friends in Taiwan will get crushed by the growing Taiwanese separate identity, what will they do?

Kinda why the US wants a handsoff approach to the election and hopefully it'll warn China to keep that way, but I doubt it.

I've managed to get a job that pays me overtime to sit around and wait, maybe play some pool or video games.

Details, my good man?

My job pays the same whether I sit around or work really hard ;)

I've taken a career as a bus driver.
Middle class, lots of free time one of the best pension plans on the continent, full benefits, easy work, so on and so on.

And because they have to have drivers around to fill vacancies if needed, they call people in early or on their days off (All overtime) to sit around in the garage waiting to do work. By union contract they need to pay a minimum number of hours for this too.

Like, seriously. I was called in early a few weeks ago just in case. I ended up playing a round of pool and some Halo, then going home after 2 hours because they didn't need me. Bu I got paid for four hours, all at 2.5x my regular pay (Which is $25/hr).

Government jobs are awesome.

Yes they are!
