ADDENDA: The answer keys thing I suppose is to prevent students to cheat on assignments (or seat works) but sometimes, students are tempted to peep at solution manuals if the teachers are not really good with teaching so I understand but I'm not encouraging it if that's what others are thinking. :))

Sorry, correction to my original post - "I mean imagine something worth $1.55 becomes $1.5 or $2 due to rounding". I meant to say - "I mean imagine something worth $1.55 becomes $1.6 or $2 due to rounding". It's like should I take an ordinary fare bus or air conditioned one if the price difference is $5 (and if I think I would still be needing that $5 later on). To some $5 is a big deal so if the value is significant when we remove pennies and encourage rounding up of prices, should we even consider removing pennies that occupy our already heavy coin purses in the first place? I guess it means a lot for tax payers and stockholders.

for me, in secondary school it was more about connecting with my teachers than their methods. if I liked my teacher I liked the class.

as far as getting rid of 1/100 denominations, if the coins cost more to make than they are worth, then surely it isn't economical. but honestly, it seems moot when electronic forms of payment are being more and more acceptable. I can even pay with paypal in some stores.

True. :) Electronic payment does show a promising future. I mean you don't have to always carry bills, checks and coins all the time. Paypal does give convenience as more and more people are buying online. Why bother going out if you can stay and see everything in your mobile, gadgets or laptops and computer screens? Still, for now, I don't think current forms of cash are obsolete. I like bills and coins. I get to practice my counting and budgeting skills. I learn how to be more organized and keep things systematic. I feel learning to keep money safe helps in learning to be more responsible. If ever they do away with bills and coins, I hope they still teach the coming generation to do pen and paper transactions (maybe teach them to count and handle paper money in school). You know in the event of a system failure. Teach them to master technical skills pertinent in work and society. Math, I must admit, is a powerful tool even in medicine when you're doing conversions. I want the future generation to do things more efficiently than us but that doesn't mean they shouldn't develop critical analytical skills with the advanced technology they have probably. They should hone them together with reading. I am open to electronic payment :) but for now, electronic or non-electronic, we would always have the pros and cons. But for things like purchasing online, electronic payment makes things more efficient. Security problems occur in both situations for non-electronic and electronic so we can't say one system is better than the other but from my experiences, having knowledge of both systems is very rewarding and helpful in handling money properly.

I also forgot. I kind of like clinging on to money for now. I dunno, maybe for sentimental values. It also shows a nation's culture and history. Money in fact, is becoming more and more creative but I know there is a branch of collecting those money. Forgot its name. :(

in the event of system failure, being able to count nonexistent hard currency would be one of our least concerns. but you are definitely right about money showing national culture and history. I wonder what other way we could incorporate it into everyday life.

:( not so sure how to incorporate it as well. museums, maybe?

F4U's nation just died.

Both of them (Mexico too). :(

How does a nation die? I am confused.

it Ceased To Exist. also known as CTE'd.

That happens after 28 days of inactivity, unless you put Vacation mode on. Then it takes somewhat longer.

Bucksavage is now a full-time official FRA Rep for the region. Congrats, Buck!

Ah, I see.

Hello friends. I don't know much about this game, and as I was invited to the Global Right Alliance, I'm here to ask just a few questions, actually, just one. First: I saw that there are actually very few game mechanics, and most part of the game is solely based around RPing, am I correct?

yes and no. this can help explain gameplay and roleplay in nationstates: http://w11.zetaboards.com/GlobalRightAlliance/topic/7807944/ Basically, there are enough mechanics within moving between regions and the WA to simulate power struggles which sets up political battles within founderless regions and broad warfare between raiders and defenders in most founderless regions.

Very true. This region is mostly centered around said gameplay, although we have a few people who are willing to do some RPing.

The GRA has two empty minister spots! If you are interested in helping your region, contact me now!

It doesn't matter if you have experience or not, if you have any questions down the road we will help you with them.

Bodegraven, I'd be happy to help with mentoring of new government ministers, if newer players wish to get involved. :)

And I'm good thanks, I will post the photo of the my gigantic mosquito bite blister on the forum shortly... if that doesn't make people check out the forum I don't know what will! :P

What does that position entail?
