I'm shocked and amazed that Nohomostan is not getting a warm reception in other gay and gay-friendly regions! NOT!

The shaggy nation

Good morning dudes and chicks! How were y'alls weekend? I hope the tragic events over the weekend didn't ruin it for anyone and that all of you are safe.

Hey guys. What's up? How are we?

Britain?

The Netherlands.

Cool!

I just spent 15 minutes writing something while switching tabs, then the writing tab paused and now the document's empty.

I am what you would call a little upset.

Just watched the second episode of London Spy. It's a gay spy drama with Ben Whishaw and Edward Holcroft. Finding it rather impenetrable...

Fisxol

Hmmm. Just got done watching season two of Orange is the new Black. Never saw so many chesticles in my life until now.

I find most people really don't treat municipal politics as seriously as it deserves. Sure it doesn't deal with lofty things like foreign affairs... but it is the level of government that most directly affects "you" (the citizen).

None of the election results in my city ever turn out very interesting because people can't really get excited about the race and pretty much always vote for the incumbent by a wide margin. Hell, in my area that Catholic School Board trustee and the City Councillor are cousins who have been in for years.

My face turned yellow from bruising in consequence of my surgery.

We have partisan elections here.... the incumbent slate has won every single council, school trustee and the mayor's chair in the last three elections. We've literally had 7 (and will end up with 10) years of unanimous government with zero opposition voices.
That party has held a council majority for 30 years, the mayor's chair for about 36 years and school board majority since time immemorial.

Unfortunately, that's probably happened to all of us who TG or write onto the RMB. It's happened to me plenty of times in the past.

If you know beforehand that a post will be long, I advise you to compose it on a word processor first, then copy the text, paste it into the appropriate box in NS, and lodge/send it. That way, if for whatever reason it fails to post, you have the entire text still in front of you and can try again.

If you really get into writing a piece and it turns out very long, once you're finished, copy and paste it into a WP as above, or at least copy it before you try to post it. 99% of the time, the latter approach will be sufficient to recover your lost post. Rarely, for whatever reason on my computer, Control-C doesn't work properly (usually it just needs to be rebooted). Usually for me in those cases, Control-X doesn't work either, but it's still worth a try.

Generally, I try to finish a piece of writing before I move onto something else. If you need to pause to look up something, you'll do well to copy what you've written into a WP before you open a new tab or window.

I imagine we all have multiple WPing programs on our computer. That can be as simple as opening up AOL and copying your text into an e-mail.

If you can discipline yourself to do these things, you should never lose another post, or at least only very rarely, like if you click a hyperlink by accident while composing. Good luck!

I see Trump wants to watch mosques and close some down, especially "those that preach hate". Will we be closing Westboro Baptist, too, then?

You are not welcome here and your posts will be suppressed and your nations banjected until such time as you weary of griefing us or the Mods decide enough is enough and wipe you off of the face of NS.
