Some kids used to actually do this for essays, and type in that sort of manner.

That happened to me exactly once during my teaching practicum. I made a very big deal of photocopying some of the offending pages and creating an overhead transparency (yes, my room was old school). I showed the students the transparency with the student's name redacted, and I very publicly ripped the extra copy into pieces.

Never again.

Anyone been to Paris? Are there specific gay clubs or cultural spots that I should consider adding to my itinerary?

Lgbtq equality

No,But I've Been in Brugges(Lots)

So the Marais is canonically the center of Parisian gay life - centered more or less around the Rue des Archives. When I was there earlier in the summer it was warm enough for the ritual of carrying your drink out to the street. The Open Cafe is pretty civilized early in the evening.

Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, and Marcel Proust (among obviously very many others) are buried in Père Lachaise, if you're an admirer.

I saw a meme today saying, keep telling yourself it's gay to be a male cheerleader. Then it showed pictures of guys holding up girl cheerleaders, and looking up their skirts, and I was like, how could I have never thought of that.

I don't know how many of you know this, but someday, I'd like to be a biology professor, though in the state of Iowa, there are certain grants you can get for teaching at low-income public schools. There are many many low income schools around, including the one I go to. By low income, I mean families of students don't have a whole lot of money. And I need all the financial help I can get. So I'm going to most likely get my BSc, get a teaching license, and teach at a high school, for a few years anyway. Then, if I decide to, I can just go back and get my MS or my PhD when I so desire. If I ever have a kid who types like that, you better bet it's gonna be a big deal. I hate improper grammar. Now, I admit, I make grammar mistakes, but they're accidental. If a kid ever types anything in text language, man will we have issues!

This is a first. I've been laying in bed for 5 hours, and haven't slept at all. This sucks.

I'm just crushing it with my new novel. I don't know why, but it's been far easier for me to write than my first one has been, and I have been taking literary detours all over the place that I didn't do the first time I wrote anything.

I also potentially have a job lined up, so things are definitely starting to swing back in the right direction with regards to that part of my life.

Finally, I've gotten my campaign groove back, it was nice to canvass the neighbourhood and get so many people who were supportive of what I was doing and who I represent.

I shouldn't gloat and this shouldn't be taken as such, its just an update and a nice reminder to myself that things do get better, even if they seem terrible at the time.

I hate when that happens. Like when I have to get up at six for college class, I try and be asleep by 11, it never works out that way. I just end up laying here until like two in the morning. It's very frustrating.

Holy crap, same. Exactly the same story. I'm sick, though.

For specific gay bars in Paris, the most frequented are usually Open Café (mentioned by Alfoldia) and Raidd Bar. There are lots of alternatives in the Marais though, including darkroom and fetish options. There are three parks largely known for cruising, the jardin des Tuileries, the parc des Buttes-Chaumont and the bois de Vincennes - be advised though that sex in public places is against French law and these parks are by no means sanctuaries. French guys that are into guys are usually on Grindr and often also on Gayromeo and other similar apps.

And of course we are absurdly overrepresented in the staff out here at Disneyland ;)

I just have a lot going on. I don't sleep when I'm stressed.

That sucks. Nervous insomnia is a b-word because they practically feed off of each other.

Thanks Alfoldia and Alqania!

I'm only around for three days and there's a lot to see so Disneyland is out. Versailles is in though. Also because it's the first Sunday of the month a lot of museums are free.
