And as a forum suggestion, many other regions seem to use zetaboards.
Forum usage can be overrated in a smaller region. Players will move to the forum and ignore the RMB. But it is HERE that players get their first taste of relationship building.
Just my two cents.
I agree forum use is overrated but my experience is opposite to TAOs I find its difficult to get players to use a forum they log in to the game but can't then be bothered to log in to another location like a forum, our own Travelling Region forum is ideal for us it serves more of a record of our activities with the occasional post. Our forum is ProBoards and they have just brought out a new all singing all dancing version with all sorts of gizmos although we have yet to change over to the new version.

I'm registered on numerous forums, but am just active on a one now. My first year or so on NS was RMB only.
I have gravitated back to the RMB side of the game again. RL demands it. :P
Some regions totally ignore the RMB. Seems to me that if I were scouting for a new region, I'd look first to see if there's any activity on the RMB. When we're just flying in for a few days, who wants to join a forum? But they are good for lengthy discussions, if that's your thing. And some regions play games on them.
I agree Geese; the first thing I look for in finding a good region is an active ... and POSITIVE ... RMB. Some regions have active RMBs but their tone overall is degrading or negative. Better to let those regions fail without me getting wrapped up in their angst. If it isn't fun communicating on the RMB, then why bother with the region? after all, this is a game and a game is supposed to be fun.

I don't really ever see anything negative on this RMB. As for activity, it seems if somebody puts a comment on the RMB somebody else will respond to it.
What we have here is peace. No invader/defender nonsense is tolerated here anymore. If a comment appears that implies such activity from either side in that never ending idiocy, then I hit the eject button.
