Ireland 1- Italy 0: Forty fouls and six yellow cards must have been a brutal spectacle to watch. With Italy resting eight starters the Irish still needed a victory to move on to the knockout round. Italy managed only one shot on goal while the Shamrocks mustard more attempts. A sweet pass from 25 meters found Italian backup goalie Sirigu coming off his mark only to be denied the save as Robbie Butler headed into the net at 85’ for the victory. Ireland thus joins England, Wales, and Northern Ireland into the next round leaving some Brits ecstatic.

The game wasn't that bad to watch but the ref was brutal.
While I commend and appreciate your reports sincerely, I must point out its Robbie Brady and also we have nothing to do with the Brits!

Oh wait role playing is not allowed on the RMB, because that would annoy most people here. But if you wish to role play, you are welcome on the forum. Here on the RMB we discuss real life politics, economics, societal issues, history, football and how much we dislike the SC. Feel free to participate!

Appreciate the correction re Brady... typo on me.

The addition of Ireland in the mix was a bit of sarcasm.

Carry on.

Very good. I missed the sarcasm as I've seen alot of social media posts and even official media outlets talking of 4 UK teams through etc.

Holy Jebus Gibraltar really wants to stay in the EU.

Perhaps if the UK leaves they'll vote to join us to remain in the EU lol

I'd totally support Gibraltarian anschluss conexión

Simplify european borders now

Well it seems the UK leaving the EU is winning by 7 percent, give or take a few.

Oh I don't do RP on RMB. I meant on the forums.

Well, the population of Gibraltar is against joining Spain, just like the population of the Falklands is against joining Argentina.

Nationalists aren't bad at all, the brexit isn't just about nationalism, its about being self-reliant, if the Brits don't want to have to rely on the EU, let them leave, wanting to leave doesnt make a person stupid, nor does wanting to stay make anyone intelligent, its just a matter of who is going to control the future of the nation, a completely independent Britain, or a European led Britain

'A completely independent Britain'. I think you've proofed my point.

Well people, you awake today to the "UK Independence Day"; Britain has voted for #Brexit and so now begins the battle for Britain's survival...

Already, upon this result Pound Sterling(£) has fallen against the US Dollar($); approximately 10%, to its lowest level in over 30 years; an exchange rate not seen since 1985!...

The break-up of the UK has begun; with Scotland calling for a new referendum on Scottish Independence from the UK, due to its overwhelming support for EU membership, AND certain political figures and parties in Northern Ireland are stating that the UK Government no longer has any authority over Northern Ireland; the Peace that was forged there is now becoming tatters, and they are calling for a referendum for Northern Ireland to join the Republic of Ireland, because Northern Ireland is much more pro-EU; with a desire to not only keep borders between northern and southern Ireland "soft", but potentially erase them, and redraw them between Ireland and the rest of these sceptred isles(?)...

There are calls for resignations from the Government...

And now,...

Far-Right Parties in France, the Netherlands, and Denmark are also calling for referendums on their EU membership...

- I guess what happens in those EU countries is none of our concern? - Really?!

The results could:-

• unify the two Irelands into one island nation.
• create an independent Scotland.
• see Gibraltar become part of Spain.
• see many other EU nations call for exit from the EU.

- All this WILL simplify EU borders really well!

And it's happening trough legitimate referendums and civilized diplomacy. Well, I still remember how Yugoslavian days ended. Inslonece, vulgarism, fighting...

And of course, first brick in European wall is missing. Brick by brick...

I expected Remain to win but whatever

Huh, I thought that the people in Northern Ireland are against joining Ireland due to religious differences. (Irish people are Catholics, while people from Northern Ireland are Protestants)

Relax switzerland & norway aren't in eu and they're doing okay

What are gonna be the consequences on the long term?
Also France now fifth economic power yay

Educgi wrote:Relax switzerland & norway aren't in eu and they're doing okay

Why did you forgot Russia? They are even economic isolated (sanctions, while Switzerland and Norway have few agreements with EU) and still "do okay".

Scitayarland

It's the beginning of the end for the EU, the days are now numbered, the old man is now sick and dying, now we wait...
