I argue that negotiations are the most effective method for sitting down peacefully, understanding the conflict, and understanding one's enemy.
Vitriol begets vitriol; so if you want to live in a chronic police state, keep retaliating and striking preemptively and dehumanizing your enemy into obscurity (this is the path that the USA has chosen). I argue that existing in a state of perpetual war is a worse outcome than compromise and reconciliation that could come with negotiation.
Right? With all the recent talk and polls about our potential involvement in Iran and Syria, I roll my eyes and groan at the prospect of more military deployment so soon. I'm suffering from interventionism fatigue bad. Whose warhawks are these that never seem to tire of it, always clamoring about the next potential threat? They're/it's everywhere.
