I recently sent a mass-telegram to all of you regarding this matter. Here it its:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear member of Capitalist Paradise,

As you may know, The North/South/West/East Pacific are game-created regions and its normal to get annoying telegrams in there. However, since the implementation of "Massive Telegrams" and the possibility to send them to any nation in the world, its most likely for you to receive unwanted recruitment telegrams even if you are in a player-created region like this one.

Therefore, in order to avoid this, I suggest you do the following:
- Go to your "Telegram Preferences" by clicking on this link page=tgsettings
- Select "Block All" for ONLY the "Recruitment" type of telegram.
- Click on "Update Filer", just below that table.

That will be all; no one will bother you now.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards,

The-CID
Founder of Capitalist Paradise

PS: If you did this and you are still getting recruitment telegrams, PLEASE keep the telegram in your inbox and contact the Mods using the link page=help --> "Report an Spammer"

Ok, I phrased that badly. I directed the question to Versille with the intention of showing them how to shut it off if they so wished.

But thank you for all the help. :)

I got one too. I returned it to the sending party via a suborbital cinder block. It was doing roughly Mach 3 when it went through the windshield on his car.

Do you know how to block recruiting telegrams?

I don't see why anyone has to take blame or deny anything. The only one at fault for that shoot down was whoever issued the ultimate order to the Malaysian Air pilot to fly over an active shooting war. Seriously, what kind of an idiot would make that call?

What are the Ukrainian's flying for fighters now? I am assuming, maybe wrongly, that they would be somewhat out classed by the Russian air force.

At any rate, God knows what was going on through the person's head when they issued the order for the pilot to fly over a warzone.

I've seen things regarding war here, can nations battle each other? Does it kill population if you can?

It's all role play good sir. No population is affected...though it doesn't hurt to side with a militarized nation....cough cough

For Those Role Playing in the Regional Paper, Please include the name of your nation prominently. Some of the articles are a little hard to get through because, without a nation name, its hard to figure out what nation's propaganda i am reading.

I have noticed that to but just didn't say anything. That is why I user a big banner that says The United Oman News

I edited the newspapers so that hovering over the "author" tag area shows the nation who submitted it.

Should help ;)

LoL, its absolutely true. Seems you are familiar with it, but just in case, you can read some posts ago and you will see the instructions about turning them off.
Oh! And just wait a couple of weeks for the new Doctor! ;D

Of course you know, THIS means war.

Please, no.

Yea, I turned them off, thanks though. And I can't wait for Capaldi, I have high hopes for him!

I had no idea you were a fellow Doctor Who fan, CID. I too am looking forward to Capaldi and the darker approach the series seems to be taking with him. Hopefully this means more action/adventure and less romance.

I generally love most things British, Doctor Who however not one of them. Almost despise it as much as Lewis Hamilton.

I also really can't get into it - mainly for it being a mainstay of family Christmasses, and I understand that the (recent?) Christmas episodes are some of the worst written.

Also, was leafing through the constitution (working hard or hardly working?) - The Vocals are listed under the Judiciary, but make no reference to what looks like judicial activity (i.e. interpretation of laws, defence of accused, etc.), rather focusing on "performance". Doesn't that make them part of the Executive?

I actually liked the Clara-Doctor (Matt Smith) relationship. But Capaldi should be a good new feel for the show.

Hello fellow Capitalists!

To be completely honest, I always considered Matt Smith to be an ok Doctor, not the "messiah of doctors" some people exaggerated him to be.

Lets see, I agree that Capaldi will lead to a darker approach... lets hope the humour quota can still be there.

Seems we have different views: I used to prefer the Rose-Doctor (Tennant) chemistry.
Also, Amy-Doctor (Matt Smith) was good, but no romance involved.

He had to replace Tennant, which most people (like me) consider the best Doctor...

Vocals are not listed under the Judiciary: Take a good look at Constitution via the link "Magna Carta" and you will see the horizontal line that separates the two chapters (Judicial>Advocate and Arbiter General / Vocals). Moreover, Vocals are an independent office and does not belong to the Executive: Once again, take a good look at Constitution via the link "Magna Carta" and read under "Government" (The governing body of Capitalist Paradise shall consist of four general offices: The Executive, The Legislative, The Judicial, The Vocals, And additional offices created as needed)

I'm liking the fact that we're keeping roleplaying on the newspaper. I didn't think I would be into it, but since I enjoy writing, I kinda fell into it. It looks like a few others have as well.

I have to disagree with you there. Eccleston's Doctor to me was the best of the New Who Doctors and my favorite overall, followed by the iconic Tom Baker. Nine was dark, more action oriented, brutally honest, and to me had a more intriguing character arc with the whole survivor's guilt and PTSD thing they had going for him. He also had good chemistry with his companions (Rose and Jack) without beating you over the head with it like they did with Ten and Eleven.

Completely Agree. 9 will always be my favorite.
