Post self-deleted by Devil Heart.

You all have made me curious, so I have done a little research on my nations.

For those interested:
My oldest nation was founded April 2011, I don't think I have ever let her CTE?
Devil Heart certainly hasn't. Founded August 2011, created specifically for Canada, she has never left.
I have a bunch of others that come and go.
Should bring back the Z nations, they were fun......but a bit of a headache to keep alive.

I would like it if there was a name/status we could afford our nations that mean more to us personally than just 'puppet'.
I will always have a soft spot for Devil Heart's older sister for example, my first Nation States nation.
Could be a bit messy/complicated to come up with a suitable code or whatever for such a purpose, not really worth the bother....although I am interested if others have an opinion on this.

Hm, I wonder when I actually moved to Canada, 2005 maybe? was in east Pacific when I first started...

I lost my original (2004) nation and a bunch of secondaries. I had CTE'd for a bit and meanwhile lost access to the E-Mail account.

I think I've had over a hundred nations over the years. I make a personal distinction between "puppets" which are created for a particular purpose (like the Zombie labs) and left to CTE with no great investment, and "secondary" nations which I play long-term.

For most of us, everyone can tell which is our primary nation because that will be the one with the WA bar.
It must be difficult for those that can't indicate their primary nation with the WA signifier because they are not interested in/are protesting the WA game play element.

With this in mind, I am wondering about something that could be used in our settings that would indicate on our nation page some kind of status.
This 'click' would remain voluntary of course...
.....because there are a whole range of reasons why we might wish to keep that quiet about a particular nation.
As many indeed as there would be if we wished to indicate a certain nations active importance to the wider game.

I had a slightly different proposal in mind, but I can see where you're coming from. The place to propose it would be on the Technical forum

The key is to keep the nation from going inactive, when it gets deleted which I think is like 7-14 days. Soo just log in once a week that should do the trick :)

How do we see when we were founded? I think I left the game for a few years, it never got deleted. Maybe it was grandfathered in? :P

Oh, deleted nations can be restored. Must have restored at some point. Still don't know how old it is though, hmm...

If you go to the NationStates forum and make a post, you'll see your founding date below your nation name on the left.

You can search 'the world' for your nation (or any other) and then klick 'search boneyard'.

I could recover the good old Tinkburg after it ceased to exist more than 10 years ago.

Or just use the boneyard:
page=boneyard

Type in any nation name and it'll tell you when it was founded, last activity, etc.

Active nation The Staggering Hills of ParrrrTay
Founded: Antiquity
Last activity: Wed Feb 10 2016
Population: 26.467 billion

WOW...I feel old!

And there's me just about to cross 12 billion! (Although I accidentally let Stormaen CTE occasionally after I first founded it.)

My original nation would be similar. I think ParrrrTay was a couple of weeks ahead of me.

A.N. is a bit over 19bn just now.

Founded: Sun Sep 3 2006
Last activity: Wed Feb 10 2016
Population: 20.44 billion

I'd take a guess that either by population or founding date Canada has one of the higher average nation ages in NS.

Anyone know when the new world census changes are happening?

Although it states Antiquity IIRC was founded in 2003. I'm just a teenager. HA!

Ah. I thought you were April 2004. I joined around the end of May.

I think I arrived in Canada the end of 2004 or beginning of 2005 (it was cold). I was in TSP first.

And TEP before that, no?
