(And, no, inputting '1' doesn't work.)

Yes, inputting '1' does work, actually :) If you are getting an error, its not because of that, as eluded to by Farf :)

Its not a bug, its a feature designed to ensure only AO residents / humans sign up.

As it turns out, the problem wasn't that (I was signing up as Iskandervale, after all), but that I'm a moron and misread where you're meant to input AO as, um, some kind of two-lettered trigramme.

A bigramme, I guess.

Thanks for the correction.

You see, you don't see the bugs when you're shining them %$#^ bright lights, because they like to hide in the dark. Night vision goggles work best to find the bugs...

Aside from that, you're probably going to have to do some digging. The only WC result I know by heart is the one I hosted, 32 - The recently CTE'd fellow AO nation Milchama was my co-host, Ariddia won (their first), Jeruselem was the runner-up, The Lowland Clans (an old AO nation) was 3rd, and Krytenia was 4th. If I remember correctly 32-36 winners went Ariddia, Bettia, Ariddia, Bettia, Ariddia. It's been a while though, so I might be mistaken.

Ah, the Lowland Clans. Cripes. I remember them.

Mind you I also remember sharing a border with Cockbill Street.

Where I'm from, we don't greet women using that word.
That's quite enough on the topic, and I keep forgetting that I can now suppress posts here. :D

suppression is just oppression from tyrants who wanna say "sup?" as they're laying the smackdown.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

in other news before continuing on my "terror in Gemsbrooks story" for the AOCAF, is it just me or just a coincidence that 2.5 months before the Paris shootings I rped about a terror attack at a rock concert in a major capital city?

I'd argue it was inevitable in a way. I mean, I've long wondered why terrorists didn't target events like football matches and concerts. Never liked saying it out loud instead people got ideas, though. Heh. Just always seemed like a pretty obvious target to me. Security is rarely particularly heavy at concerts and sports events (IMO) and they're just not places you'd expect to encounter danger.

Psychologically speaking, surely that's a bigger impact if you want to induce terror (which, by definition, terrorists do). It becomes "OMG we're not even safe here?!" Now that it's happened, I wonder how much of an impact that will have on security at those events, or if it will noticeably affect attendance at those kinds of events in major cities.

Pretty interesting topic to write about... but perhaps not just yet. Feels a bit too soon, still.

Multi-Oxidative Reduction Of Nucleosides?
Minimal Operant Returns Of Nugats?
Mothers Opposing Rabid Otters Nursery?
Maggie's Out Ruining Our Nerds?
Murder! Oppression! Repression! Obstinacy! Nietzsche?

hmm, I'm starting to think it's not an acronym...

I'm sorry, but I've already reached my quota of Princess Bride quotes for the year. Thank you and try again next year!

In bad taste to double post, but I've had the terrorists at the footy match thing since years ago (I think back when Jolt was still a thing... O_o). The novelty has worn off...

Thinking about re-doing my nations history to center it around with AO's history and the previous nation(s) that once where my nation is. Where to start though.

ThIS December has become very strange, for the past week and a half it's been near or above 50, right now it's raining and thundering and the grass is becoming green again. If you may not remember I live in North Iowa and it's feeling like spring.
