Pigeons, you say?
Flibble.
Waddle.
Just wanted to ask, do you ever get to change past issues?
They come back around. You can choose a different option if you want. The previous choice doesn't go away though.
We have updated our Factbook. Enjoy:
German Exploration of the Antarctic
-------------------------------------------
Since the dawn of the 20th Century German scientists and adventurers had been obsessed with Antarctica.
The Gauss Expedition (1901–1903), was the first German expedition to Antarctica, led by Arctic veteran and geology professor Erich von Drygalski in the ship "Gauss", which was named after the mathematician and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauss. Drygalski led the first German South Polar expedition to explore the unknown area of Antarctica lying south of the Kerguelen Islands. A small party of the expedition was stationed on the Kerguelen Islands, while the main party proceeded further south. Erich von Drygalski paid a brief call to Heard Island and provided the first comprehensive scientific information on the island's geology, flora and fauna.
A second German expedition (1911-1913) was led by Wilhelm Filchner with his ship "Deutschland" on May 4, 1911. The expedition entered the Weddell Sea and discovered Luitpold Coast and the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf, which Filchner had originally named after the German emperor Wilhelm II.

The Third German Antarctic Expedition
----------------------------------------------
In the years leading up to World War II, Germany was determined to gain a foothold in Antarctica, both for the propaganda value of demonstrating the awesome power of the Third Reich and also because of the territory's strategic significance in the South Atlantic.
On December 17th, 1938 a third expedition was dispatched under the command of Captain Alfred Ritscher to the South Atlantic coast of Antarctica. The main purpose was to find an area in Antarctica for a German whaling station, as a way to increase Germany’s production of fat. Whale oil was then the most important raw material for the production of margarine and soap in Germany and the country was the second largest purchaser of Norwegian whale oil, importing some 200,000 metric tonnes annually. Besides the disadvantage of being dependent on imports, it was thought that Germany would soon likely be at war, which was considered to put too much strain on Germany’s foreign currency reserves.
Another lesser known objective was to scout possible locations for a secret German naval base.
The expedition arrived in Antarctica on January 19th, 1939. In the following weeks exploration teams walked along the coast recording claim reservations on hills and other significant landmarks. A surprising number of large, ice-free areas, containing lakes and sparse vegetation were discovered. The expedition geologists suggested that this might have been due to underground heat sources.
This entire area was claimed for the Third Reich, and was renamed 'Neu-Schwabenland'.

World War II
----------------
Throughout World War II, the Third Reich sent many ships and aircraft to Neuschwabenland with enough equipment and manpower to build massive complexes under the ice and in well hidden ice-free areas.
Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz stated in 1943:
"Germany's submarine fleet is proud to have established an unassailable fortress for the Führer on the other end of the world."
Unfortunately, Germany's fortunes began to take a turn for the worst...
The Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944 (termed D-Day) began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to an Allied victory on the Western Front.
------------
Aftermath (Where our "Alt-History" actually Begins...)
------------
As Germany's defeat became apparent, selected party leaders, scientists, skilled professionals, and their immediate families were evacuated from Europe in modified U-Boats and relocated to the underground fortress in Antarctica. By the end of the War, the allies determined that there were 250,000 Germans unaccounted for - even taking into account casualties and deaths.
The years following Germany's defeat were torturous for the Neuschwabenvolk both mentally and physically. The harsh climate, meager supplies, low birthrate, and defection (to Nazi-sympathetic communities in South America) thinned the Population of Neuschwabenland by nearly 85%
----------------
A New Future
----------------
When Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz escaped from Spandau Prison in 1956 with help from the SS-NS (Neuschwaben Schutzstaffel Commandos), he assumed his rightful place as Reichspräsident of Neuschwabenland.
The Neuschwabenvolk were subsequently tasked by Grand Admiral Dönitz to expand their Antarctic Fortress into a living & thriving city beyond the thick layers of ice.
Volcanic heat sources were discovered and harnessed into an endless power source using Hydro-volcanic Turbines inserted deep into the continent's core. Population growth programs were instituted by the new Chefärztlicher Direktor - Dr. Josef Mengele, along with cryogenic developments that increased lifespan and productivity. Under the leadership of Grand Admiral Dönitz the military was reborn, academic & cultural institutions were established, additional fortresses were built to manage population growth, and subterranean agricultural sectors were created.
With a flourishing economy, strong military, and a resurgence in National Pride; the future of Neuschwabenland is now brighter and more hopeful than ever!

hey everyone, i just joined, ive had past accounts and like geography :P (yes i know my name is miss-spelled :( )
Welcome to the Region. Stay off the furniture and don't play with our shoes.
I wonder if there's a website or software that lets you read all past issues and the positions your nation adopted. It'd be a good inspiration to create factbooks imo.
The game does not keep track of the past decisions beyond the last five.
Hey hey, welcome to Antarctica.
The Schutzgebieten of Deutsche Antarktische has forbidden hangovers in all public areas.
Hm. I go away for a while and my regional influence resets.
Over the polar ice, a mysterious starship appears- having flown across galaxies on its long travel and just now having visited the Arctic of this planet, it has now made a stop on the other side...
Hello, everyone! I'm a region-traveler, so I unfortunately won't be staying forever. My travel partner, Ava Ire, should be here shortly.
