It was an ok anime. If you liked it, you might want to check out Log Horizon.

I've seen it advertised. What is it actually about?

Recently heard about how they are currently making a 'The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan' anime. I'm pretty self-controlled and level-headed around anime, but when it comes to Haruhi Suzumiya franchise... So excited!!!! Anyone else? Or you think it'll suck?

I will have to check that one out, thank you.

To sum it up, its about a virtual reality game where the only system administrator locks them into the game and any attempt to remove the players from the game ends in their death in the real world. As well as dying in the game will mean your real world body dies as well. Their only way out is to beat the game.

I found it interesting, because if it had happened in real life I am sure similarities would have popped up. Such as in the game there were players who were "noobs" in a sense that they were there for the experience not to beat the game. These players ended up opening shops or running bars, or becoming fisherman to make a living in the game, while others organized giant raid groups to beat the game and free everyone.

Let me know what you think if you watch it.

Can someone tell me what this Cure Missile thing is and why it's spammed my feed?

You weren't here for the zombie uprising over Halloween?

His name is Rick, and he was in a coma.

Has anyone here seen or is watching Kino no Tabi (Kino's Journey?)

Golden Time was a joy to watch.

Ikr, I'm glad the person ended up with her (no spoilers)

If its one I am thinking of it was great :)

Who watched Glasslip? Is it good?

It is my all time favorite anime.

I watched it. It's like Nagi no Asukara. These anime look like evening drama shows to me. Visuals and OP/ED songs are great.

The union of tentacles and grapes

The bastion of slavery wants an embassy with us.

Should I send our reply in the form of a box of surprise tentacles?

Sounds reasonable enough.

WA News, "Late For Work" Edition: Apparently when we weren't looking, the GA passed the resolution, "Rules of Surrender" by a vote of 7,757 aye to 1,416 nay. We'd seen the draft proposal in work and it was a decent one, so we're fine with this and hopefully you are.

Now up for vote is the proposed "Anti-Counterfeiting Pact". It's exactly what it says on the tin: a mutual agreement between WA nations to outlaw counterfeiting of each others' currency, and to empower the WA to investigate suspect counterfeiting operations in member countries. Common sense stuff; we recommend voting aye on it.

Apologies, I only recently started a new nation on here. The last time I played must have been 5 years ago, have there been some updates where one nation can go to war with another?

Once again I do apologize if I seem to be asking dumb question.

Thank you!

P.S. If there are any other huge updates in the last few years, that I wouldn't be blatantly aware of, can you let me know?

There hasn't been any updates that let countries go to war with each other. However, you can go to war (RP wise) on the forums (just RP).

Some large updates would probably include the Factbooks, graphs, Zombie Apocalypses (every Halloween).

Hi! Celianum here. Just remembered I had a much older and larger nation from aaaaaaaages ago.

WA News, "Taking Care of Business" Edition. The General Assembly's proposed "Anti-Counterfeiting Pact" was passed 8,995 votes to 1,116. So, no more printing funny money, you guys.

Currently up for vote is a proposal on "Foreign Patent Recognition". Basically, it requires all WA member states to recognize patents issued by other WA states. The meat of the proposal is here:

Mandates that each member state recognize the exclusive rights associated with foreign patents for a minimum of twenty years after the date on which the patent was granted, or the period used by the member state that granted the patent;

There's some debate in the GA chambers over whether this is an appropriate time-frame for patent recognition. We're fine with it, and would tend to vote for this. Currently the Anime vote is split 2-3, though, so we'll hold off until we get a better sense of the region.

I was against this and glad this is defeated.

NS works differently from Real Life, which is what this Act was based on. There are more than 15500 WA nations in NS while RL has less than 200. For numbers alone, it is impractical to enforce that only 1 inventor in 1 nation can hold a patent. There WILL be times when two or more similar inventions are being created at the same time since so many nations exist and the fact that NS is "imagined" to be on hundreds of "worlds" called regions with different tech levels.

And then there is enforcement. The patent system in the RL works because the world is more or less dictated by one hegemonic power, with international institutions like the World Bank, the UN, and IMF all controlled by the US. The same system would not work thirty years in the Cold War when two world systems existed. It wouldn't work in NS where there is no one single nation which overpowers all the rest, where different "worlds" exist.

Okay guys, I can now name my national leader. Who should it be? Izaya or Mikado?

Mikado.
