WA News, "Repealapalooza" Edition: The attempted repeal of the recently enacted GAR #351, "Nuclear Material Safeguards", was defeated 9,591 votes to 4,944. Apparently the Assembly has finally made up its mind for now and has come down in favor of the right to pursue nuclear technology without WA interference.

Next up for vote is another proposed repeal, this time of GAR #182, the "Renewable Research Commitment". The repeal author argues that this resolution is badly worded, confusing in places, and mandates taxes with no clear understanding where the money is coming from nor where it's going to. We agree with their arguments, and recommend a Yes vote on the repeal.

Greetings!

WA News, "Repealapalooza II: Electric Boogaloo" Edition: General Assembly Resolution #182, "Renewable Research Commitment" was repealed 10,013 votes to 3,539. So we're currently 2-1 on repeals this running.

Next up for vote is yet another proposed repeal, this time of GAR #333, "Preserving Antimicrobials". The repeal author is arguing that the proposal has serious flaws, such as requiring that antimicrobials used on livestock be severely limited, not considering that such usage is pretty much necessary for sanitation when slaughtering livestock and processing meat. It's a good argument, and we recommend approving the repeal, hopefully to get a better-worded resolution on the books.

Yay, yet another Anime that I can actually look forward to watching; Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. :D

WA News, "Bugs in the System" Edition: The proposed repeal of General Assembly Resolution #333 "Preserving Antimicrobials", was defeated 9,426 votes to 2,699. While the region here supported the repeal, it appears that a there was a lot of resentment about the way the repeal author, John turner, tried to promote it, including accusations of ad hominum attacks and failure to go through the proper drafting process. So it's still possible the resolution could be repealed later.

Currently up for vote is a proposed "AI Coexistence Protocol". It addresses two issues surrounding artificial intelligences (AIs). The first rules that AIs that can be demonstrated to be sapient like anyone else have to be treated like anyone else. The second is a prohibition on artificial self-replicating organisms, whether sapient or not, without some kind of safety feature to keep them from running amok (the "gray goo" phenomenon). Overall, it's a fairly well-drafted proposal, and as we imagine there are a lot of self-aware robots in in the region, it's probably in our best interests to support it.

Kiss Anime also has a drama channel now.

Happy new year!

Happy New Year!

Come on people, what about those who don't celebrate or acknowledge Gregorian New Year? You could have just triggered them by insensitively well-wishing them.

I urge you all to use the more universally friendly and politically correct alternative "Happy Passage of Time"

Anime watchers

Happy late New Year! (Sorry if I offended, I'm not PC)

Eien no white

Haha Happy Passage of Time! (I'm DEFINITELY going to start using that)
