He lives! How are you Asi?
Hey Asi don't know if you saw but the region moved to Future Tech.
Welcome back.
Slow day on the RMB.
Well the rmb went on a bender last night. Very sick today.
Ahh... Gotcha... Can't say I haven't been in that position before.
I feel I need to clarify, I was making a joke.
I'm aware. I however, am not.
Your right, we're both well known for killing fascists and having a good time.
So, we're in future tech right?
That is correct.
I want to thabks everybody for their support in this eection I can't wait to get started.
You guys know our new space region is missing? Did you say space pirates and rebels? Because it's space pirates and rebels. Any ideas how we could implement this into the region? Might add more depth to regional canon and RP.
There could be colonies beyond the direct control of our empires which are rebellious in nature. These colonies could band together to fight for greater sovereignty from their respective homelands. They may even fight for representation in the Confederacy. As such colonies are denied/silenced/oppressed/destroyed, the remainders could rise up in revolt.
If this sort of thing has happened before, the remnants of former failed colonial revolts could band together as pirates. Successful revolts could be used as the background of one's own nation, if they so wish.
Otherwise, there could merely be rebellious/libertarian/confederate factions within nations fighting for decentralization, confederation and/or dissolution of their respective interplanetary empires.
As for pirates, they could be rogue military forces, the militant arm of criminal sindicates or appear due to any number of historical pirate backgrounds.
Regardless, rebellious and criminal/pirate groups will probably be more overly powerful in backwater and lightly colonized areas, having more subtle strength in more established areas.
I've noticed the lack of any "formal" government in the northern fringes of the galaxy. Perhaps right now it could be considered the "hot bed" for rebel and pirate activity.
Pirates and criminal groups certainly. Strictly rebellious groups seem more likely to stay within their colonies (due to a lack of funds, means and motivation). Rebellious groups that turn to criminal means to accomplish their goals, however, seem likely candidates to at least try building connections and possibly even establishing bases in that area.
I was thinking rebels in the sense of a group that is within a colony, (like you said) as well as possibly having established a base on a asteroid or lone planet or something. Perhaps funded by a corporation or as you send, criminals. In the Bougheyian's case (for example), the Coalition of Suns is a remnant of the nations of the continent "Ukron" on our homeworld of Alexandria. Left over from the Bougheyian unification war. Their basically religious wackos who worship the sun and are continually funded by corporations within the Bougheyian empire.
In turn, this may help to prevent nations fighting each other (because I think we all know we have wars to "spice" things up) and instead focus on fighting rebels, or working with neighbors to defend shipping lanes from pirates. While also giving us a common enemy. What do you guys think?
I'm confused. Aren't we all indigenous to Earth?
Yah, homeworld was a bad word to use. I meant capitol planet. The seat of your government.
Can I be on the map?
Of course. Any preference on where you want to be?
So is ^that^ our flag now?
