For in case of new markets and stuff of a nature like that don't you know? And poor Effulgnce over there too you see? Once that girl gets an idea into her head boy, she's off. I'm getting reports that this region just turned three thousand, six-hundred and fifty days old as of now. So it did. Sorry about that folks. I had to do it. There was no choice. NO CHOICE! No better alternative either. I'll be around mostly Sunday this weekend but I will be here mornings and evenings till then.

I have known the majority of you, by your nation name at least, for years and years and years. Thank you all for what you have given me. A place to explore. Challenges to overcome. A place to lay back and get to know what's going on over there. I said it before that even though you and I may have never spoken to each other in all this time, I know and respect you just the same.

I find it fitting that of all the regions I have encountered over the past ten years, this is one of the few that made themselves known for nearly six of those years through their tenacity and devotion towards something larger than themselves before my eyes. What I am looking at today is tomorrows future. Absolution will always be what it is. True to our nature. Neutral and independent. We are especially now among the most senior regions of this site and all of what we did and will do is because of people like you. Every Founder dreams of finding people that are driven in different areas to help them develop a common idea. I have always had that here and it is that which has made the difference. Yes, I just borrowed Frost there. :p

I still remember coming here out of the blue and just passed my fifth year anniversary a couple months back.

So congratulations, and cheers to Absolution for getting to the double digits, so few others can say the same.

The rum is always gone. I wouldn't mind staying the weekend, I passworded my region so it's safe, I can take a few days.

Hard feelings? Eh no, life is too short to hold onto things. No one has any time for that. This may not be home anymore but it's still the Motherland so to speak. I still love you people, you're still my favorites. All is well.
Everyone has fights, when you've known each other as long as Assorro and I have known each other those fights tend to be Titan level, unfortunately there are casualties when this happens. That's one of the reasons I made my region, a home for the people I didn't mean to take down with me. It wasn't anything against anyone here, just a home for those I had wronged. I don't think any of us have hard feelings. Life goes on you know?

Assorro, did you know it took me forever to figure out why you called me Tigs? I finally got it after I left.

Nations of Absolution,

10 Years? Well how did that happen?

Once upon a time I joined this Region, almost 7 years ago now I was invited by Effulgnce and it was followed up with a message from Tamatun.

No sooner had I joined than I was being reminded by the head of our Interior Ministry, Areith, that I was required to endorse our WA delegate Arming republics. That was the beginning of my curiosity as to how this Region came to be, what were it’s policies, it’s laws, what were the foundations upon it was built and so I read and I researched, I got involved in our active Forum at the time, I watched more than I spoke, I listened and I learned.

Then came the time, foolishly probably at the time, to throw my hat into the ring during an election, my first outing was unsuccessful, so I knuckled down, applied and held a role in the Interior Ministry as a Constable, then applied for a role as a Recruiter and it was there that I found my feet.

My next election outing was my making, Arming republics put me through my paces, and rightly so, I was subsequently elected as Ambassador and the Recruitment Team went on to reach for the stars, the heights of population Absolution achieved will probably never be seen again, but what a ride, there are names within the Recruitment Team at that time that will always be written within Absolution history.

7 years later the corridors seem to be more quiet, the excitement of a Forum, elections, Regional roles, scaling the heights of achievements, that was another time, and I am proud to have been a part of that era in our history.

Absolution though still bears the plaque above the door “Absolution, a little place of forgetting”, and quite rightly so, how many of us first arrived because of that message? How many of us were inspired by the promise that you can be what you want to be, do what you want to do, get involved or not, Absolution comes with a freedom and an equal voice.

Nations come and Nations go, that’s the nature of the world we now live in, commitments in real life change, what once was a group of younger visionaries within NationStates, well we’re all 7 years older now, but that experience has not been lost, and there’s still a bond, there is no greater example of that than Atlantigria arriving today to celebrate with us, your friendship Ria you’ll never know the extent of how important it means to me.

Life is short enough, let’s just get on with it, love the people around us, enjoy each other’s company and when it comes to grudges? Well there’s no time for that, we’ve all been through far too much, spent far too much time with each other, we are simply a group of people bound through Absolution, and it is fitting to note our current WA Delegate The Sheika is now approaching 2 years in the role.

But what about our Founder? Well Assorro has been there from the beginning, the driving force behind the scenes, the innovator who takes great pride in his work, at times can take on too much pressure, but everything he does is always from a good heart, Absolution would not be here if were not for Az.

I am very proud to be part of Absolution, what we have created and will create in the future, the people we have here today I call my friends, and the people we knew along the journey of the last 10 years, well they will never be forgotten!!

You've been around a while Dialland. Did you come here directly from 5 million or did you do some exploring first? Curious people gotta know and I'm one of them.

Atlantigria, why is the rum always gone? This has happened to me four separate times over the past ten years. Was it the Mime-Pirates or the Mime-Police? Hey, did you know they cancelled season three of Agent Carter? Now there's this huge cliffhanger just hanging in limbo within the Marvel universe.

You're here and that's all that matters. Not one of you is just another number. You're people. People who have been here for ages and I appreciate that. I'll recognize everyone here for the rest of my days.

I failed to realize years ago what this little place of forgetting meant to members. I've had members in the past tell me directly that this is the only thing in their lives that remains stable. There have been members who are not trusting of other places around the net and look forward to reading my ramblings. See, I thought I was just another Founder of another region. I told people that Absolution is just a webpage.

Now I see what it means to people. It's uniqueness in the world. I've never once been told this is the worst region in NationStates but I've read numerous times how it's the best. Years ago I didn't know quite how to take that. How does one judge a region? I've spent too much time on this side of the fence as a Founder but from what I have gathered it has a lot to do with comfort.

I asked the question in the beginning, what kind of region are we to be? This was the response from members at the time. It's in part why I always say that this is your region. I just work the lights. It is you that directs the show.
