You know what I think is in order? A road trip!! What better way to honor the Judge - a true 'man of the highways.'

It's a perfect time of year - to go just about anywhere. So let's hit the California 101, head north and make some great pit stops:

Trinidad - to hang with the surfer dudes
Redwood National Park - to hang with the bears
Klamath - to buy the best smoked salmon in the Pacific Northwest
Ashland - for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival

and finally ... Portlandia!!! (The funnest, hippest city in the U.S.) To hang with the Violent Femmes !!! ;-)

ETD - 7:00 a.m. If you want me to pick you up, tie a bandana around your mailbox.

For those who missed the bus, how about a game of dominoes and some Bee Gees tunes? A couple of JUDGE's favorite things.

Sounds good to me!

Yes Spin! He probably loved that it was called Bones. :)
I'm a little road weary from our trip last week, so hammock time, makers, bones, and the brothers gibb sounds perfect.

This Violent Femme is in the UK at the moment. Official family obligations. ;)

Judgie is here in spirit and an empty bottle of Makers he drank prior to the afterlife is on the table v

Oy!

*Eva tips back her folding chair, rests it against an oak trunk and props her feet on the card table. The cardboard sign on her roadside stand reads "Smoked Salmon, Wholesale prices. Okay, okay, I added a little to cover transportation!"

The table is covered with vacuum-sealed packages of fish and Eva is munching on a piece, coated thickly with cracked pepper, washing it down with "PEACH OO-LA-LONG HONEST TEA".

Fighting boredom, she's checking-out her toe nail polish, done in her favorite Essie shade, "Lilacism". But it's time to shift seasons - maybe something chocolately? "Mink Muffs" looks good enough to drink!*

All these planes, trains and automobiles and NO ONE made it to Clooney's wedding??? What gives?

I think everyone gave up caring?
Plus, the hammocks are cozy and the smores too gooey to leave.

Hey - It's "Lit-Quake" here in SF. 9 days, 800 authors. Yep, 800!

Why am I celebrating Lit-Quake? (other than the fact that I think I was born with a book in my hand) Cause, after 2 years, I finally finished mine. :-) Now the job is to find someone who will take the time to read it!

One of you is thinly veiled - and no, it's not who you think. Although, I 'name' her as she 'named' me. ;-)

Hope wherever, whatever, you're having fun. And about those s'mores .... try spreading the cracker with peanut butter or Nutella, just in case you need a little more sugar.

Eva, have you written a story? You shall bring it to Bonfire Night (Nov 5th) and read some excerpts for us. And this "she" you speak of, I hope you wrote nice things about her. I hear she likes salt and vinegar.

Nice job with the flag, Percy.

Yep -I wrote a book. 291 pages. I thought about that - the importance of 291. Should I bump it up to 292 or scale back to 290? In the end, 291 was just right.

Okay - bonfire night. Guy Fawkes Day, yeah? Let's make it quite a party then. The Judge would heartily concur, dontcha think? What should we eat - sausage rolls?

I don't know about the salt and vinegar, but I do know that her appetite, for just about everything, is quite grand. Sweet/salty, spicy/mild, creamy/crunchy, blond/brunette, curly/straight ...she digs it all. ;-)

The flag sure does look nice. I really wouldn't mind taking the password down, but then we'd get invaded. Thoughts?

Mimes, thanks for the suggestion. I've polled the masses. Come one, come all. VOTE! :)

Eva, I bet "she" digs it all. :p

Just to weigh in, I'm in for removing the password but keeping bad company out…that how I found you guys after all :)

no need for a password with an active founder...

I've just voted for removal. For the reason that Eretz has stated, correctly, I never understood what we had to fear, anyway. At most, an annoying person or 2 might drop by, get bored and leave.

If someone comes along who has a desire to stay, we can put them thru a question and answer process and then vote for their inclusion or ejection. Every current resident would be permitted to ask them one question - a sort of 'qualifier' for their residency. Such as:

"If the Vanite residing next to you had chronically stinky feet - to such an extent that your comfort is compromised - how would you handle the situation?"

Like that ...

There was that period with the Riders invading every small region and that had started to happen with us, hence the password. I believe the WA has dealt with them accordingly (I hope!) so we can try it again. I'm all for a full house. Just play nice. And wash your feet.

The vote passed 5-0. I have removed the password.

More relaxed already!
When is the bonfire again, Percy?

Percy j pickleface

Nov 5th, Kibbie.

Thank you Mimes. :)

You're welcome, Percy!
