I think you are from the Methuselah Generation, Blaat.

I shared this with another region the other day: There is an excellent article by George Friedman of Stratfor out there summarizing the history of the Middle East and their effects on the present. Highly recommended for anyone interested about current developments:

I thought the generation was about when someone joins XKI not about when the nation was founded. Otherwise I have to change my vote.

I am in the decade generation? First nation (Eddwen) was founded in 2013... Does that count?

Welcome to the IslandsUhtceare and The primm!

I'm from the 1800 generation. Why 1800?

I believe that was what our population was at that time Earth Federation.

I'm from the Security Council Generation.

Locally we refer to our generation as "The Super Tuber Generation" when the first young seeded spudz landed in the soil of 10KI and buried themselves and started to send out shoots and spread and multiply, so long, long ago.

Just like a real world leader! You're on your way to being great!

I think I'm part of the 1800 generation, as I joined April 2012.

Oh ok thanks Mark!

And how many of you are in the 10KI family tree?

If not, go sign up! It's totally awesome!

Hmmm... If this is about when the nation was founded, then Aipotu Ruo would be in the decade generation, and if it is about when the nation joins the 10000 Islands, then the Community would be in the shelter generation.

For each of those, which generations would you be in Louisistan?

Ah, it's September 1 Gregorian! That means that the Scow Creek Calendar (which has been one day behind through August) is now in synch with the Gregorian world again (except today is a Friday in SC, rather than a monday...)

Negative insults per minute? We are deeply offended.

I always have a hard time answering this since I joined NS much earlier than I joined XKI. I joined XKI in Jan. 2013, so I'd be New Taco Generation as far as XKI goes.

But I joined NS in 2004, which there's no generation name for that one.

There are names to all generations, they're just not listed because of poll limits. For all the names and timeline of all generations from 2003 see graph 1 that Paffnia made:

I liked it overall, but was troubled by the silent elephant in the room: by mandating individual hours/workrules, it appears to conflict with labor forces that have chosen to unionize and work under a group labor contract. The thrust appears to be opposition to government-mandate rules (and I agree with that), but by refusing to address the union issue head-on, I had to vote no.

I believe that since it's still the individuals choice whether or not one joins a union, it would still be okay. I'll admit I'm not sure about that, though.

If a Private Employer and his or her Private Employees agree to an Employment Contract that specifies union membership as mandatory for labor....then this legislation appears to violate private contractual endeavors.

Why on earth would the employer require mandatory union membership?

Umm...many employers do. The notion that an Employer has the time and energy to negotiate 1,000 separate independent contracts with 1,000 different employees might be a libertarian utopianists dream, but hardly realistic. A single contract that lays out who gets paid what and what everyone's expectations and rights are is a lot easier.

For the same reason, it is easier to allow people to marry and have access to some 1,400 different government benefits than have each couple separately arrange health, benefit, and tax contracts amongst themselves.
