Thirteen zero's! The number 13 is symbolic of bad luck, but if it weren't for bad luck, many people would have no luck at all. Anyway, everyone's welcome, except triskaidekaphobics (people with an abnormal fear of the number 13).

We're 'secular spiritist'[...]!
Uncle Fester: Alternatively[...]twenty-one would work, making it a "happy medium".

Grandmama: [Entering parlor, speaking] I heard "happy medium" --- you flatter me. [Momentarily feigns embarrassment]

Uncle Fester: Well, actually I was saying...[Changes course of thought] Oh yes, you are a "happy medium" over seances, Mama 😀

Grandmama: That reminds me, we didn't have a seance on Friday the Thirteenth last week; we get another chance at it if we use the Julian calendar --- it's something like thirteen days behind.

Gomez: A second chance at a unlucky day!...And in thirteen days! Who, but you would think of that, Mama!?

Morticia: Wonderful idea...More in a year!

Gomez: Thirteen keeps popping up --- could be a sign [Gazes downward, grinning]

Morticia: Ah [said in exhaled breath]...Full moon tonight, the only time I can bare a clearing sky.

Perhaps a family midnight picnic out back at the swamp --- wear my veil for protection from the moonlight. Picnic baskets are so light to pack...What are the customary ants at pinics for?...Ooooh, and nightcrawlers...Makes it so easy when your food comes to you. Well, toppings anyway :)

The Home Shriek Home of The Addams Family wrote:Morticia: Oh I love these cute bags :)
Gomez: Sounds like we're in this for the long haul...Except!...I've got businesses to run. A party game is one thing, but I can't let it interfere with my life!
Grandmama: It's good Thing's at home to feed the pets.
[Quintella continues...]
Uncle Fester: Then what, are you leaving?
[Quintella bids...]
[Lurch groans in slow deep base voice, shaking head]

Quintella: I will join you all down there.

They all descend deep into the dark cellar until they see a faint light deeper in the stairwell.

[Everyone moving slowly as Morticia makes painstaking descent in tight, form fitting dress, with Gomez' assistance]

Gomez: Light at the end of the tunnel!

Morticia: [Somewhat out of breath, speaks] You mean stairs, darling.

Uncle Fester: Could be Asia, we've come so far...

I'd have lighted our way with my eclectric energy and light bulb, but it's been impossible to find on me in this darkness.

Morticia: It could be Hell down there. How can I possibly curtsey before Satan in this tight dress.

Gomez: No worries my dear, should your dress tear (and it probably will) He'll undoubedly be very pleased ;{)

Second round fixture results have been posted for the 2016 IWSC. Congratulations to the 4 teams that are still in the championship. :)

Quintella: No not Hell...

The stairs end and they appear in a small room lit with torches. They see a mirror at the end of the room and paintings along the walls. The paintings depict Penelope and other people dressed in greek clothing. They appear to be smiling.

Quintella:[sits down on some coushions in the corner of the room] Come sit and rest everyone.

Quintella turns to look at a painting that shows Penelope bowing to a man dressed in regal clothing.

Uncle Fester: Alright, so it's all Greek to me.

Grandmama: Oh, this must be Atlantis Plato mentioned. It would be beneath the surfice :)

Uncle Fester: The Atlanta Underground?

Gomez: No, that's Georgia!

Uncle Fester: The Trogan Horse?

Morticia: No that's Troy.

Uncle Fester: Troy, New York?

[Lurch groans in slow deep voice, shaking head]

[Addamses make for cushions with Lurch following, only to remain standing alongside others seating themselves]

Grandmama: [Reclined in cushions turning feet side to side, watching delightedly] I'm not at all used to going so very far without my broomstick.

Quintella: (pointing to the painting) That's Penelope when she first met the old King of Qustamagua. He was a very nice man who cared for his servants like they were his children. Penelope saw him as a father figure, until the day he died.

(she begins to tear up and she takes out a handkerchief and wipes away the tears)

Quintella: Poor King Dronas. Well after we rest up for a while then we go to Edessa, my home kingdom!

The Republic of Querentatoro wrote:Quintella: Well after we rest up for a while then we go to Edessa, my home kingdom!

Grandmama: That sounds so far. Quintella, you wouldn't have a broom closet in here?...I could really use a broomstick to travel on, and meet everyone there.
