Not so much a specific holiday, just the holiday season as an abstract concept. Usually this refers to advent, IE the buildup to Christmas, but definitions vary. With the introduction of thanksgiving and Halloween as holidays in their own right, plus the growing recognition by employers of other traditional holidays around the same time such as Hanukkah or kwanza, the holiday season, and specifically when it begins, has become more and more fluid and open to interpretation.
