Shetl wrote: Christianity in its current form is a religion conceived by Paul the Apostle, who tells us to accept any state, any worldly ruler, as divine (Romans 13:1). Jesus himself asks us to not exert or resist physical or psychological violence, not to accept a position of authority, and to reform society from within. Do you see the difference?
Regarding the Ten Commandments - Matthew 19:
16 Once a man came to Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what good thing must I do to receive eternal life?”
17 “Why do you ask me concerning what is good?” answered Jesus. “There is only One who is good. Keep the commandments if you want to enter life.”
18 “What commandments?” he asked.
Jesus answered, “Do not commit murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not accuse anyone falsely; 19 respect your father and your mother; and love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
20 “I have obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied. “What else do I need to do?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; then come and follow me.”

Note how Jesus omits the Commandments that protect the Old Testament God’s ego:
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.”
“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
And the one that implicitly justifies class society:
“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.”
Which he reverses by adding two new rules promoting equalitarianism.

Socialism didn't exist back then, the entire world was like that, Jesus said to the rich to give away there money, these servants, are they slaves? Or were they just members of the working class? As I just said, there was no such thing as socialism, or communism back then, the age of enlightenment was in the 19th century, not in 0 CE. So how where people to know there was a better way?
