Region: Pony Lands

So, the show seems to be on mid-season hiatus (the wiki doesn't mention anything about that...), leaving us starved for material.
The recent talk of Seaponies and racial minorities got me thinking.
We all know there are three main pony types: earth ponies, pegasus ponies, and unicorn ponies. Since then, there have been vague hints of other possible pony types, such as bat ponies, and fanon often includes concepts drawn from previous generations, such as seaponies. Even changelings are vaguely pony-like.
Some people prefer to stick to the core three, but others like coming up with new pony types. So: what do you all have in your nations? Has anyone here invented particularly original pony types you'd care to share?
