Region: facebook nations

Amigosa wrote:Most of us seems to share a few common denominators in our transition from FBN to NS. A significant amount of time has passed for most of our nations, at least in relation to real time, some more then others. I've noticed a lot of us, including myself, have put our nations into decline or recovering from a decline. Perhaps in an attempt to correct some of the ridiculousness of out military strengths in FBN? One of the more surprising aspects of the transition is how some of you see this as a different universe, alternate reality, ...etc.

As I stated above, it's been about ~400 years for us but that is a more or less a joint timescale thing. As far as how that translates to current Earth years or something that would allow for a greater frame of reference... I have no idea. I will say that similar to what was done with Laptev, Nalydya ended up moving the bulk of her claims from FB-1 to NS-1 just prior to the collapse of that realm.

I (well, most of us in the UMS - a good chunk of the MSers and some other folks as well) have come to enjoy the greater level of freedom afforded us here on NS. Consequently, most of us have somewhat larger claims but smaller military sizes. That isn't to say our fleets our tiny, but back on FBN the bulk of the VRZ reached around ~370k capital-grade vessels (while fielding around 3 million strictly combat types total) while here on NS it hovers around 53k (with less than 80k strict combat types total); I came to enjoy some of the larger vessel sizes and fleet numbers so I'll never truly part with them - at least not with my main nation: that's what alts are for.

As far as alternate realities/universes, etc, are concerned: I generally regard each forums as its own universe. So to be "trans-universal" would mean to literally be RPing out the same nation on/at various places around the web. Hence why I've basically just said the Pords left FB-1... Because I find it somewhat absurd trying to justify claiming the nation continues to exist in a realm where I cannot physically post about them existing. It'd be different if we'd simply just made up FB-1, but we didn't. It actually existed.

Overall though I'd actually venture to say that Nalydya is seeing a "golden age" of sorts. NS is terribly peaceful, and for the most part, we've only been interacting with friends and allies from FB-1 whilst slowly expanding in the Barbarossa I Galaxy.
