WAR ON THE MUDBLOODS

When I become the WAD I will immediately begin the 3 days of candidacy for the IM, and then assume the voting and picking of all government offices.

So, if you are considering running for an office now is about the time to begin preparing for the office you aim to get elected too. On a related note, any nations interested in becoming the Minister of Defense should TG me as soon as possible to give me ample time to decide, and to let the Defense Minister pick a Gendarmerie Officer.

I would also like to announce our zombie apocalypse plan.
For starters, no one is too join the horde or face the BanHammer.
Next, everyone is too research a CURE. If you wish to use your military make sure to TG me first, I will allow only so many people to do so.
If any one has an additional idea for the apocalypse feel free to throw your ideas in the mix.

Ashes Rising and Commie agitators

I recommend using kill squads immediately if someone in the region is using hordes and no one is available to banject.

What is hordes

True nobility wrote:What is hordes

Okay, short version: Depending on how your nation chooses to respond to the zombie apocalypse, your nation will be equipped with "superweapons". Nations which are researching a cure get cure missiles that turn infected back to survivors. Nations that are killing infected citizens can deploy kill squads to convert infected into dead. Nations that choose to embrace the apocalypse and become one with the zombie are able to unleash massive hordes of infected that spread to uninfected.

A more in-depth explanation can be found here:

Office of the Chairman of the People's Republic of Warzone Asia
Created in cooperation with the Warzone Asia Security Directorate and Warzone Asia People's Daily Archives

Official Zombie Survival Guide

Since there has been a great influx of nations since last October, to the point that many nations are not familiar with the annual disaster of the NS zombie apocalypse, the People's Republic of Warzone Asia has seen fit to update and publicize its zombie survival guide so that all workers of the world might be better educated and equipped to brave the coming storm.

Accumulated here is the collective wisdom of all previous zombie apocalypses. These instructions are general tips for keeping your nation alive, and helping your neighbors. While this information will help you, it is still possible that there will be added features that will negate some of these instructions, so use your own good judgement.

Part I- Zombie Apocalypses Explained:
The zombie apocalypse is a yearly tradition on NS. It lasts for somewhere between 24 and 72 hours each year. Given the rate of infection, and the active efforts being made to spread the infection, this time is more than enough for the world population to descend into chaos in leu of a coordinated response.

On the day of the event, special charts and graphs will appear on each nation and region page. The population of that nation/region will be divided into infected, survivors, and casualties. The "people" tab on your nation page will also display "zombie bite" as a major cause of death.

You will find a page marked "zombie control" on the far right, where you will be able to choose your government' response to the outbreak. This page can also be accessed here, though you cannot yet make a decision until the apocalypse has started. Your nation's infection rate will start responding to the option you pick as soon as you make a decision. You will also be able to use specialized superweapons to assist your neighbors depending on which option you pick (see Part IV - Superweapons)

Part II- Response Timing
The more infected there are, the faster the remaining population will become infected and die. Because of this early response is essential. It will be seen that the ultimate survival of your nation is more dependent on timing than on which option you pick.
Infection rates for regions and nations update at the beginning of every hour. If it is at all possible, try to log in and pick your response within the first hour of the event. If you cannot be online within the first five hours of the outbreak, make arrangements now with regional neighbors to make up for your lack of response.

If you cannot be online during this time, you may find a significant portion of your population dead or infected, and if the infection in your nation spreads beyond containment, you may even find yourself ejected from your home region for the duration of the event. If your nation is sent to the rejected realms, it is critical that you move to another safe haven region as soon as possible. Nations left to rot in the Rejected Realms have some of the highest casualty rates, and are prime targets for zombie hordes.

Part III- Choosing a Safe Haven
Note: Residents of Warzone Asia may disregard this section
Infection rates are based on the region you reside in. Therefore the options chosen by your region-mates are just as important as your own actions. Furthermore, since superweapons can only be used on regional neighbors, you should do your best to ensure that your region will be helping you to survive.

Large regions with large numbers of inactive or openly pro-zombie nations should be avoided at all costs. Feeders, sinkers, and the rejected realms are too large for the regional governments to take effective measures to contain infection, at least without taking horrific casualties. Nations located in regions with an inactive government, or a government which is planning to embrace the hordes, should seriously consider evacuation, if only temporarily.

These guidelines may give the impression that a tiny UCR with one or two nations, or even a private temporary refuge are the best option. On the contrary, nations in these regions are the most vulnerable, as they lack the infrastructure to effectively coordinate and the population base for a serious joint effort. The best regions are medium sized, and with an active anti-zombie government.

Here are some notable safe havens:

The Versutian Federation- The VF got their name in being amongst the first regions in the April attack to find the cure. They have a dedicated defense plan and an active government.

Equilism- In recent years, Equilism has led the charge to coordinate interregional efforts against the infected. Their government is proactive and cooperates with other regions to ensure its citizens' safety.

Warzone Asia- I hear their delegate even wrote a guide

Most active anti-zombie regions will make themselves known to potential refugees via the Zombie Emergency Command Center. Try to check in every now and then for the latest developments. However, it you are planning to follow this guide from start to finish, it would be far wiser to seek out your safe haven ahead of time, and if possible, lock it down to prevent being overrun.

It is also worth mentioning that region creation is disabled during the apocalypse. No new regions can be created during this time, and so if you plan to set up your own safe-haven, you should do so before the apocalypse begins.

Part IV- Superweapons
The most chaotic part of the zombie apocalypse is the use of superweapons. Superweapons are special assets that can be used to help your neighbors. The superweapons available to you will correspond to which option you pick and how long you stick with that option.

If you are researching a cure, your nation will be equipped with cure missiles, which you can use to target other nations in your region. The cure missiles will transform your neighbor's infected back into survivors. This is widely considered the best option for regions that wish to become safe havens. Be careful, however, as infected-turned-survivors are not immune to further infection, and can still be turned unless all infected in the region are eliminated.

If your nation is exterminating its infected, you will have the option to deploy Tactical Zombie Elimination Squads (TZES) to other nations in your region. These squads will convert infected to dead citizens. Although some may consider the use of these squads in other nations without their consent to be rude or irritating, it is always better than the alternative of being overrun yourself. Primary targets should be zombie-embracing nations or large inactive nations. If possible, do not use these weapons on nations that are curing themselves. These weapons are also the best option for offensive operations, because zombies killed in this manner stay dead (See part VI - Aid and Offensive Operations).

Part V - Specific Measures in Warzone Asia
Zombie Apocalypses and other similar events are provided for in the constitution of the People's Republic of Warzone Asia. Under the constitution, the acting Chairman may declare a State of Emergency, where the politburo assumes emergency legislative powers. These emergency powers are expanded upon in the Defence Agaisnt April Fools Trickery Act, better known as the DAAFT Act, instituted specifically for this kind of situation. The full text can be found below:

Defence Against April Fools Trickery Act
An Act to fortify the People's Republic against threats from rogue game mechanics

Article 1.1 In accordance with the constitution, a preemptive state of emergency is hereby enacted yearly from minor update March 29th, to major update April 2nd and from minor update October 28th to major update November 2nd.

Article 1.2 A full moratorium on all activities of the People's Legislative Assembly is hereby executed for the same period, with the exception of reviewing legislation passed by the acting administration as provided in our constitution.

Article 2.1 Any and all powers granted or implied by game mechanics during this period are hereby granted to the acting delegate, including, but not limited to:
Creating and implementing border controls, waging war, curing plagues, making graphs, moderating the region, restricting civil liberties, consolidating shares, abolishing the World Assembly, declaring a regional currency, and regulating international political and economic policy.

Article 2.2 The acting delegate shall be granted full powers to enforce all policy decisions of this nature, and to grant devolved power to citizens as necessary

Article 2.3 All citizens and government functionaries acting in official capacity on behalf of the government of the People's Republic of Warzone Asia shall be required to act in the best interest of the native population, in the progressive socialist spirit of the People's Republic, and without personal or political bias, and in accordance with all previous legislation and precedent

Article 3.1 Any nation or faction attempting to use newfound mechanics to destabilize the People's Republic, or encouraging others to do likewise, will be regarded as a direct threat to the safety of the natives, and will be dealt with accordingly by the acting delegate.

Article 3.2 Conspiracy to commit such actions outside the defined jurisdiction of the People's Republic may be used as justification for appropriate preemptive measures

Article 4.1 Any nations or factions granted powers by additional game mechanics is hereby required to use such powers for the general good of the People's Republic of Warzone Asia and its native population, as directed by government officials, previous legislation, and administrative precedent, under penalty of appropriate sanctions from the acting delegate

While the DAAFT Act provides the backbone for much of the response, most actions of the government will be improvised in order to respond to the crisis at hand most effectively. New legislation, or temporary restrictions may be introduced on short notice. Your duty as a citizen of the People's Republic is to adhere to these instructions as closely and faithfully as possible. If you are confused, or are not sure what to do, feel free to ask. The government is working tirelessly to ensure your protection, so be sure to voice any concerns that you may have. If you have any suggestions, even as a new nation or non-citizen, be sure to speak them.

Part VI- Aid and Offensive Operations
After you and your surviving comrades have secured your own region, you may decide to leave the security of your safe-haven in order to assist other regions in the global struggle. Before embarking on your quest, make sure you understand the risks, and have a plan of action. If possible, work together with your region mates via telegrams or IRC. Most of the usual advice about coordinating raiding and defending actions also applies to anti-zombie runs.

What target you pick, and what methods you employ will depend on your objective. If you merely wish to help turn the tide and reverse the global infection trends, your attacks should focus on cure missile bombardment in small regions against inactive nations. Make sure to keep an eye on the clock- remember that more infected will arrive at each update until the region is cleared. In order to avoid having infected reappear in your own region, you may wish to return to your home region for the hourly update. Try to coordinate your runs with other large nations. If you have a puppet account with a larger population, use it.

In larger inactive regions, or in cases where you are attempting to destroy the source of the infection in pro-zombie regions, you should focus on using tactical zombie elimination squads. Coordination and expert timing will be much more important, as you will likely be facing enemy hordes. Being hit with a zombie horde not only increases your own infected and hinders your government's efforts, but it also increases the cool-down of your superweapons. If you do not succeed in clearing a region by the top of the hour, retreat to your safe haven. This will ensure that your nation is affected by the infection rate of the zombie-free region, which will be significantly less, if not negative.

I personally support a 100% cure route for WZEU to help us on the post-apocalypse leaderboards for surviving population. That's just my 2 cents though.

That's more than likely what we'll do, however kill squads might have a very small role. Mostly in too far gone nations.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Elections for the Internal Ministry and other offices will be postponed till after z-Day/Halloween. Due to a lengthy change of delegates I think it's best we wait till after the apocalypse to continue our government change.

Also , anyone interested in the Defense Minister position should TG me soon, so as I can make my decision on the position.

Dimension Facilities, Ashes Rising, and Commie agitators

Apulita, there seems to be a few inactive members still endorsing you, hence stopping Ancian from taking the WAD position. Maybe you should resign from the WA?

I was hoping we could do it more smoothly but it's looking more and more necessary.

Apulita wrote:I was hoping we could do it more smoothly but it's looking more and more necessary.

The compromise in security made by it is notable, but it would speed it up massively. It could take a week before one of your endorsers actually becomes active and withdraws their endo.

Apulita wrote:I was hoping we could do it more smoothly but it's looking more and more necessary.

As an alternative, you could just eject those not keeping to the rules. I mean, it says as much on the WFE. And do you really want inactive nations in the region on Z-Day?

Ejecting much-needed WA nations from a Warzone would be much worse for this region's security than Apulita simply resigning from the WA.

I think that assumes that said WA nations are, in fact, endorsing the correct people and hence contributing to the region's security, which, if I understand the present situation correctly, they currently aren't.

But in any case, you guys do what you see fit.

I have endorse Ancian, and therefore the delegacy switch will happen at the next update.

"WA Delegate: The WZEU Citizen of Apulita (elected 2 years 93 days ago)

Longest-serving Delegate: The WZEU Citizen of Apulita (823 days)"

It finally comes to an end. Let's hope that this administration of WZEU can break the record again.

My WA is needed in my home region, so I couldn't spend several days endorsing the upcoming delegate here waiting for the switch to occur. Therefore, I waited until the Ancian was tied in endorsements with Apulita before I moved my WA here and endorsed him.

Congratulations to Ancian for officially taking office at last, less than a day before the zombie crisis. best of luck, this will be a challenging test of leadership.

Moving a few of my puppets here for safe-keeping during the zombocalypse, and to help in cure research.

Do we really still need the Entering nations shall immediately identify themselves to all Regional Officers or risk ejection part of the WFE?

Ashes Rising wrote:Do we really still need the Entering nations shall immediately identify themselves to all Regional Officers or risk ejection part of the WFE?

I changed it to WA nations, to make it slightly less of a hassle. But the general purpose of having it in the WFE is for security reasons, and there's no reason for that to change.

Also, after the apocalypse we will immediately have the 3 days of candidacy for the IM, and then the vote itself, which will more than likely be a poll. The IM will then immediately choose a Recruitment minister. So applicants for that job should make themselves known to the IM during the election process. That nation should immediately write a welcome TG and send it to me and the IM for approval.

Also , as I've stated before, anyone vying for Defense minister should TG me asap.

RESEARCH A CURE. DO NOT JOIN THE HORDES. When cure missiles are available, use the RMB to focus fire on a single target at a time -- this is far more efficient than hitting nations at random.

Exactly. NO ONE is allowed to join the hordes. Please make sure you are active and fully cooperate with what we are trying to do for the duration of the event.

Its going to be harder over in WZAF since its almost entirely inactive nations over there, you have it a bit easier.
