Heavy machine gun too

Not really. I mean, the zombies don't exactly have any heavy weapons, so if you build a wall and make sure that the door's heavily reinforced, what are they going to do? Groan at it?

There was that thing in WWZ where they just created a giant zombie pile and started climbing over it. I suppose that could be solved by sloping the wall correctly, but I still reckon you'd want some ranged weapons to hit anything that wandered too close. Also to clean out the vicinity before heading outside for fresh air (which could be avoided, but if you're designing a custom bunker you should try to have that luxury) and covering fire for refugees.

Also flamethrowers to stop corpses from piling up. The turrets would need to have flamethrowers.

Or maybe just building a roof. :P

Or an underground bunker

..the wall should be leaning outwards ^^

But wouldn't turrets/gunfire just attract more zombies when used? What about a large pit or moat around the wall?

I'm not sure how the water would be poisoned since the evaporation process should purify it...but I suppose filters could be added to the rainfall collection system or something. I imagine a well wouldn't be poisoned so long as the people were careful.

It depends on what kind of zombies we're dealing with. If they're the smart kind of zombies maybe. Of course if you're in a secluded area to begin with you might only have to use the turrets once or twice.

You could have a moat/pit full of various compounds and organisms that decompose dead flesh. Or perhaps you could have a layer of oil so that when a wave of zombies comes and start falling into the moat you just light the whole thing on fire.

Well I guess we could, if you want to take the easy way. ;D

BTW, this is relevant. http://www.cracked.com/article_18683_7-scientific-reasons-zombie-outbreak-would-fail-quickly.html

I read that article before. While it's certainly reassuring, it totally kills discussion.
I hadn't thought about resistance. I always assumed zombies were just *mostly* dead, or brain dead. Maybe a prion outbreak?
Time for a new poll.

Post by Warzoner Wintermoot suppressed by An angry sports fan from north carolina.

I just assumed zombies would be attracted to sound cause that's how it is on The Walking Dead. :P

New poll! Yay! :D

I don't watch that show, so I'll take your word for it. It does seem to have become the gold standard of zombie apocalypses of late.
The new poll is inspired by a conversation I was having while trying to schedule a live chat session. I'm not sure what to put for myself, because there are some days where I spend every waking moment online, and others where I merely check in at update to ensure nothing catastrophic is happening.

That's a side-effect of having a great community.

I meant to make this poll open to everyone, but the default is residents only. Oh well.

I'm back sorry. My activity may decline for the next week or so. But I will still be on to see you periodically!

Hey, guys! I have a region called Free Zone and basically, if you don't feel that you fit in, you can move your nation over there and not have to worry about banning or the like. If that sounds appealing to you, come join us!

Lel, did you really just try to recruit from us and Lazarus after what you did earlier?

Bad recruiting is bad.

And even worse, the region recruiting is about as generic as generic can be.

I am not...I'm not sure I would be active at all if I were, since I spend so much time on Wintreath's forum. It's pretty easy to swing by and check the RMB, though. :P

I'm hardly active in Lazarus, and I'm a Citizen there ;-;
