Harikene takyando wrote:In the mean time, could you tell me about Warzone Asia?

Okay, so obviously we're a Warzone, which means we play by slightly different rules than everyone else when it comes to administering the region. The region can't be passworded or refounded, which means there's no endgame for regional security. Keeping order requires constant human intervention.

A while ago, a lady by the name of Varikai Sari set up the Empire of Warzone Asia. The empire was short-lived, but its political institutions lay the groundwork for many of our own.

Fast forward to early 2014. As a young freelance defender and detagger, I noticed Warzone Asia had been recently purged. I noticed Warzone Europe, which had tried to fend off the group that was pestering WZAS, and was of course familiar with Warzone Codger's legendary status for having held WZ Airspace for a whole year in succession. So I came in with a few friends I had, and set about stabilizing the place and building relations.

When it came time to set up a formal government, we found we had to balance the need for a responsive, efficient government capable of keeping up with the security concerns inherent in a Warzone, with our ideals of openness and participation. It was also decided by vote that western-style democracies were overdone. So we decided to set up a People's Republic, which also fit in with the "Asian" component of our culture.

We have tried to interpret the best parts of all the different cultures and ideological systems. In particular, in having democracy while also an efficient government with a defined theme. When it comes to interpreting the socialist component, I'm a big fan of a particular quote from Goodbye Lenin:

"Socialism isn't about living behind a wall. Socialism is about reaching out, and living with others. Not only dreaming of a better world, but working to make it come true."

As part of this philosophy, we don't force nations to abide by our theme. Instead, we welcome them to see and join in our society, advancing it however they feel they best can. We strive to become a region where any player can come and contribute.

Greetings Warzone Asia, I am a traveler at the beginning of an indefinitely-long journey through NationStates. This particular nation is just a couple days old but I have actually been playing for about 6 years. My previous nations had all been relatively sedentary so I created this nation to travel freely among friendly regions. Anyway, do you mind if I stay here for a while? Of course, given that this region is less stable than others (as it is a warzone), there may be requirements to be here. I have already endorsed the incumbent delegate but let me know about anything else. I'm not here to cause trouble.

Sounds good, you're welcome to stay. You should also endorse Ismailiyah. Other than that, we don't really have a whole lot of set-in-stone requirements.

The Association of Imperialism does not and will not take nicely to our allies being targeted for such actions. To see them be raided for no reason at all when such regions not admired by AoI could have been targeted; Such as Warzone Australia and Warzone Sandbox.
For this reason we are now going to support the natives throughout this time bother through the support as a region but through our military. Good hunting.

He will oversee the transition back to the proper delegate, North Campbell Nation. THank you for your tolerance the fact that our reaction time is limited by the game to waiting a half day, and the placement of NoblePhnx in the seat, as we were unable to directly contact NCN in time to put him in power himself. There have probably been over twenty of them. I forgot half their names. Some of them I used for a while and then got bored of them and wanted to start anew. Others were just failed ideas created late at night, in an insomniatic stupor. All but one have since CTE'd, or will CTE in less than twenty-eight days. I plan to stay around longer this time.

I will soon be off to explore new (new to me, anyway) regions, seek out civilizations of any age, and meekly go where many nations have probably gone before. I thank you for kindly hosting me on my way.

You get used to it after a while. And you have to, considering that during peak season, there are about 500 posts a day. Every time you reload the page there are three or four more posts.

Yeah, I've seen it. I just can't feel like I'm part of a conversation that moves that quickly. I'm sure some people enjoy that, and more power to them, but for me, it's too frustrating.

I do like having an active conversation, I just like to be able to actually form a coherent response.

True. I'd estimate some 20% of posts within the Warzone are from embassies. The whole embassy posting thing has been great for bringing the Warzones together.

Capitalists Intensify War on Christmas

Traditional Pro-Christmas Posters issued by the Regional Government

With a mere 20 nights until Christmas is upon us, capitalist and reactionary powers have intensified anti-Christmas pressure, including efforts to introduce legislation to ban such traditional holiday staples as Christmas Trees and images of Comrade Santa Claus. In Esamir, efforts have already been made by the imperialist government to suppress local worker-organized radio broadcasts of Christmas music.

Nations of the PRWA have responded by boosting production of traditional holiday trappings with intention to distribute them to the poor of capitalist regions* in a show of solidarity. In The Campbell Nation alone, production of candy canes, Christmas wreaths, and colored lights has increased by 500% in the first week alone. In addition, the federation's Wartime Broadcasting Network has commenced the continuous broadcasting of Christmas and related holiday music on all stations.

For those not familiar with the holiday's origin, Christmas celebrates the birth of Comrade Jesus Christ, a beloved revolutionary figure and social activist known for leading an uprising against the kleptocratic banking system, expanding free healthcare, and instructing his followers to give all possible to the poor. Comrade Christ was executed by the imperialist government for subversion. Although criticized for his "Personality Cult" and radical plans to consign the bourgeoisie to eternal damnation, Comrade Christ remains an important social figure in both socialist and capitalist ideologies.

* Holiday trappings cannot be given to the poor of WZAS because there are no poor citizens in properly adjusted socialist nations, as documented by Karl Marx.

WZEU Report: Nuclear Proliferation Accelerating

Ballooning in WZEU has led to nuclear power becoming the new norm

A recent report issued by energy analysts in Armedegon and reviewed by scientists of fraternal nations in the PRWA has brought new attention the rapid proliferation of nuclear technology of late in Warzone Europe as a cheap means to meet skyrocketing energy demands. Although debate remains about the wisdom of giving such easily weaponized technology to the unstable capitalist oligarchies of the western bloc, the trend towards nuclear power as an efficient source to cash in on the "free market" remains clear.

Official reactions to the report within the politburo have been muted. "It would be hypocritical of the People's Republic to condemn a means of generating power for the masses cheaply and efficiently." Noted an adviser to the Chairman in an official statement. "Of course, [Warzone Europe] must balance these possibilities with the dangers posed by nuclear technology in the wrong hands."

In private discussions, however, security analysts have called the figures mentioned in the report "disturbing" and "leading to highly destabilizing conclusions". An anonymous source within the Warzone Asia Security Directorate, the PRWA's multinational counterterrorism task force, was quick to emphasize that there were no plans for direct intervention against any targets within WZEU. The same source also mentioned that many divisions of WASP (Warzone Asia Socialist Pact) nations have independently ordered alerts in response to the obvious threat to international stability.

Politburo Postpones Immigration Reforms

There currently exists no regulation regarding entry into the PRWA

Following the results of a regional poll which revealed split, but mostly apathetic opinions towards the implementation of stricter security clearance for entrants into the home region, the politburo, which is still acting in a state of emergency, opted to postpone enacting new border control measures until the topic can be properly debated before the People's Legislative Assembly.

Currently, there are no restrictions on incoming nations, other than that World Assembly member nations must endorse the delegate and vice delegate. Although the controversial DAAFT Act gives the administration wide powers to enact nations attempting to subvert the community through "rogue game mechanics", the legislation does not account for relatively ordinary situations, such as spies or non WA raider puppets.

Although a strict interpretation of the constitution suggests that the People's Legislative Assembly could theoretically be summoned even during a state of emergency to debate legislation at greater length, the politburo has already stated that it does not wish to do so, given the likelihood of current events swaying the vote. The politburo quickly added that should events make changes necessary, the continuing state of emergency enables the administration to enact changes immediately of they become necessary.

We used both terms interchangeably for the early days of the People's Republic. The first term fell out of favor as opinions shifted away from a a military campaign to colonize all Warzones towards a more subtle, voluntary integration of existing native governments. The details are a bit contentious; different factions have different ideas of what ought to be done. But the idea of solidarity and mutual cooperation is deeply rooted in the People's Republic, and I would say in all the Warzone communities.

Apulita wrote:Warzone Europe and Co. :P

Haha, That was basically the version of it I was given when I first got here. Or at least that WZEU had been trying to hold everything simultaneously against another group, and had run out of troops.
