In the Middle Ages, someone said that the crossbow was the ultimate weapon and the trebuchet was a WMD.

Things have improved quite a bit since then in the ability to kill in quantities. :P

One fellow strived to create a weapon to be so powerful as to render war silly. This man was Richard Gatling, namesake of the Gatling gun. Powerful, indeed, but it took over 80 years from its initial use for a weapon to be developed to render all-out war truly silly.

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend? I know I'll be locked up in a boring, unfurnished room working on final papers for the semester. Someone have anything going on so i can enjoy life through you :) ?

Nothing special, just cleaning, shopping, laundry, and a date tonight.

Whatcha seeing? Film/Play?

I spent today recuperating and catching up on house work. Yesterday was my BFF's wedding and I was her Maid of Honor. I did meet some interesting guys at the reception and I didn't get home until 5 am.

Very cool!

I spent the weekend visiting relatives in another state. These "Family" meet-ups are a pain when I have nothing in common with everyone else, besides a blood relationship. I spent two days just sitting there, but noblesse oblige. :(

We saw Kevin Spacey in Clarence Darrow at the Old Vic. It was ab fab. :D

*still recuperating*

I like gatherings of my immediate family, but I can do without the extended family. I have absolutely nothing in common with my cousins. I don't think that we live in the same world.

It was an interesting performance. I love the theatre, more that the cinema. There are so many plays to see where I live.

Your family is dysfunctional?

Stuck in Tennessee right now.

TG for photos and videos, otherwise I wouldn't know half of what I did that weekend. Champagne can play havoc with your recollections.

The extended family is, for sure.

That's a shame :( Like any family, there is a black sheep in mine. ;)

Still alive. Went through two bouts of food poisoning though.

For real or was it a hoax? Did you have to evacuate your dorm?

I did not have to evacuate, and they announced an all clear. We think it was a hoax.

OMG! I hope that you're better now. Cafeteria food is not the best, for sure.
