Here, in the early 60s, John Lennon was the leader of the insanely popular four-piece band The Beatles. (Karl) Marx was a philosopher, economist and author of German descent. His “Communist Manifesto” greatly influenced Vladimir Lenin who would go on to lead the communist revolution in Russia.

Lennon flirted with far-left ideologies, so this line plays on the similarity between his name and that of communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin.

As noted in a 2015 article on CBC Music, “The quartet practiced in the park” is a reference to the Beatles' final public concert, in San Francisco’s Candlestick Park, on Aug. 29, 1966, according to Jim Fann, creator of the website Understanding American Pie.

The emerald world wrote:To be fair, the Nazis attacked Russia in the winter. Which was a really bad idea, especially if you use Napoleon as an example.

Which is funny, because the only part of that statemment that's true is the fact that attacking Russia in the winter is a bad idea. Operation Barbarossa was launched in the first third, almost the beginning of the second third of summer, June 22. Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, According to meteorologists, extends for the whole months of June, July, and August

Aw, crap. To be fair, I barely remember anything about Operation Barbarossa from when I learned about it a few years ago.

In other news, it appears that the Emeraldian Credit is now the most valuable currency in the region.

I'm sixth for trade :-)

Darath wrote:(Except cheaper and not requiring as much radioactive materiel but pretty much-(We have the Tech to do this IRL we just don't)) Well it could probably be modified to take shells easily . . . or you could just pour ball bearings in it . I would have thought easy access to ammo without having to depend on supply lines would be part of the selling point. However you are the customer and the device can be easily modified to fit specifications. I assume with the shell feed modification we have a deal?

Well, when you've got a family (which owns all steel production in the nation) that is pretty much owned by the government and vice versa, steel becomes obscenely abundant.

Of course! I'd like 500 of them. I might buy more later on, though :P

Good news, We've solved the problems with the KX98 "Zeus", give it... a few more days, a week tops for production. Then we'll be ready to send it to you.

Are you in particular need of anything?

The united republic of the helghan race wrote:We have a substance we beam into our soldiers that hydrates and nourishes them that is beamed into their stomachs and blood streams so they stay healthy and so they don't have to leave their armor

Why run the risk of beaming it in, when you could simply pump nutrition straight into their systems with a needle assembly within the armour? Would avoids digestive transit too.

The united republic of the helghan race wrote:No it is sent in once then beamed out then more is sent in from the pack they always carry and the substance multiplies so it's infinite

So we hack the armour to beam an infinite amount of nutrition into the wearers digestive system. Bowels & spleen rupture, or the wearer simply drowns in food slurry as it backs up the digestive system & into the lungs. That assuming we don't also hack the beaming system to pump the food straight into the brain.

The united republic of the helghan race wrote:All urine gets purified into water for emergency use and the rest is beamed out into another dimension :-) we've thought of everything when it came to this armor and good luck taking it off of them it's fused to their bones and muscles acting as their new skin (the troops that volunteer know the risks and sign a waiver saying it's ok to have the armor as the new skin

So they are in fact cyborgs, and you are an ecological vandal dehydrating this dimension.

The Iron Stars wrote:That's kinda the point. It's impossible to lead an empire with only 100'000 soldiers. The more you whine about these restriction the more I was right to place them on you. You cant solve anything without relating it to your military.

Of course an army of 100,000 courtesans could be skillfully used to lead an empire, and induce other states to join it... "make love not war" ;-)
