Also, I see some nonsense about an "assault rifle". You should know that that is merely a superficial classification used to describe the look of a weapon. Some states loosely defined it by referring to numbers of attachments, hypothetical magazine capacity, et cetera. That's bunk. It means nothing. Don't throw that term around. It makes you look stupid. If you want to talk gun control without talking about a complete ban, talk about limiting magazine capacity. Civilians don't need 30-round mags or drum mags or any such bullshit.

Same. It's not just guns though, it's everything. Every single bad news story ends with a new legislative proposal and generally the Dems trying to give the state more power.

The party that rightly beat GW Bush's party in large part because of the issue of protecting due process rights and fighting the Patriot Act, sat in the floor last week and threw a tantrum because they couldn't pass the patriot act with guns.

So.. You think robberies won't happen without guns? Have you seen the internet videos where criminals use rocks to just beat people into submission? They don't even bother to say "give me all your money". They just run up, club their victim, take the money and run. That's so much better! So let's throw our rights and common sense out the window because guns kill. Guns don't kill. People do. Which, if you go to your local school and KILL people, you're doing the killing. Not a gun. Not a rock. Not a bomb. Not a knife. Not a sword. Not even a spoon. The weapon of choice doesn't even matter. Our government is vilifying guns, and people such as yourself are eating it up, because a disarmed society is an enslaved society. If we are unable to defend ourselves from common criminals, we cannot defend ourselves from radial religious groups nor our own government. Like it or not, the government is power hungry and they'd rather sir on their lazy asses and make us work for them. Best part is, We can't get to the poles fast enough to vote these charlatans in!!! And they love that. And when they win, we lose. Same with there Muslim terrorists. They are hell bent. I mean HELL BENT on our deaths. That might not scare you enough to take up arms and run to defend this country but it does me. And I conceal carry almost everywhere when I'm off duty. And I'll defend each and every person around me, along with myself, should something happen. Whether it's a robber, mad man, terrorist or my own government, I'm ready to defend. I don't live in a world of peaches and ice cream and how dare everyone upset my reality of rainbows and unicorns. I live in a real world where small time robbers, thugs, gang bangers, crazy people, terrorists and bad government officials exist. I live in a world of bad people. Bad people who want to see my fellow Americans die or get hurt.

We don't need to increase restrictions. The Orlando guy went through FBI checks (and fun fact, FBI wasn't saved in my phone as a legitimate word/acronym.. I had to add it, I find that funny). He carried a weapon for his job, as do I. That doesn't mean that I'm a bad guy or he wasn't. It means that bad people are going to get through any restrictions put in the way to carry out their deadly schemes. It means criminals already intend to commit crimes so the restrictions we have and the potential for more restrictions will only affect the law abiding citizens of this nation. It will only leave us unprotected. The government has over a hundred years of bad choices and showing us that their red tape only makes things worse for good people. The government isn't able or willing to protect us like it's our mom and dad. That's our job. It takes the police several minutes to respond. It would take the average, well trained citizen seconds to protect themselves. And heaven forbid the day the government has us fooled enough to really take away our power and completely roll over us. It's sad enough that the government has so much of our society fooled. Fun fact, most robberies occur because the criminal is looking to get money to feed their addictions. Not because of an uneven wealth distribution. And I really find myself laughing at the thought of wealth distribution. I feel as if too many people look at the rich and are offended that they aren't getting their fair share, which is laughable because we aren't entitled to a share of wealth. We're entitled to make our own. To work smart, to work hard and earn our own wealth. And the hippy part of me says we aren't rich when we have a ton of wealth. We're rich when we have friends we love, family we love, hobbies we love and a job we love. But that's that rainbows and unicorns crap that really is almost impossible to find. Rainbows are rare and unicorns aren't really real. Not the ones you find in fairytales anyway. Lol. Anyway, thank you for the last comment. I mean what I said. I love my work. I am ashamed of my government and I don't agree with many of my fellow citizens but I'll stand up to protect them Abby day. Any time.
