DIPLOMATIC COMMUNIQUÉ RE: INTRODUCTION TO PRINCIPAL LERODAN NATIONS

To whom it may concern,

We address you with the intention to explain some of the main nations on lerodas so that you may have a better understanding upon your arrival. We hope this helps you to discern the main players and will attempt to remain... objective during our descriptions.

The main factions/pacts on Lerodas, currently, are as follows;

The Fraserland Union Pact: The Fraserland Union Pact began as a coalition of protectorates and their protectoree, Fraserland. Generally neutral in foreign politics, they are believed to have an anti-Vanhanian slant to their foreign policy due to historical tensions between Fraserland and Vanhania, but this has rarely demonstrated itself outside of speeches made by the late prince. The FUP (Fraserland Union Pact) on a whole is perhaps best viewed as an extension of Fraserland's foreign policy, it is a defensive pact that attempts to guarantee neutrality in all matters of the coalition. Currently it is comprised of Fraserland, Libertas liber and Cape cardinal

The Solar Pact: After the fall of the Khalite on Lerodas, Khalikhan has endeavored to once again to create a chain of allies. Inspired by the previous Solfasist Pact, the Solar Pact aims to share technology and resources between the member nations, as well as provide mutual defence and aid in case of humanitarian (or other) emergencies. It has thus far championed the cause of Kraslavian reparations, but does not appear to be specifically pro or anti any particular nation at this time. Being comprised of Khalikhan, Kraslavia, [nation]Paixão[/nation] and Aquarius; however, it may be assumed to harbour suspicions against Vanhania and its close allies.

The Novan Order: Upon the dissolution of the UNC by Vanhania, Vanhania was prompt to join a new alliance, the "Novan Order", commonly abbreviated to NOVA or the 'N.O.'. The Novan Order is an attempt by the Superpowers of Lerodas - namely Vanhania, Khalite and Spiritualiza to divide the planet into "trispheres" (as opposed to a hemisphere) of influence. Centre, East and West, respectively. These would be policed by their respective superpowers (or "Harbringers", in NOVA lingo). The pact's stated objective is to thus maintain peace on Lerodas in preparation for hostile intervention from beyond the Solar System. On Lerodas, however, the pact is often criticized for being an attempt to hegemonize and unify the superpowers' influence to an unbreakable level. It currently comprises of, Vanhania, Khalite, Cape cardinal, after Spiritualiza left NOVA.

The New Dawn Alliance: The New Dawn Alliance (aka NDA) was formed with the objective of unifying North Western Lerodas - known by many on the continent as Novestur (although some nations outside of this continent have since been included). It aims to reduce the influence of foreign powers such as the UNC, SP and FUP on its member nations, helping them to remain independent through a defence pact, technology sharing and eased intra-alliance trading. As part of its unification objective it aims to help resolve disputes between NDA member nations in a peaceful manner. The NDA is currently comprised of Valyrian freeholds, Felkesjud, Aranyus, Thaomar and Entios. The NDA is currently part of NOVA, acting as the Harbringer for the Western Trisphere.

The following is a comprehensive description of the biggest nations in Lerodan Politics, a brief summary of their culture, believed foreign policy aims/attitudes and any important recent events in their history (specifically foreign policy related)

Khalite/: A highly militaristic society, led by a dictator known as Commissar Zytzev (a title as much as a name). Its citizens, an amalgam of several races, are fanatically loyal to their leader, who takes the form of a near-religious leader as much as a political or military one. Once one of the dominant forces on Lerodas, and the leader of the infamous Eastern Order, a recent civil war lead to it abandoning it's land, power and much of its influence for a colony on a different planet within the solar system that it had been preparing for several years. Now, the Khalite has returned, attempting to regain influence in the East while it acts as the East's Harbringer in the NOVA pact.

The Khalite's influence and power remains in space and groundside, too. The Khalite now aggressively polices much of the Nova System's asteroid field and other stellar bodies; detaining, attacking or otherwise hindering forces - both interior and exterior - that attempt to establish a presence in the system. Some reports appear to imply that even the civilian craft of certain nations are not exempt from harassment and perhaps even destruction. The Khalite's presence in space is bolstered by the presence of a series of mega-conglomerates that variously provide equipment, logistics, banking and other services to both the Khalite and other nations.

Khalikhan: One of three nations produced by the collapse of the Khalite, and originally a colony of the Khalite, Khalikhan has established a relatively moderate (although still authoritarian), leftist government. It has inherited the Khalite's characteristically multi racial society, being primarily composed of Humans, Selakus and Meilong. Led by an elected dictator of sorts, its relatively basic military is significantly less powerful than it's father nation's - although it should not be underestimated - and heavily armed Special Forces are to be feared. An improved navy and a circle of allies mean it should not engaged with lightly, however.

Khalikhan has been locked in war with Fourmica Mymexia for several years, bolstered by Paixân troops and contingents of Kraslavian and other Solar Pact troops.

Canus: A fascist nation with a strong belief in a master race of its species - the Canus, canine hominids - it is eternally locked in war with its rival Fourmica Mymexia, and is now under attack on a second front by the Khalite, who seek to regain their lost territories. Originally a genetic aberration precipitated by a form of PTSD, Ebon Syndrome created Canus with night black fur. Canus affected by Ebon Syndrome were more intelligent, brutal and cunning then their unaffected brethern, and with the collapse of the Khalite, several of the most ambitious Ebon Canus were able to rally under a single banner, claiming independence and eventually forming a nation of their own. They are generally too dangerous and ambitious to be reasoned with, diplomatically (and usually too engaged in war with their rival to do so anyway), but may at times be allied with on a very temporary basis to achieve a common goal. Alliances such as these must, however, not be trusted at any point.

Fourmica mymexia: A nation of insectoid sentients, originally a product of the Khalite's State Genetics Program. 'Liberated' during the revolution that saw the Khalite's downfall and exile form Lerodas, they see all humans and humanoids as 'oppressors', seeking to rid the world of them, by destruction or enslavement. They possess a complex hive mind system and a Communist style economy. Most workers and soldiers possess little in the way of intelligence, and Fourmica Mymexia's military tactics often reflect this, with wave attacks and massive casualties the norm in their military operations. They expect, and are very able to absorb, massive losses. Fourmica Mymexia is locked in war with the ever weakening Canus as well as Khalikhan.

Vanhania: A nation populated almost universally by the Vahr species - a species of smaller hominids with several unique feature (e.g. they breed faster, have faster reflexes, have a "hive mentality" of sorts and also glow... check out Van's factbook), Vanhania has a rich history. Historically speaking it has been a leader in world politics up until around two centuries or so ago, when the arrival of other nations changed the balance of power. It harbours a strong, long standing and hostile rivalry with Fraserland. This has lead it to have historical qualms with Sovaji (after it led a series of wars and occupations of it for peacekeeping purposes). Historically speaking, it once had ties with Paixão before the occurrence of a Vanhanian civil war led to the break down of relations between the two nations, and has held the nation of Spirtualiza as a close friend. Militarily Vanhania is strong and in possession of space to ground assets (the Hammer of Dawn system). Vanhania has been at peace for some time now, after a brutal war with Kraslavia ended in a stalemate, over a decade ago.

Vanhania remains strongly religious, and a hive mentality maintains a level of uniformity amount Vahric popular opinion. Believing themselves, to an extent, to be a 'chosen race', the Vahr often see humans and other species as "inferior" - often little more than mere animals. That said, Vanhania has been shown to have some tact and diplomacy when negotiating with humans.

Libertas Liber: One of the few freely capitalistic nations of the CoG, Libertas Liber is a moderator when it comes to foreign policy. They have, perhaps, one of the most comprehensive constitutions of the Coalition. The nation is a centre for banking and other financial activities in the CoG, providing fiscal services for many. This generally ensures it stays well away from most warfare, and it actively discourages just about every form of warfare - although these pleas generally fall on deaf ears.

Recently, its purchase of Svinnir, on the continent of Novestur, have caused tensions with locals. Some sources report that a pro-independence (or, at the very least, anti-Liberan) movement is developing, and violent insurrection is not out of the question.
OOC; Libertas Liber is great for developing anything political with your nation or for conducting diplomatic/economic RPs. He's experienced and willing to help.

Fraserland: "The Sleeping Dragon of the North" sleeps no more. After a change of king... by force... Fraserland's new King (the old prince) has decided to become increasingly involved in foreign politics. The nation of Fraserland has been historically incredibly isolationist, rarely speaking up about topics, and up until a brief skirmish with Blackgrue forces just before the dissolution of the Solfasist Pact (which prompted a ceasefire between Frasian and Blackgrue forces) had never (in the history of Paixão) engaged in war with another nation. While the ceasefire is holding true for the time being, only time will tell how the situation develops. Historically, Fraserland and Vanhania vied for control over large parts of Lerodas for many of its earlier years.

The average Frasian is a four armed hominid of large proportions - more than 2 metres tall. Fraserland is strong militarily, with both space assets and a strong series of ground assets avaiable to it. Partly due to its incredible isolationism until late, many Frasian cities are in large underground complexes, making it a difficult country to invade successfully.

Sovaji: An island nation known for its uniquely eccentric culture and lax control on information. It seems to suffer internal strife on a semi regular basis. From rebels to insane despots, Sovaji has historically caused a lot of trouble both for itself and the international community that attempts to save it. Recently however, under the guidance of the Khalite and the Solfasist Pact, it has been able to rebuild and stabilize itself politically to a huge degree, becoming a powerful exporter of good such as TV shows, electronics and (unofficially) state secrets. Their foreign policy is generally neutral on most topics, and in Paixão's history they have never been known to use troops outside of their own borders. With the dissolution of the Solfasist Pact they had been left relatively neutral - without friends or enemies but otherwise stable. This was true throughout the Vanhanian/Kraslavian war. Since its end, however, it has joined the Solar Pact.

Sovaji has become an increasingly strong economic power, and through this period of unprecedented stability has shown itself to be a reliable trading partner and nation capable of handling its own orbital and extra-orbital projects.

Spiritualiza: An extremely large, very militaristic nation that tends to keep itself to itself. It appears to have imperialistic ambitions, but generally remains quite calm and isolationist. Considered "dangerous and unpredictable" by the Paixân Foreign Office for its erratic foreign policy behavior, it is hard to put a finger on what its long term objectives are (if any). Spiritualiza is known to be an oppressive dictatorship, and most of its citizens are given few freedoms (and punished harshly when they attempt to exceed these). Militarily, Spiritualiza has few morals and fights wars in the bloodiest way it can, at times going out of its way to be more brutal and unpleasant than most would deem strictly necessary. Until a relatively short time ago a member of NOVA, Spiritualiza has since left NOVA what it felt were an insulting series of talks with its other NOVA partners, and has now formed (and leads) the UWC, a coalition of Fascist Nations in the West, somewhat rival to the NDA and generally distrusted.

Kraslavia: Kraslavia has arguably risen to its position on Lerodas through careful alliances and canny political maneuvering. Originally siding with the Solfasist Pact, Kraslavia began an overhaul of its infrastructure with Khalite funds and technology - constructing the first of two orbital elevator on Lerodas. Racked by a three way civil war, the country emerged from the war led by a political movement perhaps best described as "Democratic Noncentralized Socialism" - and well summarized as "Democracy and Socialism as far as the eye can see and not further.". In practice, this equates to issues being voted on by small scale communities that live, work, and produce together and (with some restricts) make their own laws. Kraslavian culture is relatively liberal, and a love of good food, good music and good company is near universal; yet family values remain an important element in Kraslavian life too. Kraslavians are generally good hosts to foreigners and friends alike.

When it comes to foreign policy, Kraslavia is perhaps best described as a peddler of its own brand of Democratic Socialism. It is a solid and reliable member of the SP, however it is distrusting of the former for its Vanhanian leadership (despite Vanhania's membership of the Kraslavian led International System of Scientific Cooperation, ISSC). It harbors some positive relationships with the CCCK (Khalite) due to its aid during a recent Vanhanian territorial invasion. Kraslavia's main contribution to its foreign policy is believed to be that of its mythical Red Spectre teams. Crack teams of insurrectionists and propagandists that aim to spread Kraslavian ideas of freedom and socialism throughout Lerodas, supporting local rebellions with weapons and information.

Militarily Kraslavia has developed a series of unique technologies that make it a slippery foe. While its infantry can only be described as unremarkable, technologies such as "liquid armour" for its armoured vehicles, lighter than air metal compounds and "Telebots" - large, remote control humanoid killing machines - make it a potentially dangerous enemy. It makes use of these technologies to create a primarily airborne driven attack force, supplemented by point artillery strikes and armoured pushes (via telebots) to break enemy lines.

Fabrium: A nation of sentient artificial constructs - robots, essentially - Fabrium has debuted on the international stage with a series of ambassadorial meetings to representatives of several nations, establishing a base from which it can determine where it will stand in Lerodan politics. While Fabrium's citizens are, in a literal sense, robots, they have several key differences that are uncharacteristic of conventional artificial intelligence. A Fabrium's brain is constructed with what amounts to artificial DNA which, although being costly to produce, means a Fabrium is generally just as create (as well as significantly more intelligent) than the average human being. Able to transfer data between each other relatively easily, they can learn at a slightly accelerated pace, too.

Fabrium has joined the NDA recently, and has strong ties to Paixão.

Cape cardinal: A medium sized, pacifistic nation, Cape Cardinal lies well within the nest of Vanhania's geographical sphere of influence. Politically however, it's ties to Fraserland and remarkable neutrality on most affairs place it more closely aligned to nations such as Libertas Liber and Fraserland - of which it is part of a pact with. Cape Cardinal is more openly capitalistic than many nations in the CoG, a trait it shares with Libertas Liber, but differs in one key aspect - it is a constitutional monarchy.

Cape Cardinal's extreme neutrality on most affairs has allowed it keep a military that is, as of yet, unused in modern history. Cape Cardinal has taken a leadership role in ending diplomatic tensions in the recent years, having chaired the Perth Convention, and taken steps to increase friendliness among fellow pacifistic, capitalist nations. It is believed to support other capitalist nations, and is no doubt liked by Libertas Liber for its similar set of values.

Nova glaedirsgrad: The nation of Glaedirsgrad is populated primarily by the Hallis'ra, a humanoid/insectoid species, characterized by large eyes and a chitin exoskeleton-like covering. The nation has recently been reintroduced into Leordan politics after a long hiatus, and has since largely broken its once-close ties with Vanhania, extending olive branches to a variety of other nations. Glaedirsgrad became embroiled in a war against Paixão over territories in the former UIS, eventually winning said war after a protracted war of attrition, and several victories by Glaedirsgrad, forced Paixão to back down.

That said, Glaedirsgrad is yet to become a military powerhouse, and for the time being still has only a relatively small number of armed forces as it increases its power in the Central and Eastern Trispheres. Its allegiance and long term Foreign policy objectives are yet to be seen.

Paixao: While still holding some potential mettle on the political scene, Paixão has gradually fallen out of a prime position of power in foreign politics since the end of the Sojian wars. It currently occupies a position of regional power in the Far East, with strong allies in Khalikhan, Fabrium and the former Iltaakwenusih. It harbors friendships with the Khalite and Kraslavia, and has a tentative friendship with the nation of Locuval. Paixão's foreign policy is best characterized by its subterfuge and often deviant tactics, with its official Ministry For Foreign affairs often saying what it wants people to think, while the much shadier Diplomatic Corps says and does what it actually believes needs doing. In most situations however, Paixão will be friendly and open to nations it has no solid opinion of, but will rapidly become paranoid if a nation's motives come into doubt.

Paixão is perhaps best known for its intentional creation of a pacified, politically unaware 'class' of humans that form roughly 60% of its population. Known as "GenPop" they are isolated from political ideology and most anything that isn't mindless entertainment or narcotics; keeping them in a childish, uneducated stupor for their entire lives - ideally. The remaining 40% of the population is highly educated and will inevitably find jobs in the only two outings available to Paixân citizens; the government or the military.

Militarily Paixão excels in conducting single point strikes at targets and conducting drawn out attrition of enemy forces through asymmetrical warfare. Its reliance on infantry and drones means it is somewhat lacking in armoured vehicles and generally keeps only a small army at hand, relative to many Lerodan nations. Its leadership in the field of Artificial Intelligence gives it somewhat of an advantage in electronic warfare. Recently, an overambitious proxy war against Glaedirsgrad (18E ~262) over the former territories of the UIS has left it weak and war weary, and likely unwilling to take part in further wars for some time.

Valyrian freeholds: An unusual nation populated by a species of tall humanoids distinguished by silver hair, purple eyes and a hatred of the sun. Valyria is lead by Emperor Rhaegar V, and is distinguished in having the presence of a species of dragon native to its territory. The influence of dragson in Valyrian culture and customs is profound, and the creatures appear to have close links with its royal family. Dragon riding is a commonly enjoyed sport. The Valyrian people show a propensity for aloofness to other species, which extends to much of their foreign policy. Having established itself as a vocal and active member of the NDA (The New Dawn Alliance, hoping to unify and cease all wars in North Western Lerodas - Novestur), it has been accused by Vanhania (and others) of rampant expansionism, leading to a deterioration of relations between the two nations.

In other matters, it has participated in the Ondyoh Incident, generally supporting its neighbor Sternreich's right to expand. This, combined with its support of Sternreicher government loyalists during the Sternreich civil war perhaps indicates a desire to more long term ties between the two nations.

Militarily, the Valyrian Freeholds has a relatively small standing army of a half million troops, with a large reserve force. Rumours indicate it hopes to expand its navy in the near future, however, with an ultimate goal of controlling international aquatic trade and travel routes, which may bring it into a conflict of interests with the nation of Aranyus. Valyria harbours an interest in space, with an ambitious 10 000 ship capacity Space Station planned sometime in the future.

Ausruni: The Empire of Ausruni is a moderately large nation in South Western Lerodas. Its citizens are ruled by a largely benevolent royal family with Emperor Leone Voclain at its head. His heir is the first royal family member to be openly homosexual. The citizens of Ausruni and can generally be complimented on their friendliness and hospitality to strangers, and can be remarked for a propensity for high fashion and beauty products; best exemplified by infamous fashion designing company "House of Arltor". It is a relatively egalitarian society that is generally quite devout, adhering to a polytheistic religion with its own pantheon of gods.

When it comes to Foreign Policy, Ausruni appears to be relatively unambitious, a neutral nation in factionalized Lerodas. Having recently won a war against Damanthini, peace talks resulted in a favourable outcome for Ausruni. Ausruni's military at this time is primarily defence orientated, however, and its army and air force are its most powerful assets, meaning its power projection capabilities are likely to be poor. However, when it comes to self-defence, Ausruni benefits from a population of warrior-priests known as 'Guardians', who make use of unique skills and weapons to terrorize enemies through asymmetric warfare, who have been seen to render horrific attrition damage to invading armies.

Xurra: (NPC) A small nation that has acted as "neutral ground" in many Lerodan affairs, it houses the old assembly of the Coalition of Governments (now only an OOC organisation, it used to be an IC one too). It has been used on a semi-regular basis for international discussions between leaders when these need to be conducted in neutral ground.

Today Mad Max was killed by my drones with couple of bystanders.

Which country did he belonged to so that I can return his body remains as I imagine would be preferred by intentional law?

Bystanders all belonged to the country in which they were killed so no need to worry about those as for they families will be provided from Anarchron.

Anarchron is sorry for death of those cough in the blast as for our inability to reeducate Mad Max. Next time we will use gene-seeking viruses to prevent collateral damage.
