It was in the 70's today where I live, which was really nice...

I'll gladly accept a week of heat in exchange for a week of cool weather. Can't rid all of my fall. Now winter on the other hand... :[

Hopefully we actually have winter this year.. It forgot to snow last year..

It was quite enjoyable last year to be completely honest.

It was a good year to start my palm trees.. but they are hopefully hardy enough now.. I'm ready for one of our classic icestorms!

A snowstorm would be better but in the south you take what winter precipitation you get.. at least with an ice storm you have a good shot for a day off work!

Ah, first day of fall, and with it comes the start of the true fire season. Everybody thinks summer is the worst, but noooo, fall is in fact the worst. The season of annoyingly warm temperatures and hot, dry Santa Ana winds sucking the moisture out of everything and leaving the hills tinder-dry!

Also, fuuuuuuck this wind tonight, I can hear it slamming the side of the house even over my headphones!

B-but I want wind! It's so humid over here no matter how much perfume you use you will still smell like a sweaty pig.. At least with wind the air is not stagnant and difficult to breath.. though hot dry and windy conditions also means heavy plant watering is needed daily..

Also I am sleepy! *wiggles into pocket and sleeps for a few days*

There's a difference between mere "wind" and a Santa Ana wind condition. ;) Wind is okay. Santa Anas... let's just say that there are many very good reasons that said condition is also nicknamed things like the "devil wind." :P Depending on the local topography, you can easily get hurricane force conditions with a really bad Santa Ana. (For instance, the last time I had to evacuate due to a brushfire, we had sustained winds between 50-60mph with frequent gusts in excess of 90mph that night!) Coming home tonight I was dodging fallen tree debris and other wind-driven hazards all over the road. x_x

I love the cold and wet, I am currently hiding in fear of the Aussie summer that is coming soon!

Damn.. and I thought Arkansas spring winds on a sunny day where bad reach 50 mph.. only time we see hurricane force winds in during a strong line of thunderstorms..

Maybe I mail you snow if we actual get any this year! Arkansas is weird.. Nice warm day in May.. 82F then a couple inches of snow that night and back to 80's again.. http://imgur.com/a/DQAxK

I'll trade some bipolar weather and tornadoes for some of Reppy's 90 mph Santa Ana winds so long as I get heavy snow with it.. I've only seen one blizzard in my lifetime.. back in 1993!

The last time it snowed here was February 1989! :P

What is this thing called 'snow'?

I think it is like hail but softer?

That was so long ago.. I was really small then!

There is mini hail actually.. we just call it sleet.. it forms differently then hail from thunderstorms..

I get blizzards yearly. :P

Lucky.. I'd like at least one significant snow event a year..

We got some snow last year, but odds are low this year. :( Might go driving in search of it later.

Predicting a warmer than average winter this year.. when will the iceage get here I wonder..

Lot of rain at the moment here in South Australia, a wet spring for us here.

Aynempa wrote:Lot of rain at the moment here in South Australia, a wet spring for us here.

Yea we had that as well.. now it's Autumn and dry.. like the ground is turning to powder.. not as bad as back in 2012 when all the leaves dried up and blew away in the Summer leaving Autumn with no leaves to turn.. I hope I never see that happen again..

Whatever snow Kansas gets this year, we'd be glad to offload it to people.

Dark Kansas and Missouri getting all the snow! the storms seem to jump over us here.. I blame the mountains!

I hope for your sake that the huge hurricane style winds from the end of september and all the flooding that happened didn't get your part of south australia, the photos coming out of how bad that was are scary.

You got a storm too? Everyone on the east coast of the US are worried about that hurricane..
