Yeah, we're not terribly exciting or loud and raucous. Sorry.

Nice fire though.

We're just a band of nomads; we do have a home region, but we're seldom there--it's safe in the hands of our puppets. This is our 3rd trip (or is it the 4th? Skoda, do you remember?) thru NS. We travel in a straight line, alphabetically backwards. Don't ask me why, it's just the way we started and it has become traditional.

This is one of 2 nomadic nations I have had. The first one traveled randomly, and is now resting in peace.

We have had up to 13 member traveling with us in the old days. That's a huge number, since we don't recruit and at that time we didn't even have a home region. This proved to be difficult, because regions became nervous with the sudden influx of so many nations; it looked like a raid. Now we ask permission of the founder to visit; if we are asked to leave by a founder or delegate, we do so immediately.

In the meantime, help yourselves to our food and drink. We are especially interested in your stories about your region and yourselves.

Oh good, a place where I can be more or less alone without having to worry about people trying to get me involved in regional issues or little red numbers on the left of my screen.

Tao the wanderer

Greetings from TAO. On WalkAbout with Geese & friends. Sorry for the late arrival ... I took a RL detour with my son for his birthday and to see my granddaughter.

I sense some hostility here among the natives because we had the audacity to try to engage them. Sorry, TAO, but I'm cutting out.

Hostility? Not my intention.

Psst. You chaps should drop by the Apartment Block again. We miss your cheerful banter.

Sorry Nif, not sure how I suppressed that.

May or may not have temporarily slipped into non-existence. Back now. Perhaps I should move my chair away from the precipice that overlooks the void.

Greetings, all. I am moving this nation here to rest on its journey through life. I know this place isn't big on talking, so I will tell my story in silence, muttering to myself. If any passerby cares to stop and listen, so be it.

Cortexin was founded long ago, in about June of 2013. I stayed in one of the Pacifics--I've long forgotten which one it was--for a while until I received a recruitment letter for a region I'll abbreviate to AE. AE was a fun place--we had an active roleplay, the community was large and friendly. Everything was great... until the day we realized that the RP had ground to a halt. People were disinterested, and everything quickly died on us. A few of us, myself included, tried desperately to save it, but to no avail. I later CTE'd (cease-to-exist'ed), and quietly forgot NationStates. In February 2014, I re-discovered NS, and founded another nation--DH, for short--and went about trying to find a home like that of the AE, but nothing was what I wanted. By chance, I came across my old region, and found it with a new life. I returned to the AE, and life was good for a short while. In May, things began to die again, and what made things worse was raid. The AE was being invaded, and it seemed powerless to stop it. I fled, but my friends held on strongly, and they saved the region. I CTE'd again, because life was busy and I had no time for NS.

Fast-forward to September 2015. I had been thinking about NS for a week, and I felt that it was time to get back into the game. I refounded Cortexin and DH, along with another nation, MB. I kept Cortexin in Osiris, one of the three regions where revived nations come back to life, and in early October moved DH to a place that was just beginning, hoping to help it grow. This nation, TE, barely lasted two weeks before puttering out. It is a dead region now, and DH is one of three nations there. I considered taking Cortexin back to AE, but saw that it was dead and long forgotten. However, I discovered the New AE (NAE), and moved MB there, where I now reside. Cortexin lay in a strange limbo of almost-nonexistence, but then I discovered this place. I plan to stay here until I can find somewhere else to go.

Thank you for having me. I look forward to staring indefinitely into the abyss.

Probably my favorite entrance. Welcome!

Peace to all nations (except the ones who don't like that sort of thing!)

Hey.

(But I liked the "Surreal" tag.)

Far away from the bustling noise
At Cosmos' edge sat a quiet cottage
Where the evenings were lit up with lamps.
Lonely on the precipice it stood, touching the horizon.
When quiet souls inhabited the place
Humor shone brighter than electric lights.
There was abundance of kinship to light up the world;
The cottage was a shrine where puppets resided.
There was less embellishments
But the grandeur of the souls there shone through.
It was a humbling experience for any visitor to see -
Amazed by the rich simplicity
With which it welcomed the weary traveler.

213 nations!?

Not such a quiet cottage anymore.

O. I like that. And I'll tag it again.

*Arrives to new and fascinating region.*

Hello, i'm...............

*Stares at hundreds of people (Nations) just standing around, staring blankly at the floor.*

*Begins to open mouth to say something, then closes it again, with a look of confusion.*

*Turns slowly and begins walking towards a new region.*
