Oh by the way http://ncmares.deviantart.com/art/And-Magic-Is-Heresy-476111340

WHAT IS THIS?

WHAT IS THIS?

WHAT IS MY LIFE?!

I actually did not see this coming at all. I just wanted to see an episode of Sonic Boom without commentary and sure enough, THIS became a thing.

By the way, no, I'm not enjoying Sonic Boom.

I don't see anything wrong with Sonic Boom. I guess the game's not great on its own merits, but after a decade of awful edgy Sonic games about literal demons from hell, guns, swords and brooding, I'm happy that they've decided to try a more cartoonish and lighthearted approach. I might be wrong though.

Wow, there's a new Sonic the hedgehog show! By the looks of it, not bad.

I'm totally against Sonic, cuz it's not my favorite. I prefer Date A Live and the Pokemon series.

I also forgot MLP.

I'm proud to announce you than my beautiful kingdom has passed the point of 1 billion citizens.
*throws confetti*

I think it's just me being older, because the show just seems too nonsensical. Or maybe I just need to see more episodes before deciding whether or not I like it. I don't know. I wasn't actually enjoying that episode I mentioned until later when the that artist decided to give Eggman another chance for the cover of that Evil Lair magazine. I remember bursting in laughter at the same artist's face when he got fired.

Maybe I should watch one more episode when I have the chance.

Hmm...

You don't by chance know who Novaya Equestria is, do you?

Magical equestria

Dead last in Scientific Advancement. :(

We gather this is somehow related to the fact that our leadership is regarded as a cabal of "living deities". I'm not sure how to reconcile that with the fact that one of those "living deities" is Twilight Sparkle.

Science and faith aren't opposites, maybe can you improve your education? It's the beginning of any scientific discoveries.

@Magical equestria: It's because you're running your nation in flagrant defiance of what Equestria is really like on the show.

Arcanium of mars

Huzzah! 754 million mile stone!

Swedesia has a faith called the Imperial Truth, if that helps.

And some of the Greater Good, naturally. Can't be too heretical, now can we?

How so?

Military bases closing down?

BURN THE HERETIC, KILL THE MUTANT, PURGE THE UNCLEAN!

What's a "military"? Is that a kind of plant?

Well, most relevantly to scientific advancement, Magical equestria keeps banning basically every technology whatsoever, including, from what I recall, computers, which is stupid. Those things don't exist in canon Equestria because they haven't been invented yet, not because the government is actively suppressing them. Celestia'd welcome them if they were invented (and given that she's immortal, she'll probably live to see that day).

Magical equestria is also enjoys brutal suppression of dissidents, general corruption (top 5% in the world), and random trolling.

Also there's compulsory nudity (who'd be angrier about that, Rarity or Applejack?), and "The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out." (yeah, because we never see any economic activity on the show...).

Some more on policy decisions:

Magical equestria wrote:What? We're NOT the most Authoritarian nation in the region??? This is an outrage!

[makes plans to start oppressing the peasants further.]

Magical equestria wrote:Our little ponies are uncultured boors. I guess that's what happens when you try to keep the peasants ignorant.

Magical equestria wrote:And with us, Eadesiopia. But then, we're TRYING to oppress the peasantry, so it's not so bad.

Magical equestria wrote:Apparently Princess Celestia is overseeing the second most corrupt government in the Pony Lands. Fortunately, we just got the "Government Saturated in Corruption?" issue, so next time around maybe we'll be #1. :D

Magical equestria wrote:"All citizens are solely referenced by their allocated identity number,"

Magical equestria wrote:the government has the power to seize property at will, and politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads

Magical equestria wrote:it is firmly believed that cameras steal souls

Magical equestria wrote:toddlers are wielding machine guns in the name of national defense

Magical equestria wrote:This is why humans are forbidden to enter Equestria except at tourists and under strict guard. My little ponies are skittish enough as it is without two-legged monsters running loose among them.

Magical equestria wrote:I thought I was supposed to be the power-mad narcissist here?

Magical equestria wrote:Not because our government is corrupt (granted, it is),

Also, parenting licenses?

I could buy the Equestrian government being corrupt. After all Celestia and Luna apparently run relatively little themselves. There is a lot of stuck-up nobles around. I could totally see the likes of Blueblood being corrupt and nepotistic. Ditto with ponies being afraid of humans...have you seen Twilight's initial reaction to the human body? Now imagine if humans could theoretically freely visit Equestria.

Technology issues are understandable as Magical Equestria was created long before the episodes that show that ponies have modern technology.

I totally hate Celestia is a tyrant who oppresses the peasants may may though, you're right there.

I'm back.

"Is terrorism such a terrible thing? Really?" asks Don de Castro, avant garde journalist, discreetly sliding a pipe bomb under your desk. "These people are simply expressing their political opinion the best way they know how. I think we should legalise terrorism as a legitimate form of political commentary. It'll certainly get people interested, don't you think?"

I'll choose this one! ^_^

It just seems silly for ponies to be afraid of humans when there's already dozens of intelligent species there, including relatively humanoid ones like minotaurs. Spike is bipedal and has opposable thumbs.

I should have expected as much of Discord worshippers...

N
Don't!

Heretics... We'll zero in more doomsday weapons on them...

But humans are different in that they don't have fur. To a pony, a human would look about as attractive as a naked mole-rat.

The academics want term limits, the town hall is insured to three times its real value, and the munitions industry has its eyes on the consumer market.

It's a win-win.
