Oh. I didn't mean to make a pun, but hey, that works, lol.

The most boring news I've ever heard of.

Well, police shootings in the US are being frighteningly more common place.

I find it funny this region ranks rather high for most avoided. You know, 'cause most people avoid bronies.

4016/19209 is about 21%, not that high.

Regional ranks are almost meaningless, given how they average out wildly disparate nations, and single-nation regions tend to dominate. Our region doesn't force any particular politics on its members, so you'll find just about everything here.

I'm in the 0.4% least avoided nations in the world, so whatever the rest of y'all are up to is not my fault.

Of course people want to visit us. We're ponies. We're adorable.

My Nation is ranked Top Five Percent for Most Influential, Most Compassionate, Nicest Citizens, Safest, Most Advanced Law Enforcement.

Top ten percent for most cheerful, most beautiful environment, Most Eco-Friendly, and Smartest!

Don't see why our nation would be avoided. :P

Oh, why that sounds lovely! I'm in the top 10 percent for religiousness, authoritarianism, and primitiveness, with income equality, corruption, and ignorance making the top 20. So book your trip to New Equestria today! :D

Don't know if the map is still used or updated, but in the Pony Lands Map Discussion thread I placed a request.

Polska-hungary

10th for most primitive.

It's not really being used. The RP organisation that it was primarily used for died some time ago, and the original mapmakers have gone to another region.

Ah. Righty then. Thanks for that.

So apparently, My Little Pony got cited in a real-life US political debate. Turns out, they can't even do that right.

It's an extreme fluke that I happened to stumble across this story, and I know we prefer to avoid real-life politics in this RMB, but if you're interested:

Melania Trump, wife of 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump, recently gave a speech in which parts had a suspicious similarity to an earlier speech given by Michelle Obama, wife of 2008-2016 president Barack Obama. Naturally, Democrats are accusing her of plagiarism, while Republicans are claiming it's a coincidence.

The speeches in question (source: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1607/19/cnnt.01.html ):
Michelle Obama (2008): "Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values like, you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond, that you do what you say you're going to do."
Melania Trump (2016): "My parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise."
Michelle Obama (2008): "That you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them and even if you don't agree with them."
Melania Trump (2016): "That you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily life. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow."
Michelle Obama (2008): "And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values and to pass them on to the next generation because we want our children and all children in this nation to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and you willingness to work hard for them."
Melania Trump (2016): "Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them."

Sean Spicer, Communications Director of the Republican National Convention, had this to say (source: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1607/19/wolf.01.html , boring stuff about actual politics cut):
Sean Spicer: "Melania Trump said, 'The strength of your dreams and willingness to work for them.' Twilight Sparkle from 'My Little Pony' said, 'This is your dream. Anything you can do in your dreams, you can do now.'"
Sean Spicer: "But you just heard -- I mean, look, I just quoted Twilight Sparkle from 'My Little Pony'. She said something similar too. So did Mrs. Obama plagiarize her? I would never say that. But these are common phrases that were used over and over again."

Sadly, I rather suspect that he hasn't actually seen My Little Pony, since he appears oblivious to the context: Twilight said that when she was actually inside a dream courtesy of Princess Luna (source: http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Transcripts/Do_Princesses_Dream_of_Magic_Sheep%3F ), and was describing how the magical dream world works, which is very different from Michelle and Melania's encouragement to make your dreams happen in real life. The only real similarity is that both use the word "dream", whereas it's hard to deny that Michelle and Melania's speeches have much more in common in both wording and intended message, spanning over multiple sentences. If Sean had found a similarity in, say, Twilight Sparkle's speech at her coronation (I just checked, I can't find any), that may have been more convincing of an argument.

Regardless of which candidate you think is the lesser evil in this year's race, ponies shan't be inspiration for national policy. Unfortunately.

"This raises an interesting issue," says Joseph Sparkle, your brother. "And that is: why do we need elections, anyway? Seems to me it would be much simpler if you just decided what was right, and did it. Wouldn't that save everyone a lot of time?"

Actually went with #2, but this bit was just too interesting to ignore. It is not part of my leaders name, my capital city, or my motto.

It's one of the standard random names in the game. Has been for a long time.

I remember being disturbed by the implications of a nonrandom name in one issue...

Does anyone happen to know what the largest raider region is currently?

Why do you want to know?

There was an extended period during which I was on hiatus from the game, and now many of the regions and groups seem completely dissimilar to how I remember them.

I'm not plotting an incursion of Pony Lands, lol. But then again, I can't make any promises...

Two things: First, even if I knew what the largest group of raiders was, I would not tell you, and Second, I feel like I may have to banject you if your serious about this. Luckily you don't appear to have any history of raiding...

Burn him at the stake!!!

Also, just got in the top 10% for income equality. :D Granted it's pretty low for both the rich and the poor... But hush! That's not the point!
