Lub protection!

Now only all your money!

Hmm, according to my latest option against Brazilistan, I can either starve their people with tariffs and embargoes, have the navy invade, or have political and military leaders assassinated. Some people will sadly have to die for this.

It's either Option 1 or 3. I won't bother with 2 as I'm not liking the paths it will result in.

I still didn't get the damn "Diamonds are an expats best friend" issue...
Whine,whine.

I go for or 3.

I took the diplomatic approach. I'll send in the armies when they surrender for food. I'll have these people literally eating out of the palms of our... hooves? When we are done, we will annex their lands and declare those civilians as our new citizens.

Sure, there will be people starving, but who is really to blame here? After all, we're giving their politicians a chance to survive here. If people die, those leaders will be to blame for not surrendering sooner, or at least sharing their own food for once.

Disgraceful aristocrats...

Twilightlicious

For anyone interested, the story related to this nation is now on Fimfiction.

My country's future is now in the hands of anyone who reads it. :)

Do you have a link to it in your factbook?

Let's see...

Twilightlicious wrote:"Wow, really?" Twilight let out a giggle of her own. "That's, uh, really nice of... wait, did you say 'people?'"
"I did." Luna grinned. "The entire country is populated by humans."

Grr. Ponies are "people" too.

Though this is a nice way of avoiding the issue of translating NationStates's human-centric writing into analogous issues for magical ponies. Then again, reducing the need for creativity may not necessarily be a good thing. (Looking at the next chapter of your first issue, I think you're copying a bit too much text from the game verbatim, rather than writing your own spin on what a union strike would look like.)

Twilightlicious wrote:"The People's Republic of Twilightlicious is a tiny, safe nation, renowned for its irreverence towards religion," he said. "Our hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of seven million are well known throughout the region for their efficiency and work ethic, as well as their general suspicion of leisure."

Heh, you copied that directly from the NationStates description :)

Pro-tip: your population size is not actually going to grow storywise at the same rate it does in NS stats.

Also, shouldn't you be doing something about that "democratic"? I was expecting you to do issue #000 first, since it's the first every nation gets - either that or resolve it on your own in the prologue, since they are being led by a Princess and all.

Twilightlicious wrote:We also changed [...] our demonym to 'Equestrians.'

Yeah, this just doesn't make sense when they're explicitly not Equestria (as the next sentence mentions).

I'm having trouble getting the poll site to work on my computer.

I'd appreciate criticism like this being sent to me via either a Fimfiction PM or a telegram. That way, I can keep a record of it. :)

Yeah, but problem is, then I'll end up keeping a record of it too :) There's no way to delete telegrams from your sent folder, for some reason. Conversely, there's limited space in the inbox folder without continuously deleting stuff, so I don't want to get too many responses there.

12 hours ago: Economic Invincibility was ranked #1 in the region for Most Avoided.
Making a splash, I see.

I'm surprised you didn't choose the option to blow the comet up.

"No Child Left Behind Enemy Lines"

2-"We really need that child labor to keep the military running smoothly," concludes auditor Lars Singh after reviewing the budget for the thousandth time, "but they don't necessarily need to be frontline infantry. In order to console parents, we could restrict children under the age of majority to non-combat roles such as maintenance and cooking. That sounds like a fair compromise to me."

3-"It's not our vertically-challenged recruits that are the problem; it's the guns!" bellows Quartermaster Sergeant Britney Barnes. "They're too big for our pint-sized patriots. What we need are appropriately-sized weapons to outfit the army. It might not protect the grunts in combat, but at least they'll take a few more Bigtopians with them when they go. Shoot, we could even export the miniature weapons - turn ourselves a profit while we're at it!"
