Arise: Lazarus Liberated by Former Chairman Kazmr

Following liberation of Lazarus, the restored native government is working to secure the region and moving forward with reforms.

By Cormac Skollvaldr

LIBERATED LAZARUS - NationStates was stunned at this morning's major update when a decision by the New Lazarene Order to slingshot Kazmr, former Chairman of the People's Republic of Lazarus, into the Delegacy resulted in the liberation of Lazarus and the restoration of native self-government. The former Chairman, thought to be supporting the NLO regime, immediately set to work establishing a new World Factbook Entry -- which features new endorsees Funkadelia, Courlany, and Harmoneia -- and restoring order to Lazarene in-game embassies. The native government is now working to gather enough endorsements to sustain the liberation before this afternoon's minor update, so that the native Delegate will retain the Delegacy and efforts to secure the region can continue.

The new WFE of Lazarus also features the promise of "a democratic future for Lazarus," a sentiment Kazmr echoed when he spoke to The Miniluv Messenger about the liberation. "Well, I will say that it has been a trying week and a half. Knowing that I would have to backstab one of my oldest friends in NationStates made it very hard, but I stayed strong for the good of the region I helped build. Really want to thank Eluvatar, Funkadelia, and Asta especially, among many others, for keeping me focused on the goal and doing most of the legwork," the former Chairman said. "To me, the PRL was never about an NPO master plan. I wanted to build something, and with the help of many others I did. I know that the PRL itself cannot return, but I see a bright, democratic era in Lazarus' future."

Funkadelia, the current Chairman of the People's Republic following recent election, also sounded upbeat. "I am elated to have the region back. Many of us have spent near sleepless nights trying to get it back, and to have it in our hands again feels special," he said. "Of course, we still have a fight to win, and it has just become extremely easier." On the native government's off-site forum, Chairman Funkadelia has urged the community to move forward with a constitutional draft that would bring sweeping liberal and democratic reforms to Lazarene government. The unprecedented reform package would bring Lazarus much closer in governing philosophy and structure to the liberal democratic regions that helped work toward its liberation, particularly most of its fellow Feeder and Sinker regions.

As the Chairman noted, the region is not yet fully secured. At the time of this writing, native Delegate Kazmr has just closed the endorsement gap with former rogue Delegate Stujenske, tying his endorsement count of 185. With the potential for withdrawal of NLO endorsements from Kazmr and the possibility of a minor update operation to restore the former rogue Delegate, the Lazarene native government has been soliciting the help of its friends and allies to ensure that the native Delegate remains firmly in the region's Delegate seat. Nonetheless, it appears to many Lazarenes and foreign observers that the conflict has ended, with ousted NLO Senator Milograd, also known as Yao, conceding likely defeat and announcing his probable retirement from NationStates via the Gameplay forum.

The Miniluv Messenger will bring you more on the liberation of Lazarus and the progress of liberal democratic reforms as the story continues to unfold.

As NON-WA DELEGATE of Osiris, I suggest that all WA nations not already following Trick Shot's advice do so. And any Non-WA nations capable of adding a shiny WA badge to their nation should ... and then join Sekhmet Legion.

Free Rum cookies for every who joins between now and Sunday.

Alternatively, I like endorsements. If you want to endorse my nation, that'd be good.

Ahem...My Pharaoh.
You have to learn that you never steal anything, you liberate them. ;)

Diamete, good to see you! :)

Alas, it is Comrade TAO and to show respect I must sneak cookies from the cookie jar. He is after all our non-WA Delegate.

Unless we replace them with RUBBER DUPLICATES.

Rubber duplicates is in bold and capitalized. I feel like I'm missing a joke here.

Nah, I just (wrongly) thought that it would be funny. I have obviously failed: again.

No wait! I get it. Haha ;)

While your pity is appreciated, it's already to late.

Congratulations to Tim on 100 days as WA Delegate!

Yikes, I didn't even notice. Thanks! I'm getting acclimated to Delegacy, it's scary.

Only the ones placed in YOUR box, my friend. The last time you ate RUM cookies, you paraded around the region nude and made strange honking sounds between snippets of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack quotes. Tim has the video.
