I never said you had animosity. I'm simply saying they deserve a chance to make things right if it is their wish.
Question: Do we hold elections here? If not, how can we claim others to be tyrants? And in the regional factbook (aka, the big blurb at the top) it does state: "...Against the tyrant Princess Celestia." Where is this tyrant? Better yet, how are we opposing her?
We do hold elections, once every Nightmare Night (Halloween).
Celestia's forces were driven to the fringes of NS reality a long time ago. Any opposition we now have is towards rogue regions like the Derpy Dominion and the rump states of the former Solar Empire.
This one. I'm honestly not so sure on how the work. But I'm told it gives aid to both groups. So unless I have the wrong understanding, then I'm glad to have a embassy of the NLR ^3^
I would like to point out, that I claim to be legal successor to the old Solar Empire and that I most certainly wasn't driven to the edge of the NS Reality a long time ago. Then again, I am not opposing the NLR...
Our canon ( as far as I am aware, if anyone here would like to correct me) is that we sort of Cold War'd the Solar Empire out like America did the Soviets. Perhaps "driven to the edge of reality" was a bit of an understatement.
I don't really believe, that the old SE was "out-Cold-War'd" but simply ceased to exist due to the lack of activity, but it boils down to the same, at least OOC-wise.
I remember, though, that I made the offer to work out a common RPing canon for our two regions a while back, but of course, we could also simply stick to the good old multiversial theory. I kind of like that one, I have to admit.
For the sake of comparison (including the multiversial theory):
My current IC-canon says, that there was a military conflict between the old Solar Empire and the Lunar Republic, which was more or less lost by both sides, bringing them back to square 1 and to a mutual honourable armistice and peace treaty. However, there are reasons, why my fleet's flagship has a superweapon on board, which can destroy planets, and why there is a New Canterlot as my capitol and why there are regiments with the designation 'Loyal' instead of 'Royal'.
While the Solar Empire was disbanded and replaced by the Reign, the New Lunar Republic was founded akin to Star Wars' New Republic, to reform the 'old' Lunar Republic. Diplomatic relations are present, but they could be stronger.
Alright, so you may have noticed that I accepted an embassy request from the Derpy Dominion, despite long-standing rivalry. The more astute will be wondering why. And I have an explanation.
Derpy has contacted me recently, as well as the Solar Reign, with desires for more communication and interaction between the regions. Derpy herself has been very genial, polite, and understanding, and openly admits that she was hot-headed and brash earlier. I wanted the embassy so that she could come here and explain herself to you guys, and I'll get rid of it if anything happens. Basically, she wants a chance, and from what I've seen, she deserves it. If it turns out that she hasn't changed, the dirt is on me.
Which brings us into ou next topic of discussion- a planned meeting. The Solar Reign and Derpy have requested a formalization of the canon between our regions- a sort of Cold-War style uneasy peace. We were planning on hosting a little roleplay on the forums in which the leaders of our factions came together to discuss things (somewhat to see how Derpy's rp skills have progressed, she says she has been working on them) and also to try to figure out what the bloody hell is going on. They both insist on interacting the Princesses, so I was hoping that you all would be ok with me roleplaying as Princess Luna just to sort things out. If not, I understand, and I'll work something out.

I want to let you know that I have changed and wish for cooperation between our regions (unofficially and not cannon wise.) and I hope that you will give me this chance so that I can prove to you that I am serious about all of this. Better it be dead than alive, that would be most unusual indeed. There's still lots of discussion to be had as to how the interaction between the regions is to work, and it may be some time before things really get worked out. It would seem that the three of us (Derpy, The Solar Reign, and myself) invented a somewhat Herculean task for ourselves.
