NationStates Endorsement Policy and Limits
Greetings, Sovereign Nations of the NationStates Region

Please take a moment to inform yourself of the Endorsement policy of our great region. Endorsement caps are common in regions across NationStates, and are even more important for the security of Founderless Regions. Our security precautions ensure our stability and the protection of our community from those that would selfishly seek to replace our community with their ego.

All players are encouraged to join The World Assembly and endorse the Delegate.Our Delegate is the in-game Administrator of the NationStates Region. Your endorsements empower our region in World Affairs as well as increase our Influence to ensure our region's security. (Just remember NationStates Rules allow only one World Assembly member nation per player).

Please take note that while each nation has the right to choose whether or not to endorse any given World Assembly nation, failure to endorse the Delegate places a drain upon the Delegate's Influence. A World Assembly member nation only needs two endorsements in order to fully participate in all World Assembly game features, so this lower cap will not affect your ability to fully participate in the game.The endorsement cap levels and policies are subject to change as the effects of this implementation become more clear, and as in-region/in-game circumstances may change (such as significant changes in population).

What happens when a nation exceeds the cap ?

- In the event that a nation has not endorsed the Delegate, and exceeds the cap, that nation will be contacted and given the opportunity to endorse the Delegate or take action to reduce its endorsements into compliance. Failure to take either of these actions will result in removal from the region.

- In the event that a nation has endorsed the Delegate and exceeds the cap, that nation will be contacted and given the opportunity to take action to reduce its endorsements. Failure to take such action will result in removal from the region.

- In the event that a nation is clearly 'endotarting' to quickly gain endorsements to threaten or test the security of the region, or to make a 'run' at the Delegacy, that nation will be contacted and expected to take immediate action to reduce its endorsements within One Update (12 hours). An immediate eject and ban will result for failure to respond or cooperate. Banjection will come more quickly if said nation engages in poor telegram etiquette.

I've exceeded the cap, what should I do?

- The quickest method available is to resign from the World Assembly. You will lose all your endorsements, and you can then reapply and rejoin.

- Don't want to bother with resigning and rejoining the World Assembly ? Instead you can move your nation out of the region for one update (updates occur twice daily). Your endorsements will be removed by spending one update out of the region. You can then return to the region with a clean slate, and seek endorsements up to the cap once again

- You can also attempt to telegram nations that are endorsing you, to ask them to remove their endorsements. This method is fine when you have only slightly exceeded the cap, but may take time. You must be proactive when using this option, as failure to take action in a timely manner will result in the Delegate removing you from the region.

Elections occur twice a day. They are called updates.

I wouldn't exactly call nationstates update times elections when you have endorsement caps in place.

I don't understand why people continue to be ignorant of how delegate leadership works.

Mike was voted the NationStates delegate. He retains this position because he continues to hold the support of the majority of the region. He created endorsement caps to protect the region from invasion. If the majority of residents want a new delegate, then they would just have to withdraw their support for him, and the second-most popular nation would become delegate.

The minority unhappy with his leadership have three options:
1. Convince enough nations to become the majority, then elect a new leader.
2. Just live here anyway.
3. Move somewhere else.

The Tao is the center of the universe,
the good man's treasure,
the bad man's refuge.

Honors can be bought with fine words,
respect can be won with good deeds;
but the Tao is beyond all value,
and no one can achieve it.

Thus, when a new leader is chosen,
don't offer to help him
with your wealth or your expertise.
Offer instead
to teach him about the Tao.

Why did the ancient Masters esteem the Tao?
Because, being one with the Tao,
when you seek, you find;
and when you make a mistake, you are forgiven.
That is why everybody loves it.

"(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden"

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime
When you take you gotta give so live and let live and let go oh oh oh oh
I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

I could promise you things like big diamond rings
But you don't find roses growin' on stalks of clover
So you better think it over
Well, if sweet talking you could make it come true
I would give you the world right now on a silver platter
But what would it matter
So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime
I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

I could sing you a tune and promise you the moon
But if that's what it takes to hold you I'd just as soon let you go
But there's one thing I want you to know
You'd better look before you leap still waters run deep
And there won't always be someone there to pull you out
And you know what I'm talking about
So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime.....

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

Act without doing;
work without effort.
Think of the small as large
and the few as many.
Confront the difficult
while it is still easy;
accomplish the great task
by a series of small acts.

The Master never reaches for the great;
thus she achieves greatness.
When she runs into a difficulty,
she stops and gives herself to it.
She doesn't cling to her own comfort;
thus problems are no problem for her.

I am always amused by both sides of this argument: 1) if there is no God and thus no eternal life after death why do the Atheists care that the "God Believers" are misguided when in the end it doesn't matter; 2) and if God does exist and is all loving then He even has the Atheists covered despite their non-belief so why are the believers playing God by trying to sway them; 2a) and if God is a vengeful hateful God who will damn the poor sinful man to eternal hell anyway, it doesn't matter if I believe or not because I'm screwed unless I pretend to act like a righteous prick to the rest of humanity.

So Cecil the Lion gets killed and reports hit the waves stating his brother Jericho has been killed
And my friend says "Tell me it's not true"

1) It is not true
2) We allow our police to kill black people every week; what can we expect from our dentists
3) Approximately 12 trophy animals are killed every hour in Africa by "hunters"
4) We ignore the plights of hundreds of thousands of humans fleeing persecution every day by calling them illegal aliens; what can we expect from our Christian neighbor

Why is it that everybody is comparing hunting/poaching with police brutality and the treatment of refugees and immigrants? While I agree with you that the latter two are the more important issues, that doesn't mean that the first one shouldn't be addressed.

What you're doing is like complaining about people that are pointing out the atrocities of Mussolini, and calling them idiots for not focusing on Hitler. I think that it would be more productive instead if you simply promoted positive change for all of the issues.

Orzodox pastafarianism

A very good question. Maybe I can give some insight to this issue.

1. While the point may be moot in regard to the afterlife, it still effects this life. People tend to act in accordance to their beliefs. Thus, I think that people who hold false beliefs are more likely to make bad decisions (based on those beliefs) than someone who doesn't hold those beliefs.

2. As far as I know, only Liberal Christians/Muslims and Deists believe that going to Heaven is solely based off of good works. Conservative Christians/Muslims believe that you have to be part of their religion to go to Heaven. Thus, when Conservative Christians/Muslims are trying to convert people, I think that they usually are genuinely concerned for people's souls.

2a. I truly don't know how Christians/Muslims wrap their head around the evil commandments God gives in the Bible/Quran, as well as his restrictive Heaven policies. As soon as I learned that my family members believed that 5/7 of the current human population was Hell-bound, I immediately became a Deist.

Your syllogism is false but it could be that you have allowed you emotions to cloud your logic. Additionally, you may not be very appreciative of sarcasm which is understandable given that it is an art. Two of my four points directly refer to the Zimbabwe story while the remaining two refer to the absurdity that is daily played out in America where Christian beliefs are widely rhetorical but seldom consistent in action.

Nevertheless, it is my perspective which I am entitled to profess regardless of your opinion or prejudice.

I didn't make a syllogism of any kind, as I have no premises or conclusion. I was just stating my opinion of your opinion, which we are both entitled to have. I agree with your sentiments, but I think that the way you present your argument is needlessly divisive between environmental issues and human rights issues. People shouldn't fight over which one is more important, instead they should take the necessary steps to correct both.

Orthodox Conservative Christians do not believe that you have to be part of their religion to go to Heaven. They believe one must have a relationship with the Creator God in the person of Christ Jesus. In fact, they refrain from pressing "religion" and advocate for a correct relationship. Muslims believe accepting the religion is mandatory for one to get to heaven/paradise.

Of course, in my experience there are two kinds of groups describing themselves as "Christian". There are the "Born Again" who use the Bible to present a reason to desire relationship with Christ and the "Born Against" who use the Bible to exclude others from Christ who do not accept their twisted form of religion. But the America media will focus on the extremists found in the "Born Against" camp to discredit all Christians. As evidence for this, I submit the excessive media coverage of groups like the Westboro Baptist Church as representing Conservative and/or Orthodox Christians.

In the NT of the Christian Bible, God, in the Person of Christ Jesus, gives only two commands to His followers: (paraphrased) [1] Love God first and foremost with all that you are and [2] Love everyone else like you love yourself.

I post this not to start an argument neither do I do it to push a form of religion; I say this only to demonstrate that it is never good to assume everyone under a label is homogenous in ideology within that label.

Orzodox pastafarianism

I would like to clarify that when I said that most Conservative Christians believe that you have to be a part of their religion to go to Heaven, I meant only Christianity, not their specific denomination. Therefore, Orthodox Christians would still fall under this category, as anyone who believes that they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is a Christian, whether they accept the label or not.

When I referred to the commandments given in the Bible, I was using the Jewish count of 613 commandments that God gives in the OT. While Jesus only makes two statements in NT that are definitely commandments, there are many other teachings attributed to him and his disciples that I believe are immoral.

Please note that if I generalize a certain group of people as believing something, I am doing it only out of necessity, and try my best to base it off of official churches' doctrine, as well as the beliefs of the average church-goers that I know in each of them.
