But now that you endorsed me, you have my endorsement again. Its just one of the things I do to promote accountability.

So I've returned from grocery shopping, and I met the Goddess again.

I first encountered her back in January, when I was trudging down to the harbor with a bicycle child trailer full of provisions in hand. The town is fairly deserted in the winter, so I was awestruck when she crossed my path, riding a horse right down the middle of the road. I must admit I probably looked dumbstruck, because I was, and she rode on both serenely and haughtily leaving me standing in the intersection.

This time around, I had safely stowed the Yamaha Jog and that very trailer aboard the boat, and put the groceries away in the galley. Cat was seated on the chart table at port in the pilothouse, and so I joined her, putting some Fatboy Slim on the sound system. So there I was, dancing to entertain the Cat, when who should come walking down the dock but the Goddess bedecked in a smart sailing bolero.

Not wanting her to think I was a dancing fool, I grabbed the clicker and a bag of cat treats. Alunya is clicker trained, and one of the tricks in her repetoire is to give a salute, which has found great favor throughout the New World. So I smartly draw myself to attention, and, cueing her, I salute the Cat.

And the Cat just sits there and stares at me expressionlessly, as cats are wont to do.

So again I draw myself up in a smart salute.

And again, Alunya sits there dumbfounded, as if she's never seen me do this before in her life.

In the meantime, out of the corner of my eye, I can see that the Goddess is bemused. She shakes her head and walks on towards town.

So I'm fuming because I think the Cat just made me look stupid. And I know that Cat knows better -- her Monkey is stoopid.
