Also, why no Wizards? Some might argue that sorceror is the same, but not according to later versions of D&D. And I can see their point: sorceror = innate natural ability; while wizard = years of study and hard work.

That would generally be Rogue, although Rangers can use bows.
No love for Fighter or Barbarian.
The problem with playing a tank is that you basically have to have support; without a healer (my preference, if I only have one backup), you'll reach a point where you can't kill the mobs fast enough because your DPS sucks.
TBH anyone who didn't pick a class with some kind of supernatural powers is a total square anyway. I usually go Rogue or Knight in DND games but for the purposes of this pole screw that. I wanna do magic.
