As some of you know, the election for councilors (Regional Officers) in LCRUA has finished, we are currently setting up
our goals to improve LCRUA as a whole, for now, here are the nations that were elected and their positions.

Linnuis. Position: Defense: Handles the military, defense of LCRUA/allies of LCRUA, and has the ability to ban nations.

Condealism. Position: Legislation: Handles laws and proposals.

Yymea. Position: Culture: To spread Lcruanian culture throughout Nation States.

I have a place I can get clear criticism and opinions on the current Issue and the stuff discused in the articals

Hello comrades, I have been elected again as your councilor of Information, and my goal this term is to improve
the state of the newspaper, after all, all you deserve a quality newspaper, here are the ways im going to improve the paper:

-Improve the Regional Community News by

1. They shall be on Wednesdays, I have the most free time on that day, meaning I can make them faster.

2. Push the recruitment for the newspaper even more, hire artists to draw polandballs, and/or ask people on the polandball subreddit if I can use them in our newspaper (Due to the recent lack of comics on the comic side of the newspaper), and I will make a forum for each issue for people to comment on there thoughts on the current paper, criticism is need to improve someones work.

3. (Due to the recent fiasco of issue 10) I will always make sure to not make an article like that without consulting our Diplomat, Frangleterre.

4. I shall make a RCN puppet and share the paper around Regions we have yet to embassy/ally with.

Lazarus stands vulnerable. I say this because of the practice we refer to as "raiding." We've seen that raiders can come into homes and destroy them quite effectively - but I don't say that we are in danger because of the threat of raiding, so much as the threat of the unknown.

Lazarus is a fairly large region, and therefor we are capable of defending ourselves passively, simply through the number of endorsements our delegate has. Many, or most of you, know this already. However, if you ask yourself right now if we are capable of being attacked, would you have an answer?

Lazarus suffers from a lack of Intel, one that could be devastating to us. I propose that we elect someone to the job of espionage: to set up embassies, shadow regimes, and even WA nations that can gather Intel and keep an eye on anyone who may be a threat. Not only will we then be able to know our enemy, but we could help others. An early warning system could come in handy for any friendly nation, as they could call for aid in strengthening their delegate before an attack, instead of trying to pick up the pieces after. Perhaps, with an early warning system in place, Lazarus could even from its own relief force to help other regions we are peaceful with, without the fear of having our delegate swept out from under us while our forces are away.

I propose that this 'spy master' or 'intelligence manager' or what have you be me. Given the green light I could have a network in place in days. I have an abundance of free time, and could easily attain even mid level positions in enemy regions.

After the rebel group The People's Republic of Republica Democratica Hispana (The people's republic of the republic of Democratic Hispanic) tried to either Independence or convert Segundo Imperio Hispano (Second Hispanic Empire) to communism; España y Portugal immediately declared war on the rebel group. The rebel group because of the declaration of war started doing terrorist attacks in España and Portugal (Spain and Portugal) since it doesn't have the military capacity to start offensives. In response to it España and Portugal sent drones and assassins to kill the rebel group's high command. It also requested Segundo Imperio Hispano for it's troops to go to it's territory to kill the rebels. Segundo Imperio Hispano accepted with the condition that there couldn't be more than 50.000 men. Now 50,000 troops are coming from Spanish and Portuguese Australia to China (rebel zone). The international community is tense since communism and authoritarianism have never fought each other before.

Raiders took over one of our first embassies The Reckoning, luckily Eyak and the defender region Eyote liberated
the region with his puppet Cabratierra under control of the region, and is now setting up the region as a part of history and as a puppet storage region.

On the sixth and thirteenth of december, the regional elections have been organized in France. The thirteen regions of the hexagone and four oversea territories had to choose who will govern them for the next two years. During those elections, a phenomenon nicknamed the "brown wave" was expected. The Front National (originally, the National Front for French Unity), a far-right party, considered by some as a fascist or even a neo-nazi party was expected to make a historic breakthrough. It is because of the party itself bragging the merits of a navy blue wave (navy blue being the official colour of the party, and Marine, the french word for navy the name of the party's leader) that the name "brown wave" was found by opponents to the party as a comparision between the FN's ideology and excrements.
The rise of the FN along with the rise of far-right in Europe in general has several causes. If the surveys tend to indicate that the majority of the population that vote FN consider their vote as economically motivated, those surveys also show that most of them don't really know anything of the economic program of the party. The economic crisis, the migrant crisis, the rise of the IS and ascociated organizations along with a loose of trust of the traditional parties and a public denounciation of the corruption that resulted from the two-parties system have to be added to the tragic events that occured in Paris at the begining and the end of this year as causes of the rise of far-right in France. With no other serious anti-system choice than the FN, large amounts of the french population (sometimes even traditionally leftist or far-leftist!) choosed to support the National Front.

The first round of the elections was frightening as the brown wave seamed to cover France almost entirely. During the week that separed the first round from the second, politicians from every party decided to take mesures against the FN, the two main parties, The Republicans (right) and the PS (center-left), in particular. The PS decided to retire its candidates in the regions where they were only third in the first round, while The Republicans, lead by the former president Nicolas Sarkozy choosed a strategy called the "ni-ni" in french, meaning that they will proceed to no retirement, neither any merge with another list, claiming that they were the only possible wall between the FN and the power.

Nicolas Sarkozy, whidely impopular along both the left and the right, will eventually be personally the great ideological looser of this election and far from learning from his errors, he will decide of a great reform of the entire party, starting by firing the party's number two Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, who had strongly opposed to the "ni-ni" strategy from its very begining. Leaving the party and renouncing to her candidature for the presidency of the Greater Paris metropolis, she will declare that for her "there was an opponent, the PS, and an enemy, the FN, and the ni-ni strategy was an error by putting them on the same level of consideration."
The final results of the second round had seen a victorious defeat for the FN, that will win zero region but which realize a historic breakthrough and became the main opposition party in regions such as the NPDC and PACA. The Republicans are the ones that have won the most regions (7) but they benefited from the leftists that voted to prevent the FN from passing, they only obtained 1 oversea territory and the party is more weakened than ever as some of their traditional supporters join the far-right and some other, more moderate, drift to parties such as the UDI (center-right) mainly because of the terrible managing of Nicolas Sarkozy and some sentences he pronounced that left the impression he was somtimes agreeing with the far-right. The PS had no-so-bad results considering that the public opinion was angry against the current president François Hollande winning 5 regions and 3 oversea territories but the ideological possitions of the party, considered as a way too rightist for a party that claimed itself socialist keep making it loose more leftist voters.

Every party that had opposed the FN declared after the results that things were going to change once and for all and that the political climate that had permited the rise of the FN had to end, a lot of politicians claiming that they will change their way to do politics. But only a few days later, all those words prooved themselves to be lies when the Prime Minister Manuel Valls asked for a change in the name of the PS, stating that "socialism was a dead ideology that belonged to the XXth century" and when, in Corsica, the only region that had been won, nor by the left, neither by the right, and not even by the far-right, but by the regional nationalists, the independentist Mr. Talamoni made his discourse entirely in corsican after being elected at the top of the island's legislative branch, the Prime Minister, quickly followed by others, declared that speaking corsican in the corsican assembly wasn't tolerable which, whatever was everyone's opinion on the topic, reawakened old tension between the island and the mainland, with a rise of anti-corsican racism on the mainland (and most of the medias) and anti-french racism on the culturally italic island. On social networks, sentences such as "Corsicans are terrorists just as IS." from french people and as "Catalonia is showing us the way to follow." from corsican people made their apearance.

With The Republicans that are weackened and lead by a very impopular former president, the PS, disorganized and following an unelected Prime Minister in a rightist direction, and the far-left and ecologists that are divided and weak as never before, the FN's president, Marine Le Pen is considered as having her chances in the 2017's presidential elections, helped by the growing amount of french people who have lost the little faith they had in politics and that claiming for the white vote to be taken into account stop voting or vote for the FN to "make the system explode" (as commented by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the communist party of France, formerly an important party). But many of them ignoring most of the FN's program and ideology, that include a terribly violent dicrease of women rights and more generally the suppresion of many progress slowly made by the previous governments since the 70s! In other words, the rising FN would represents a true regression of the french society when in power, but the traditional parties asociated with a system rejected by the people and far from its concerns are prooving themselves more and more everyday to be totally unable to stop it. Terrible new when some surveys seam to show that a considerable percentage of the persons who vote for the FN would vote for totally different ideologies if they had more choice, such as a french Podemos. Which doesn't unfortunately mean, however, that racism is not rising in France as never before, like if the fuses had blown in the country of lights and that the Revolution on which it had been built had been forgoten. Far from protecting a culture, fascism is once again destroying it, except that this time it hides under another name.

The stabbing of a London commuter by 29 year old Muhaydin Mire is the latest in a string of terrorist attacks in Europe, but it will most certainly not be the last. Wielding a knife, Mire reportedly attacked two men in a tube station in east London on Saturday night, "seriously" injuring them.
The police quickly apprehended Mire before he could do more serious damage. During the scuffle when he was being arrested a witness repeatedly shouted at Mire, "You ain't no Muslim bruv!" This message has rapidly gone viral across the internet and is becoming a slogan against Islamic extremism. The message dispels the notion of Islamophobia and affirms that many, nay most, Muslims are against such senseless violence.

Assistant chief constable Mark Newton, of the British transport police said that, "The safety of the travelling public remains our top priority. In addition to our usual specialist response teams, last week we launched Project Servator, deploying even more highly-visible police patrols designed to identify and deter terrorism."

This sounds good but it's empty rhetoric. Islamist terrorists are not deterred by the threat of capture. How do you check everyone if they're carrying a weapon? All you need is one nutter with a kitchen knife and all hell breaks loose. No, we mustn't let this this faze us. What is the object of terrorism? Is it to cause damage to a specific body? Again, no. It is to spread fear and terror. If we live in fear of the terrorists, we give them victory. If we carry on as normal, we win. It's like when someone tries to wind you up, if you ignore them eventually they give up.

Obviously though we can't just ignore this situation due to the fact people are being killed. What is to be done then? We have several options:
1. Do nothing
2. Bomb Syria
3. Invade Syria
4. Install police state
5. Work covertly against the terrorists

1. Doing nothing might work if the idea that drives the terrorists burns out. But that's a big if. It may gain strength and grow to such a level that we won't be able to deal with it. Personally, I can't see this happening. The current area IS controls is fairly sized but very sparsely populated. I don't imagine that IS's brutal ideas of governance will work on masses of unsympathetic people.

2. Bombing IS territory is just a stupid idea. Strategic bombing has been found lacking time and time again. It is just a, comparatively, cheap way of appearing to fight an enemy. It is the government's way of saying, "see we're doing something!" When in fact they aren't. Bombing IS territory will also just worsen the refugee crisis.

3. Invading Syria wouldn't really solve as much as you might think. Remember this isn't a nation we're fighting here, we are fighting an idea. And as we all know "ideas are bulletproof." Ideas don't die. If we invade and take over Syria, then what about IS in Iraq? Or Somalia? Or Libya? Or west Africa? Will we invade every nation that they operate in? IS is the result of a globalised world. It doesn't exist in one place but rather it exists in the mind. If we take over Syria we'll just have an even bigger mess to deal with.

4. This would be a catastrophic act of self mutilation. "Let's defend freedom by destroying freedom!" A Pyrrhic victory if ever there was one. Yet still many in government are trying to do this. I don't believe that they're so stupid as to think that this will actually work, I think that they're just using the excuse of terrorism to further their own power.

5. Working covertly against the terrorists whilst maintaining an outward air of doing nothing I believe is the best way to go. We should figure out what drives people to terrorism, how to deal with that and keeping our nations safe. Far too often governments do things on the surface but do nothing in reality. We need to do nothing on the surface but something in reality.

So let's not give the terrorist scum the victory by living in fear but instead let's just get on with our everyday business. Mourn those who's lives have been taken of course but don't live in fear. Keep calm and don't get blown up!

So, Yymea is in a civil war. A bunch of rebels decided it was a good idea to take over the entire western half, and try to invade the capital. It was all fairly bloodless on the civilian side, with only a few foreign powers involved, but then someone with over 500.000.000 troops nuked Yymea, and managed to get literally every power involved in the war against them, including the rebels they supported. The war has droned on and on, darth vader showed up, and was banned after much OOC talk, but has somehow returned, the limit of MT has been broken, Cobrastan is doing Cobrastan things. How am I supposed to write a serious factbook about this? "Sith lords led by darth vader then attacked Kikikas, just as Cobrastan sent some spaceships to attack the hairy men of god"
This is made worse by the fact that Yymea currently in limbo location wise. Am I in earth, or am I in Arcadia? Am I in both? Have I submerged Arcadia into a nuclear winter, after literally MILLIONS of nuclear devices were used? Shouldn't the world have ended already? Well, we will see. But in the meantime, NS stats about my environment mean nothing now...

This is Noladea, the creator of LCRUA and the current writer for The RCN, recently we've been having a problem with the left side of NationStates,
they dont like us that much. I remember back when the region of LCRUA was starting out and a member of the Red Fleet mocked and ridiculed the co-founder
Condealism intelligence agency because he thought that he would raid our region based on his past actions, we looked into it and forgave him for his past, sadly some ''others''
cant. Our recent friendliness with the right side of NS caused our long time ally, Vetelo to cancel embassies with LCRUA, he said that he was forced by the big
Left leaning regions like North Korea, The Internationale, etc to cancel it, and here I am wondering why they hate our message of peace, did we do something? no, we did not.

It's their own closed mindedness that they cant see the good in us, they're stuck in a mantra of ''You allied with views I hate, so I hate you'' which makes no sense considering
that we stated MANY times that we are neutral, or as neutral as we can be, that we are peacemakers, all they see is that we are enemies, and that saddens me, all we want is peace, and they cant see that because of this, the (pardon my french) goddamn Ideological Gap, it separates people into useless categories and demonizes people or organizations that mean well, the left and right are both guilty of this and we need to break it, we need unity, peace, commpassion, and camaraderie,
Here is the final thing i have to say to both NS Left and NS Right: Stop the raids, the hate, and the cruelty towards each other and instead work together to close this goddamn Ideological Gap!!!

Edit: After some thinking, I might of demonized the left in this article, and after some info from Cyborgs and sentient machines I know the reason why the NS left hate the NS Right so eachother much now, I will elaborate more on that in the next issue.

if you want to be an advisor, contact the councilor you want to advise for, here are some rules:

Every councilor should be able to appoint advisors or secretaries. They will officially be a part of the government, and will be tagged as
such in the members list. They are ranked below the council, and can not vote in council votes. The councilor who employs them can use them for anything he needs done in his area of expertise.
