Actually, I heard the Lombards were from Scandinavia originally which is also where most Germanic tribes originally hailed from.
Well, most of them did originate there, but the period before the mass migration of the Huns and Vandals, which triggered all the other Germanics to move away from these two large groups, the Lombards were in what was Prussia.
