You've not argued the point either of us made so you can't claim either of us are wrong when you havn't proven our points wrong. You've now gone from wages earned per hour to hiring workers. What you have now just tried to argue is that hiring practices for businesses are sexist. In the event a business has 2 equally qualified people going for 1 position, with one male and one female candidate, a business hiring the man over the woman makes sense as the woman will cost the business money when she leaves to have her child because they still need to pay for maternity leave and hire someone to replace her during her time off which means paying extra wages. As a businesses main objective is generate as much profit as possible, having the least amount of cost possible, it makes perfect business sense to hire the person who wont cost the business an additional pay check for a period of time. Whether or not you think this is right logic doesn't care and it is the logical way for a business to act. Fortunately for society this is not a policy businesses have.

Also, to the point of "The truth is that when two individuals with the same exact experience and abilities are candidates for a job, the man will most likely get the job", citation needed because believe it or not, according to the HESA in the UK, women who graduate are more likely to find jobs than males after leaving college.

You want citations? How about the things that I have touched on. I don't know what happens on your side of the pond, but what I have mentioned has happened to me and my friends. How would you like it to be told that as soon as you can you will become pregnant and leave the company in the lurch. We as a group have been bypassed for promotion on numerous occasions even though we were as qualified or more so than the male candidate who was selected. What about the men that I have trained and who then are promoted over me and who still come to me to solve the problems that they are paid a higher salary than mine to solve. And the list goes on.

I would be upset. What are your thoughts?

Good morning guys!

Super quiet in the GA & SC. Anyone else going back to school soon?

I would be some what upset. But I'm an avid gamer so maybe I would try to make the relationship work by joining them ... If you can't date em' game them!

A question ? How does one advance in ranking in a region ? For as long as I've been playing I've never figured it out

I think I am going to The Umpire so bye guys. It seems like a good region ^^

I am already in school, my 6th day.

Oh wow, so early! :O

I know some people that started even earlier. But for some reason they started on a Friday.

6th day? I'm on week 3.

Wow, you started early!

Yup and each year seems to start earlier.

Why don't you weigh in on one of the current ongoing discussions, instead of doing your trademark "morning guys" thing! >: (

Your regional influence for a region will gradually increase over time, and you can increase the rate at which it increases by having more world assembly endorsements (but there is a limit to how many endorsements you can have, before the rulers of this region start getting mad at you).

The highest ranking you can get, and the rate you go up in the rankings, also depends on the number of people in a region, and their average regional influence.
Basically, for small, and newer region, your rank will increase quickly, and can get quite high.
For large and old regions (such as this one) it takes a long time to increase in rank, and you wont get very high.

But the whole topic is fairly moot, as regional rankings aren't really good for anything.

I wasn't interested in one of the current conversations, anyways I think I should be able to say good morning!

Illand wrote:I would be upset. What are your thoughts?

I think people should want to spend time together.

You still won't say good morning to the ladies :P

Yes, data as to the extent of the problem is very helpful in cases where things are claimed as a societal problem otherwise it can be considered a minor or localised problem. I'd also be very worried if I was told I will become pregnant because my life would have been a lie the last 24 years. I'm sorry to hear that this is happening to you, however there are some points I'd like to raise given your situation. First, how are promotions/raises given?(performance evaluation, set amount of years working, do you have to ask, profit based?). Secondly, what have you done to try and stop this from happening to ensure your place of employment operates fairly? If it was me in your position I'd be straight down to the local authorities raising hell along with anyone else effected.
Thirdly, if someone comes to you to solve a problem which they are being paid to solve either a) ask for payment for solving it for them or b) tell them to feck off and do it themselves.

I just use guys as a general term lol.

Solorni wrote:I just use guys as a general term lol.

Well it's an incorrect term when speaking to large groups of people :P

As a nordic region the correct term would be horde

Good morning horde guys? :O

Good morning.

New swayua
