oh, and people never over-react about politics? :P
I think the people of this chat are mature enough (appart from Lenny Face) to discuss sensitive topics without things getting out of hand.
And if things do get out of hand, I'm sure Solorni will... er... create a poll about it? :/
Hhhmmm.....(slowly pulls out 5,000 homework sheets points them toward Truly) Do you want these?
It's humans. I'm confident in their ability to be affronted by anything, from the letters used to spell a word, to the colour of the candy they were given. Fortunately, in most countries of the first world, there is no Right to be Unoffended...regardless their attempts to have that enshrined =P
Personally I like telling children Easter is celebrating the day Man embraced the Decimal System~
Do they get to hunt decimal chocolates?
Only a tithe. :P
Wish could ever find it (was S2E19), but there was an explanation on "Kid's say the darndest things" that went something about 'Jesus tried to stop the Easter Bunny from stealing all the eggs, but they put him on the cross, so God got mad and moved everyone's clocks an hour ahead".
im back!
im doing homework
Off-topic: Does anyone else think that the populations of countries on NationStates would make more sense if they were divided by 10? Fledgling nations would start out with 500000, and the largest nations would still be in the single-digit billions.
yeah
Can anyone please endorse me to the World Assembly?
OK
Does Balder have a world map?
Please endorse me.
I'd go 2 steps furter, and say it should be divided by 1000, otherwise the population of the planet would be over a trillion (well, I'm assuming all nation states is set on the same earth-like planet, but considering nations can physically move to different regions, who knows).
Also, there are only 2 real-world countries with over 1 billion population, so half the nations here having over that is riddiculous.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_population
I always assumed that the world of nationstates was infinitely expanding, with everything moving and shifting constantly to accommodate new and/or moving nations.
Or maybe the governments lied. I mean, the majority of the population of NS is oppressed lol
That'd be hilarious!

NationStates populations simply don't make sense in real world turns. But then again, nor does being able to move your country from one region to another.
Unless our nations are like nomadic tribes xD
I've had several ideas about how the world of nationstates works
-We're all in the matrix, which would explain how nations can move, and the huge population
-We're all realy tiny, like ants. There could thousants of trillions of ants on a human sized planet, explaining the population sizes (but not moving nations)
-The census people include pets, farm animals, pot-plants, etc. in the population numbers
-NS is set in a post-appocolyptic future, where much of the earth is a wasteland, and humanity live in flying cities. These cities (nations) can fly about, or settle in some wasteland somewhere with other nations, to form regions...
...maybe there's an explanation in one of Max Barry's books. Has anyone here actually read any of his books? (or heard of him outside NS)
Please, truly awesome, you would know a thing or two about being "butt hurt" bow chicka wow wow
I picture NationStates like a multiverse with lots of portals to travel through for the various nations to meet. That would explain why there are so many different Germanies, Russias, pony nations, timelines that seemingly contradict each other and so on.
