Welcome to the Arctic. Noone is stopping you, but maybe it's a good idea to check here if anyone's interested first.
We tried this once before but it was abandoned due to a lack of interest.

Can I join the NZEL?

Why is the map hosted on that weird tree forum rather than imgur or photobucket?

Arctic News

Trump may open up Arctic Drilling

Much has been made about President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to dismantle environmental regulations and streamline regulations that could lead to the construction of more pipelines. But there are a few other controversial energy issues that President Trump might ram through a Republican Congress, which would hand the oil and gas industry new areas for drilling that have long been off limits.

No other place has been more contentious, more fought over, than the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), a large swathe of territory in northeast Alaska, east of Prudhoe Bay where much of the state’s drilling is located. As its name suggests, the refuge is home to scenic mountains, rivers and lakes rich in wildlife and biodiversity. But it is also thought to hold large volumes of oil and gas reserves, and has been the subject of heated debate since the late 1970s over whether or not oil and gas companies should be allowed to drill. Republicans have long sought to open ANWR up for drilling, but Democrats have stymied them for decades.

POLL We have two Ministers (sorry I called them ambassadors in the poll) that have not logged in for 56 days (Aexalla and Greenland Arctic) we did vote some time ago to remove anyone after that, this is just a refresher poll to see if we feel the same as we are now faced with the situation. They don't show up in the factbook but if we just leave it they would resume when they logged in at any time in the future.

Shock Atlanda CTE

The poll was a draw so we could split the difference and remove the ministers after another 14 days making 70 days inactivity in total.

Its time for WA delegate elections, any suggestions how to go about it this time.

Thanks very much!! I was here before under a different name, probably a year or two ago now - It's good to be back! :D

I suggest that we give a week for nations to announce their intent to run for delegate. I'd also encourage nations to nominate others for the position, though of course being nominated does not obligate you to run. We can then do the secret poll: appoint two trusted nations as votekeepers, have everyone telegram their vote to both, and the votekeepers can announce the winner.

Would love to have a space on the map whenever it's been updated :-)

(Just rewriting my previous message, sorry) It is my understanding that there are a number of nations on the Arctic map who have not existed for some time (Etlantiss, Sscenopal, Greenlandic Arctic, Novaran Peoples, and others). I can't remember what the 'grace period' was for these nations, however some of those listed have been gone for >100 days. Perhaps it would be a good idea to update the map to clear up space for other nations?

Also, seeing that Etlantiss has disappeared for 169 days now (which I am pretty sure is longer than the grace period, correct me if I'm wrong), would it be possible for me to claim the now-vacant territory marked in red here?: http://imgur.com/cAU2J0D
