Is the house okay?

By the way, there was a small thunderstorm where I live yesterday. Several people died.

Yep. Only thing that broke was his printer. TV, XBox, appliances, etc all were fine. Just the damn printer.

It's called Polandball. You can find them on reddit in /r/Polandball. I've really gotten into them over the past weekend.

Bad news folks-I won't be posting an issue of The Chronic this week. Or, well, I may post it late.

It's due to the elections and a severe case of writer's block :P

I hope we'll have a bumper election special edition!

About how all the senators entered a ring... And only one came out.

you heard me. Two of our senators are zombies.

Caligulas reich

There will be an election special edition! I'll do that instead, one before and one after. It won't be a full fledged issue though.

Tis' the Season
Tis' right, folks, it is the season of false promises and bribery. Can't you smell the corruption and the beautiful clink-clank sound of tampered ballot boxes? Ah, it's my favorite time of the year-and luckily it happens six times! In honor of the elections, instead of the usual Wednesday updates, there will be two special editions written before the elections during campaigning (this one) and one after when all the dust settles.

SEVEN DUAL IT OUT FOR THREE SENATE SPOTS
This election has the making for an intense and historical one, has 7 hopeful citizens vy for the three spots. This Battle Royale of elections will feature two of the current senators-Crushita and Sector ZYX, with speaker Firebrand opting out. First-time nominees Jack Dawkins, Charlie Sheen, and Caligula SanArkus will throw their hats into the ring. Bayard Smythe, the current Steward, will be on the ballot as will longtime Ainurian Max Dawkins-who will be up against his father. I don't want to be there for Thanksgiving. Read the original signup thread Linkhere.

The traditional Ainurian way of elections for Senate features a 48 Hour voting period where all citizens can cast 3 votes to whatever clowns they landed on during 'eeny miney moe'. However, as this reporter learned, the best way to decide which of these 7 hopefuls will sit on the iron throne Senate is pitting the 7 gentlemen against one another in a gruesome battle to the death. The last three standing will become Senators. Who will have the upperhand in this? It's hard to say, although the half-canine incumbent Sector ZYX will be hard to fight off. The always chaotic Crushita and his legendary 'Potato Platform' however cannot be overlooked, and neither can the 'Rob Ford of Ainur' or newcomer Jack Dawkins. If Charlie Sheen can put down his crack for a second, he, too, may surprise and serve his first government position despite being in the region for well over 2 years.

I just finished the first book of
the Song of Ice and Fire series,
A Game of Thrones. It was pretty
amazing and you all should read
it. That is all.

Who will be a Senator remains a mystery, as there seems to be no clear favorite. Common to The Chronic fashion, this reporter took to the streets to see just who Ainur wanted. "I like that guy from Osiris" said Mike Oxlong, a middle aged man milking his white privelage. "He has the right attitude for the job" he continued. Others went in a different direction, as the reverend from a sprawling church complex down town, Father Ray Pist, was a strong supporter of Charlie Sheen and Max Dawkins. "I think Charlie Sheen will give the position a new light, having been here for a while and watching from a non-government position" he said as he admired the expanisive stained glass windows, crystalline wall borders, and the finely carved oaked pews. "And Max Dawkins will serve well, I believe. He has his father's smarts but he's more of a homebody" Father Ray Pist continued, as he popped open a bottle of tasty church-funded wine. Jen Itals, the newly-promoted Vice President of Public Relations for The Chronic however had strong praise for Cali SanArkus for whatever reason. "Cali is amazing! He deserves the position!" She muttered from behind her new desk in the fancy office building, "I will tell everyone to vote for him!" The attractive broad spoke with a booming smile. Good lady she is....Really good.

STEWARD ELECTION-THE OLD VERSUS THE NEW
The steward election is less of a warhorse like the senate, as Bayard Smythe attempts re-election against newcomer Caligula SanArkus. Both candidates described their plan of action in their manifestos, with Cali's located Linkhere and Bayard's Linkhere. Although Bayard is the higher touted candidate, if sport movies taught me anything, you can't count out the underdog. I took out to the countryside to talk to Ainur.

A slave owner by the name of Vincent Bates was the biggest Caligula supporter around, according to him. "He has grand ideas!" Master Bates said as he spit tobacc-er into a nearby pail. "He'll lead us to greatness!" Master Bates screamed. I slightly feared my life so I quickly left to the closest settlement, Dust Town, where Bayard Smythe appeared to be the stronger candidate. "I love me some Bayard!" Spitted Ima Naylor between her few remaining teeth. "My cousin want him to win, too!" Ima, the young inn keeper, continued. Her cousin then walked in from the back room and threatened me with a rusty dagger. "It's just a reporter, cousin!" Ima pleaded. "I told you Ima, I'm your husband now! No more of 'tis cousin stuff!" I quickly left Dust Town and returned to the civilized world before they could show me their sons Jim, Joe, Jim Bob, Joe Bob and Jimmy Joe Bob.

INTERVIEW EXCLUSIVE WITH HIS MAJESTY KING AUGUSTUS ANUMIA
I was fortunate enough to have the oppurtunity to have an interview with our leader, the amazing, the handsome, the savior of Ainur, his majesty King Augustus Anumia! I asked his majesty a handful of questions regarding the upcoming political election.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUBREY <3

How do you feel about the large amount of citizens announcing their intention to run for Senate, and how does this bode for the future?
I think it's really fantastic! It's great that we've got a mix of both veteran players and young blood wanting to contribute to Ainur. I would say that having such mass participation in standing for (and hopefully voting in) elections is the sign of a robust political system, one that allows for everyone to contribute in his or her own way to the region.

As monarch, you retain the constitutional right to raise the amount of Senate positions. Have you given any thought to doing this as 7 citizens vye for less than half as many positions?
I have given it some thought, but I ultimately decided against it this time. I think the current size of the Senate has worked pretty well for the last two terms, and I believe it will continue to do so. I also think that the Assembly will take some of the pressure off the Senate in terms of being the only available place for citizens to formally propose legislation, so the need to expand the Senate is reduced.

Ultimately, the size of the Senate is dependent on whether I feel like the Senate can do its job efficiently at the current size, and I think it can. If there is a need to expand the Senate to cope with the workload better, then I'll definitely increase the number of seats at the next election.

When the new senate takes office, is there anything in particular you would like to be seen done/resolved?
If it doesn't pass by the end of this term, I think a crucial piece of legislation will be the Assembly Establishment Resolution. Beyond that, I hope to present a Resolution concerning the powers of the Crown and regencies to the Senate in the very near future.

His Majesty kindly declined discussion regarding the Steward election.

Caligula, you silly little doggy dog. I'm not running this month. My announcement of candidacy was in case if the number of candidates stays below 4, and that's obviously not the case, so I'm not going to run this around, mostly because I'm fresh out of ideas.

Caligulas reich

Ah, I sincerely apologize! I thought you were still going to run, I'll go change that.

Kranstentistan

It's nearing election day at Ainur. Max posted a thread for the sole purpose of posting memes glorifying his campaign in the election center, which lead me to post a joke senate manifesto also in the election center which inspired Crushita to do the same thing, which resulted in him and Jack Dawkins spamming the hell out of it, before Augustus put a stop to it and talked down at us much like how a conservative father would talk down his son after discovering him masturbating to hentai.

Ainur is a Central Asian country.

Be quiet and get back to practicing the piano! Mozart wrote this when he was 7, and now you're 14 and you can't even play it! You bring dishonour on our ancestors!
